Description
The present invention relates to a plastic product and a Process for the partial coating of plastic, in which a decorative Coating layer only on the required sections on the Surface of a plastic base material is formed.
It has been generally suggested driving front grills from Fahr testify from plastics and these under Ver decorating using coating techniques.
In this context, techniques are known so far as for example in the Japanese audited Pa Tent Disclosure No. 45-37843 and the Japanese Ung examined Patent Publication Nos. 55-152195 and 52-50937 were proposed.
In one of these techniques, as shown in Fig. 13, a contoured groove 72 , which is substantially V-shaped in cross-section, is formed on the surface of a base material 71 along the boundary between the portion to be coated or the portion to be decorated (left . page in Fig 13) and the right not to be layer portion (side in FIG. 13 det) gebil. The base material 71 thus produced is first subjected to a chemical coating, whereby a chemically deposited layer 73 is formed on the entire upper surface of the base material 71 except for the bottom 72 a of the groove 72 . Since the bottom 72 a of the groove 72 is too narrow to allow a coating solution to penetrate there, the chemical coating cannot be applied to the bottom 72 a in essence. The base material 71 that the chemical deposition layer 73 has formed thereon is then subjected to an electrical plating step as shown in FIG. 14. The base material 71 is first immersed in a predetermined electrolyte solution, and then the chemically deposited layer 73 formed on the portion to be coated is electrically charged to allow a galvanized layer 74 to be formed thereon. The chemically deposited layer 73 , which is formed on the portion not to be coated, is electrically isolated by the presence of the groove 72 , so that the layer 73 is dissolved by the electroplating solution and removed from the base material 71 . Thus, the chemically deposited layer 73 and the electroplating layer 74 can be formed on the base material 71 only at the portions where an ornament layer is required.
The technique described above can be applied the, if outer vehicle parts made of plastic as in for example, front grills and rear walls can be produced. For example, in the case of a front grill, a Layer on the front surface of a front grill base material at predetermined sections forms, and on the remaining sections is a coat layer formed (on the front surface).
In the conventional techniques described above, the layer containing the chemically deposited layer 73 and the electrodeposited layer 74 is sometimes formed island-like on the front of the front grill surface thereof. In this case, the groove 72 on the front surface of the base material is formed as 71 so as to form a contour line, and the portions to be coated must be electrically charged in the electroplating step. For this purpose, a protrusion, which serves as an electrode, must be formed on the front surface of the base material 71 so that it ensures the charging process. However, if the front grill ultimately obtained is used, the protrusion on the front surface thereof is preserved and greatly damages the appearance of the product.
The lead can be after the electroplating be removed. However, there is no Be stratification on the section from which the front jump has been removed, which is equally the issue The product is damaged.
From the further publication DE 25 06 653 A1 is a Plastic product known from a plastic base material, that has annular boundaries, so that too coating sections of non-coating Sections are separated. On the one to be coated Sections are a chemically deposited layer as well a layer electrolytically deposited thereon, the front surface of the plastic base material with the rear surface of the Plastic base material is connected.
The further publication DE 27 28 546 A1 describes a Plastic product and a process for its production, where the front surface of the plastic product also electrically conductive with its rear surface connected is. For this purpose is in an opening of the Plastic product made of a conductive plastic existing element introduced and in the main body of the Embedded plastic product.
The object of the invention is a plastic product and a Process for partially coating a To create plastic base material in which the deposited layer easily and safely towards the coating sections can be formed without the Impair the appearance of the plastic product.

More specifically, the galvanized layer 16 B is a composite galvanized layer having a galvanized copper layer as the bottom layer, a semi-glossy galvanic nickel layer, a shiny galvanic nickel layer and a galvanic chrome layer, which are applied in this order. These layers are not shown.
The groove 11 formed on the grill body 2 has a width W1 of 0.5 mm and a depth D1 of 0.6 mm. While the width W1 does not have to be exactly limited, it is preferably not less than 0.3 mm and not more than 1 mm due to the processing limits in order to achieve an improvement in design. While the depth D1 does not have to be precisely limited, it is preferably not less than 0.3 mm due to the processing limits. While the upper limit of the ratio need not be strictly limited, it is preferably 5.0 or less, more preferably 4.0 or less in consideration of easy manufacture. If the ratio is 3.0 or less, the manufacturing steps can be carried out very easily. Furthermore, the ratio of the depth D1 to the width W1 (D1 / W1) is preferably 1 or larger.
