Description
The invention relates to a method for producing porous metallic materials with anisotropic thermal and electrical conductivities according to the Oberbe handle the main claim.
Highly porous metal foam materials have a heterogeneous gas-metal composite materials compared to solid metals greatly reduced thermal and electrical Conductivities. The conductivities depend on the relative density (proportion of pores in the Material) and depending on the conductivity of the metallic component. The electrical and thermal conductivities basically depend on the Conductivities of the matrix material and the gas in the pores. The Heat conduction can also be done by convection and heat radiation inside the Metal foam are affected. With the metallic foam materials the thermal conductivity due to the gas in the pores is negligible small compared to the heat conduction via the metallic cell webs. Also the Heat conduction by convection and heat radiation reaches values that are in the ver are negligibly small for heat conduction through the metallic framework. When considering electrical conductivity, the influence of the gas on the line is in the pores many orders of magnitude smaller than that of the metallic framework and can therefore be neglected.
Methods are known from DE-PS 40 18 360 and DE-PS 41 01 630, according to which the production of a porous metal body based on mixtures of metal powders and gas-releasing blowing agents is possible. With this procedure After a hot compacting step of the powder mixture, foaming is carried out material. This material can be prepared in a subsequent foaming through exposure to temperature to a highly porous metal foam body be foamed. The pore size and shape of the pores of the pores thus produced materials is largely isotropic and uniform. According to DE 41 01 The processes described in 630 are used during the foaming process outer layers, d. H. the body surface cooled to an increased density of the To obtain material.
The invention has for its object a method for producing a Specify lightweight metallic material, the anisotropic, thermal and electrical conductivities with excellent heat resistance and gu has strength and soundproofing properties.
It has been found that the procedure specified in claims 1 to 3 solve this task. The materials produced by these processes white towards materials with isotropic conductivities, d. H. towards material fen with a uniform pore size in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the pores increased conductivity and greatly reduced conductivity in the direction of the transverse axis of the elongated pores.
According to claim 1, a method is specified, according to which a porous metallic Material with highly elongated pores can be produced in that the foaming process of a foaming plant taking place due to the effect of temperature material or a foaming melt is broken off. this leads to flat, highly elongated pores with a high L / D ratio. The longer one Main axis of the pores during the expansion of the foamable material at all times perpendicular to the compaction direction. With flat material, it is always in the Sheet level. In particular in the production of flat material, the Structural components in rows. This structure leads to a incomplete expansion of the foamable material, d. H. at an early Termination of the foaming process does not create an isotropic pore structure, but instead form strongly elongated pore structures.
In claim 2, a method is specified according to which the foaming of foamable material takes place below the solidus temperature, d. H. the Foaming temperature is very low. The same procedures are followed in this procedure decisive as in the above procedure with the early termination of the Foaming process.
The method specified in claim 3 is carried out so that the materials made of highly porous metal foams with isotropic properties in one mold Exercise process in which the material is plastically deformed can be produced nen. The shaping process can be a rolling, pressing, upsetting or forging process, d. H. there are all conventional molding processes in which the Plastically deformed material is suitable. In these processes, the cellular Body deformed so that the main direction of deformation parallel to the material elongation with the desired lower conductivity. Perpendicular to the form direction increases because of the number of conductive membranes or cell webs per unit area is increased by the forming process. On the other hand the conductivity remains parallel to the forming direction compared to the porous one Starting material with isotropic properties almost unchanged. While of the forming process are originally parallel to the direction of deformation oriented cell walls of the pores are not compressed due to their small thickness, but they fold or fold in perpendicular to the direction. The original The effective guiding route parallel to the direction of deformation remains despite the increased Density approximately preserved. A maximum degree of deformation, both from the Initial density and the pore morphology as well as the matrix material of the ver forming metallic foam material is dependent, but must not steps are taken to ensure that the cell walls move after deformation do not touch and do not form conductive bridges. In addition, the original originally, cell webs oriented parallel to the compression direction during deformation bre or tear. This results in the number of lines being continuous available webs is reduced and the conductivity decreases further. The integration of components (e.g. Kera mic or hard metal particles, short fibers, etc.), which act as crack starters during the De formation can serve. Non-conductive particles integrated into the metal structure also offer the advantage that the specific resistance of the webs is increased and thus the overall conductivity of the material is further reduced.
The material according to the invention can be used in various areas of use:
He can e.g. B. used in the automotive sector as a heat shield to protect tem temperature sensitive parts from the effects of heat. Such heat shields can be made with a specifically adjustable heat transfer in the thickness direction. In general, the materials according to the invention are also used where a uniform temperature distribution on the surface of objects or walls is desired. If the material is used, for example, in cooking appliances, the very different thermal conductivity means that the amount of heat supplied is distributed quickly and evenly in the cooking appliance, thereby preventing the food from burning.
