Abstract
Description
Mitteilung).Concepts for changing the space between cover glass and slide Immobilization of moving objects in microscopy are by Wiemann M. & Görtz H. D. (Journal of Protozoology, 1989, 36 (2), pp. 176-179) and Skovorodkin I. (Cytologia, 1990, 32, pp. 301-302) was introduced in Tübingen Precision engineering company is said to have another variant under the name "Rotikompressor" produce (personal communication).
Show in addition to the sometimes complex and therefore expensive constructions others through the required materials (plastic) or the necessary Material thickness defects in light-optical images, because an adjustment of the Microscope beam paths (Koehler) mostly when using these devices is no longer possible.
The design by I. Skovorodkin uses standard slides and Cover glasses. A plastic wedge to which a razor blade is attached glued to the slide. At the other end of the razor blade is the coverslip glued on. By moving one between razor blade and slide clamped matchstick, the position of the cover slip is changed. With this Design, the examined objects can easily be recovered. The disadvantageous handling under the microscope is that tedious replacement of the used glasses (peeling off the adhesive) Avoid contamination of other objects to be examined and the lack Possibility of fine adjustment during observation.
The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem that Height adjustment and the pressure of the cover slip on the slide smoothly to be able to change under the microscope and the position of the moving object (Single cell or multicell in µm size). The free rotation of the nosepiece should not be restricted by the device. By displacing excess liquid, optimal contrasts are supposed to of microphotography. According to the observation, this should be done by the Cover glass print fixed object for cultivation by lifting the cover glass with can be removed from a pipette. To image quality too commercially available coverslips and slides are to be used after the examination can easily be exchanged for new ones Avoid contamination.
These problems are solved by the features listed in claim 1, lateral manipulation possibility, mechanical transmission of the manipulation and solved the type of glasses holder.
In addition to the immobilization of movable biological objects, the advantages achieved by the invention are, in particular, the possibility of determining the position of the objects by repeatedly raising and lowering the cover glass. These interventions can easily be carried out during the examination under the microscope using the laterally protruding adjustment screws or slides. A smooth movement of the spacer and thus the cover glass is given by the type of power transmission ( Fig. 1). The exchange of used coverslips and slides has been greatly simplified by simply inserting and plugging them in. The use of commercially available microscopic glasses ensures high image quality and saves costs.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention is in claim 2 specified. By using a cover slip size 32 × 24 × 0.17 mm, the is fixed transversely to the usual position on the device, it is possible Design cover slip guide to the side of the slide. With that, the recording kept so flat that a lens change generally without lowering the Objective and thus changing the focus level is possible.
Furthermore, the device is kept as simple as possible in order to enable economical production. In the construction, which consists of spring sheet metal, only a punching and bending device is necessary to produce the base body into which the adjusting device is inserted ( FIG. 1) or riveted ( FIG. 2).
The exemplary embodiments are shown in the drawings ( FIGS. 1-3) and are described in more detail below.
The designation of the reference points 1-5 and 24 are shown in Figures 1-3 are identical, to emphasize that this is identical to construction characteristics..
Fig. 1 shows a device for lifting and lowering a cover slip on the slide by spring action and adjustment by means of an adjustable spacer.
The cover glass, size 32 × 24 × 0.17 mm, is inserted into the groove 2 transversely to the usual position 12 . The slide 13 is clamped between the bracket 3 bent by 90 ° and the spring clip 4 . The spring clip has a slight bend upwards for easier insertion of the slide at the tip 5 . The bracket 3 is sharply bent to ensure a firm fixation in the clamping device of the microscope table. The base surface lies tightly on the slide 13 . The cover slip holder consists of a web-shaped widening of the base body, which is folded over at the ends 2 by 180 ° and thereby forms a groove of 0.17 (+0.01; -0) mm. The length of the webs is designed so that the bent ends 2 on both sides of the slide have a sufficient distance 24 to the slide to allow the cover glass to lie completely flat. The base body 1 consists of 0.2-0.3 mm thick spring plate, which is thermally hardened after punching and bending. The length of the base body is chosen to be 33-35 mm so that the higher parts no longer reach into the turning radius of the objective nosepiece. However, the cover glass lies far enough in the middle of the long side of the slide to prevent the slide from tilting in the recess of the microscope table when the cross table is moved over the entire cover glass surface. The elongated hole 6 leaves the threaded rod 8 space for horizontal movement and ends after the bend 9 as an axial lock for the twist grip 10 . The ends of the elongated hole form radii. Bend 9 is produced after the assembly of the twist grip 10 , so that the twist grip is thereby fixed upwards. The twist grip is a turned part made of brass with a narrow recess 11 as an axial fixation with the base body, the diameter of which is 0.2 mm smaller than the width (5 mm) of the elongated hole. The other end of the twist grip is rounded. The twist grip contains a 2 mm longer internal thread (M2 or M3) than the length of the travel of the spacer 7 . The spacer is made of brass for better sliding, is T-shaped and has an external thread (M2 or M3) at the long end 8 , the length of which corresponds at least to the length of the internal thread. The short side of the T-shaped spacer almost corresponds to the width of the slide, which prevents twisting of the spacer. The bend 9 of the base body is designed so that a constant spring force acts in the direction of the slide with each cover glass layer. Furthermore, base body 1 is shaped so that when the threaded spacer is fully screwed in, the cover slip rests flat on the slide with spring pressure. With the threaded spacer almost unscrewed completely, the cover glass rises to a height that corresponds to the diameter of the short end of the spacer.

The base body has a fold of 180 ° at points 15 and 18 . At point 26 , the base body 1 is angled by 90 ° and, when the cover glass is completely lowered, has an acute angle of 5 ° to the slide. The kink at point 27 is designed so that when the cover slip is lowered, it lies flat on the slide with spring pressure. The spring action of the base body is directed upwards. The upper stop is nut 14 , a brass turned part with tapping, which is riveted to the base plate 1 on the holding plate 15 . The nut has a through thread M2 or M3. The height adjustment is effected by turning screw 16 which presses on stop plate 18 . The screw, M2 or M3, has a head that is sufficiently large for manipulation by hand. The fulcrum (hinge) of the base body lies at point 20 , since here the weakest point of the base body lies through the bore 19 .

The spring action of the base body is directed downwards. This is achieved by a bend at point 9 . At this point, the base body rises about 4 mm above the slide. Point 28 demonstrates the exaggerated, resulting deflection of the base body with the slide 21 fully pulled out. The cover slip then lies flat with spring pressure. The pressure, height and tilt angle of the cover slip are adjusted by horizontally moving slide 21 . The slide is made of 1-1.5 mm steel or brass wire. The angle 23 is designed so that the gripping eye 22 forms an isosceles triangle to the short piece acting as a distance. The length of the short piece almost corresponds to the width of the slide.