On the lower step portion 10 of the secondary partition 6 , a through hole 17 is formed with a substantially conical conical inner circumference. In this through hole 17 , the diameter of the front opening and the rear opening is adjusted to be approximately 0.3 mm and approximately 3 mm, respectively, when the grill body 2 is injection molded.
A contoured groove 18 with a substantially V-shaped cross section, similar to the groove 11 , is formed to give the through hole 17 on the rear surface of the grill body 2 of the secondary partition 6 . In addition, a protrusion 19 is integrally formed on the rear surface so as to protrude near the through hole 17 from the portion surrounded by the groove 18 .
Next, the mold 21 for molding the grill body 2 will be described. As can be seen in Fig. 5, the mold 21 is equipped with a fixed die 22 and a movable die 23 . These two die cast shapes 22 , 23 together form a cavity 24 for forming the grill body 2 . It should be noted that to form the groove 18 a conical conical jump 25 and a rib 26 A are integrally formed with the fixed die 22 . A rib 26 B for forming the groove 11 is integrally formed with the movable die 23 . The fixed die 22 is further equipped with a hole 27 to form the projection 19 from .
Various galvanic solutions for forming the chemically deposited layer 15 and the galvanic layer 16 will now be described. The solution for forming the chemically deposited layer 15 contains 5 g / l of copper sulfate pentahydrate, 5 g / l of sodium hydroxide, 10 ml / l of formalin ( 37 volume percent) and 25 g / l of Rochelle salt. The solution for forming the lowest cladding layer of the galvanic layer 16 A in layer 16 contains 250 g / l of nickel sulfate, 30 g / l of nickel chloride and 30 g / l of boric acid.
The solution for forming the galvanic copper layer in layer 16 B contains 200 g / l of copper sulfate, 50 g / l of sulfuric acid, 0.01 g / l of hydrochloric acid and a trace of brightener. The solution for forming the semi-glossy galvanic nickel layer contains 280 g / l nickel sulfate, 45 g / l nickel chloride, 40 g / l boric acid and a trace of brightener. Furthermore, the solution for forming the shiny galvanic nickel layer contains 240 g / l nickel sulfate, 45 g / l nickel chloride, 30 g / l boric acid, a trace of brighteners and additives. The solution for forming the galvanic chromium layer contains 250 g / l chromic acid, 10 g / l sodium silicium fluoride and 1 g / l sulfuric acid.
In the step after the lower coating of the galvanic layer 16 A, a predetermined solution for dissolving the chemically deposited layer 15 , which cuts on the parts from which no decorative layer is required, is prepared. This is a 10% ammonia spirit solution with a liquid temperature of 50 ° C.
Furthermore, a device for cutting the chemically deposited layer 15 is provided before the formation of the lower galvanic cladding layer 16 A, which tends to form on the bottoms 11 A, 18 A of the grooves 11 , 18 . This device is provided with a cutting knife 20 as shown in FIG. 7 and an actuator (not shown) for driving the cutting knife 20 and a control unit (not shown) for controlling the operation of the actuator.
Next, the method for manufacturing the front grill 1 will be described. It should be noted that mainly the partial coating method for the side partitions 6 is described as mentioned above.
Fig. 5) zu füllen. First, an ABS plastic melt is injected in order to fill the cavity 24 according to a known injection molding process (see FIG. 5). After the plastic has cooled and hardened, the die-casting molds 22 , 23 are opened to remove the grill body 2 . In this drive Ver die casting molds 22 , 23 are opened in one direction so that the projection 25 and the ribs 26 A, 26 B can be pulled out of the grill body 2 , so that the projection 25 and the ribs 26 A, 26 B are not disturbing engage in the mold opening to allow gradual detachment of the grill body 2 . Thus, the grill body 2 can be obtained, the con tured grooves 11 , 18 and the through hole 17 at predetermined locations.
The grill body 2 thus obtained is subsequently immersed in a chemical coating solution to apply a chemical coating method. The bottom 11 A, 18 A of the grooves 11 , 18 is too narrow, as shown in Fig. 6, to allow the solution to penetrate it. Accordingly, the chemical coating does not act on these floors 11 A, 18 A, and the chemically deposited layer 15 can be formed on the entire surface of the grill body except the floors 11 a, 18 a.
Then the grill body 2 is subjected to a step to cut from a layer. The cutting knife 20 slides along the bottoms 11 a, 18 a of the grooves 11 , 18 as shown in Fig. 7. By this sliding movement, the chemically deposited layer 15 , which tends to be present at the bottoms 11 a, 18 a with a very low probability, cut off completely. Thus, the electrical connection between the chemically deposited layers 15 on both sides of the grooves 11 , 18 is absolutely interrupted. Accordingly, the layer 3 is prevented in the subsequent galvanic step from forming on the bottoms 11 a, 18 a of the grooves 11 , 18 . Whether the interruption of electrical conductivity has been fully achieved or not can be easily determined by using a conductivity test using a test device.
Next, in the first step of Unterschichtgalvanisierschritt Grillkör by 2, on which the layer 15 is formed out 16 A is immersed for a predetermined time in a plating solution for forming the plating underlayer. The portions to be coated (to be decorated) are electrically charged using the protrusion 19 formed on the rear surface of the grill body 2 as an electrode. A clamp 28 is clamped onto the projection 19 , on which the chemically deposited layer 15 is formed, to which electrical current is subsequently applied. Thus, no galvanic layer is formed on the sections not to be coated, as shown in FIG. 8, since these sections are electrically isolated by the grooves 11 , 18 . On the other hand, a relatively thin galvanic sub-layer 16 A is formed on the sections to be coated, on which the chemically deposited layer 15 is formed.
Fig. 9 shows a front view of a vehicle rear wall according to a second embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 10 zeigt eine Querschnitt-Seitenansicht des Rückwandhauptkörpers. Fig. 10 is a cross-sectional side view showing the rear wall of the main body.
As shown in FIGS . 11 and 12, a contoured inner step portion 56 and a contoured outer step portion 57 are formed along the circumference of a back wall body 52 , so that the boundary between the layer 53 and the cladding layer 54 is delimited. The contoured grooves 58 , 59 have a substantially V-shaped cross section and are formed along these step portions 56 , 57 . A through hole 63 is formed on the portion to be covered with the trim member 55 as shown in FIG. 10. A protrusion 60 serving as an electrode protrudes rearward from the rear surface of the portion covered with the trim member 55 . In addition, a contoured groove 64 is formed to surround the through hole 63 and the protrusion 60 on the rear surface of the portion to be covered with the trim member 55 . This groove interrupts the electrical passage from the protrusion 60 , which is formed within the groove 64 , to the outer portion.
In addition, the layer 53 has a chemically deposited layer 61 and a galvanic layer 62 formed thereon. The composition of the chemically deposited layer 61 and the galvanic layer 62 are the same as in the first exemplary embodiment.
The back wall 51 is manufactured in the same manner as in the first embodiment. The rear wall body 52 , which has the annular or contoured grooves 58 , 59 formed at predetermined locations, is subjected to a chemical coating. The coating solution hardly penetrates into the bottoms 58 a, 59 a of the grooves 58 , 59 , since these are narrow. Accordingly, the chemically deposited layer 61 is formed on the entire surface of the rear wall body 52 except for the bottoms 58 a, 59 a. The rear wall body 52 , on which the layer 61 was formed, is then subjected to a galvanic coating. In this method, similar to the first embodiment, the protrusion 60 of the back wall body 52 serves as an electrode. The chemically deposited layer 61 formed on the portions not to be coated (inner portion on the front surface) is dissolved by a predetermined solution. A multi-layer galvanic layer 62 is formed on the chemically deposited layer 61 , which cut on the Ab, on which the galvanic layer is applied (the rib of the frame of the rear wall 51 ), in which is. Only in this way can the back wall body be obtained by 52 , which has the layer 61 and the galvanic layer 62 , which is formed on the sections to be coated.
Subsequently, the portions on which the layer 53 is formed are covered with a galvanic mask (not shown) in the same manner as in the first embodiment. The portions that are not covered with the galvanic mask are spray coated with a coating material to form a cladding layer 54 on the portions to be coated. After the cladding layer 54 is formed, the electroplating mask is removed to obtain the back wall 51 having the layer 53 on the rib of the frame and the cladding layer 54 on the inner peripheral portion thereof. This embodiment also has the same effects and effects as the first embodiment.
Since the protrusion 60 , which serves as an electrode, is also formed on the rear surface of the rear wall body 52 in this exemplary embodiment, the protrusion does not damage the appearance of the resulting product. Furthermore, the layer 53 formed on the rear surface of the back wall body 52 may be present only at the portion surrounded by the groove 64 . Accordingly, the total amount of coating solution can be reduced, which leads to a cost reduction.
Ins besondere soll klargestellt sein, daß die vorliegende Er findung noch auf die folgende Art und Weise verkörpert werden kann:Although here two exemplary embodiments according to the invention have been described, it should be clear to the person skilled in the art that the present invention in many other special forms can be embodied without the idea of the invention or the scope of the invention is left. Ins special should be made clear that the present Er still embodied in the following way can be:
The present invention can be used in other vehicle parts such as an outer cover for a door mirror holder, a radiator, a pillar garnish, a curved vent or a rear side vent and a badge plate in place of the vehicle front grille 1 and the rear wall 51 . The present invention is not limited to the plastic products as described above. It can be applied to other plastic products with galvanic layers and cladding layers.
Plastic materials other than ABS plastics, such as for example polypropylene, polyphenylene oxide, polyamides, Polysulfone and polyester can be used as the base material be det.
The chemically deposited layers 15 , 61 can be formed from other metals such as copper or nickel. While the galvanic layers 16 , 62 can be produced using other metals such as the three metals described above, that is, copper, nickel and chromium, the layer need not have a multilayer structure.
In the first and second exemplary embodiments, the galvanic step contains a multiplicity of steps, which includes the underlayer galvanization step, in order to form the galvanic layers 16 , 62 as layers put together. However, the order of the steps in the galvanic step, the galvanization processes and the type of galvanization need not be specifically limited.
In the first embodiment, hydrochloric acid and boron acid added to the pH of the coating solution to 4 or in the underlayer plating step lower. However, these acids can with any other acid such as nitric acid, Hydrofluoric acid and sulfuric acid can be replaced. Furthermore, the compositions of the respective Coating solutions are not based on the above be limited.
In the first embodiment, it is permitted that the chemically deposited layer 15 and the galvanic sub layer 16 A each have copper and nickel, and only the chemically deposited layer 15 is adapted to be dissolved in the dissolving step by treatment with an aqueous alkaline solution will. The chemically deposited layer 15 and the galvanic underlayer 16 A can each have nickel and copper in opposite directions, and an aqueous acidic solution can be used in the dissolving step. In the latter case, only the chemically deposited layer 15 is dissolved. Such a composition can further have the same effects and effects as in the first embodiment.
Both the chemically deposited layer 15 and the galvanic lower layer 16 A can have nickel, and the treatment can be carried out using a separate aqueous acidic solution. In this case, the thickness of the layer in which the electroplating layer 16 is additionally formed (section to be coated) is larger than the layer which is formed on the section not to be coated, so that the chemically deposited layer 15 first on the not to coating section is fully dissolved continuously. Accordingly, this embodiment can further have the same effects and effects as in the above embodiment. Furthermore, both the chemically deposited layer 15 and the galvanic underlayer 16 A can contain the same metal, which is not nickel (e.g. copper), and the sections to be coated and the sections not to be coated can be determined by a predetermined one Solution to be resolved.
Therefore, the present examples and implementations only as illustrative and not as restrictive seeks, and the invention is not detailed ten specified here.
According to the invention, annular grooves 11 , which have substantially V-shaped cross sections, are formed on the front and rear surfaces of the grill body 2 . Further, the through hole 17 connecting the front and rear surfaces of the grill body is formed so that the front opening is smaller than the rear opening. A protrusion 19 is formed on the rear surface of the grill body, which is located within the groove. The grill body 2 is immersed in a solution to form a chemically deposited layer 15 on the entire surface of the grill body except for the bottoms of the grooves. The grill body is then subjected to an under-layer galvanization in which the grill body is immersed in a predetermined electrolyte solution. The protrusion is used as a kind of electrode to electrically charge the chemically deposited layer located on the front surface of the layer located on the protrusion and through the layer located in the through hole a galvanic sub-layer 16 A can be formed on the sections on which a galvanic decorative layer is formed. The chemically deposited layer 15 , which is formed on the portions on which no galvanic decorative layer is formed, is dissolved by a predetermined solution. A galvanic layer 16 B is similarly formed on the galvanic lower layer 16 A. The chemically deposited layer 15 and the galvanic layer 16 are formed only on the sections 12 to be coated. The projection 19 does not damage the front appearance of the front grill.
