Abstract

The invention relates to a vehicle emergency radio system. In order to achieve a system which is as reliable as possible, the following is proposed according to the invention: a) the vehicle is equipped with an active position-determining device, with a crash sensor and an emergency transmitter; b) during the operating phase of the vehicle, the position-determining device determines continuously, preferably at predetermined temporal intervals, automatically the current position of the vehicle and transmits the determined position data to the emergency transmitter; the position data remain in the emergency transmitter until new position data are received from the position-determining device; c) in the event of an accident, the crash sensor checks automatically, using predetermined accident criteria, whether or not an emergency call has to be transmitted; if the accident criteria are met, the crash transmitter passes an enable signal to the emergency transmitter which then transmits, via radio, an emergency signal together with the currently stored position data; d) the emergency radio signal is received by at least one fixed-position base station of a cellularly constructed mobile radio network, routed to a rescue control centre and displayed there.

Description

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Fahrzeug-Notfunksystem.The invention relates to a vehicle emergency radio system.

Durch das Demonstrations-Projekt ARTHUR (Automatic Radio communication System for Traffic Emergency Situations on Highways and Urban Roads) das Teil des EG-geförderten Forschungsvorhabens PROMETHEUS ist, ist ein Fahrzeug-Not funksystem bekannt, das folgende Merkmale aufweist (vgl. hierzu die Kurzbeschreibung "Demonstrations-Projekt: AR THUR" vom 09.02.1989):Through the demonstration project ARTHUR (Automatic Radio communication system for traffic emergency situations on Highways and Urban Roads) is part of the EC funded PROMETHEUS 'research project is a vehicle emergency known radio system, which has the following features (cf. the short description "Demonstration project: AR THUR "from 09.02.1989):

  • - das Fahrzeug ist ausgestattet mit einer aktiven Positionsbestimmungseinrichtung (NAVMAX Ortungssy stem), mit einem Chrashsensor und mit einem Funk sender in Form eines Autotelefons; - The vehicle is equipped with an active one Positioning device (NAVMAX location system stem), with a crash sensor and with a radio transmitter in the form of a car phone;
  • - im Falle eines Unfalls prüft der Crashsensor auto matisch anhand ihm vorgegebener Unfallkriterien wie Fahrzeuggeschwindigkeit und -bremsbeschleuni gung usw., ob ein Notruf auszusenden ist oder nicht; werden die Unfallkriterien erfüllt, gibt der Crashsensor ein Freigabesignal über eine Steuereinrichtung an die aktive Positionsbestim mungseinrichtung die daraufhin die momentane Posi tion des Fahrzeugs über Satellit ermittelt, sowie an das Autotelefon, das anschließend per Funk au tomatisch ein Notrufsignal zusammen mit den ermit telten momentanen Positionsdaten des Fahrzeugs aussendet;- In the event of an accident, the crash sensor checks auto matically based on the accident criteria specified by him such as vehicle speed and brake acceleration etc. whether an emergency call is to be sent or Not; the accident criteria are met the crash sensor sends a release signal via a Control device to the active position determ The device then the current Posi tion of the vehicle determined via satellite, and to the car phone, which is then radio-controlled automatically an emergency call signal together with the ermit current position data of the vehicle sends out;
The radio signal is from at least one local Most base station of a cellular Mo bilfunknetzes received and sent to a rescue team Headquarters forwarded and there for display brings.

A disadvantage of this known vehicle emergency radio system is that in certain accident situations such. B. in tunnels a location of the vehicle as a result of Shadowing effects via satellite is not possible.

The object of the invention is such a driving Stuff emergency system to improve that a Determining the location of the accident vehicle independently possible from the radio technical boundary conditions at the accident site is.

The achievement of the task is by Features of claim 1 reproduced. The remaining Claims contain advantageous training and further education the invention.

Compared to the well-known Demon vehicle emergency radio system strationsprojekt ARTHUR is new in the invention, a) that the position determining device during the (entire) Operating phase of the vehicle continuously, preferably in predetermined time intervals automatically the momen tane position of the vehicle determined and the determined Transfers position data to the emergency transmitter and b) that the Position data in the emergency transmitter until new items are received tion data stored by the position determining device stay safe.

This measure ensures that even at Un cases in which due to radio shading fect (e.g. in tunnels) a current location on Accident location is not possible, nevertheless an emergency signal with at least approximately correct position data (namely the from the last possible and also carried out local area mood) and sent to the rescue control center can be routed (tunnel in the radio area of a cell Lar cellular network are usually with Leakage cables fitted to the mobile network are closed and which are also building up in these tunnels or the maintenance of radio connections possible chen).

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to FIG. 1, which shows a preferred embodiment of the vehicle emergency radio system according to the invention, in which a vehicle 1 with an active GPS (global positioning system) position determination device 10 , a crash sensor 11 , an emergency transmitter 12 (z. B. in the form of a accordingly modified car phone) and a control unit 13 which connects the other three modules 10-12 together.

The GPS location determination means 10 is connected to a satellite 5 in dung radio link via a first antenna 100 in order to determine, during the operating phase of the vehicle 1 continuously (eg. As at regular time intervals) the location of the vehicle 1.

The determined position data are then fed via the control unit 13 to the emergency transmitter 12 and stored there until the next position data are transferred from the GPS position determining device 10 . This measure ensures that the current position data of vehicle 1 are always available in the emergency transmitter.

In the event of an accident, the crash sensor 11 (for example the airbag sensor) uses predetermined accident criteria to check whether an emergency call signal is to be sent or not. If the criteria are met, the crash sensor 11 issues a release signal via the control unit 13 to the emergency transmitter 12 , which then transmits an emergency call signal via radio via the second antenna 120 together with the currently stored position data of the vehicle 1 .

The emergency call radio signal (with the position data) is received by the antenna 20 of at least one fixed base station 2 of a cellular cellular network and forwarded to a rescue control center 4 via a connected cellular / telephone network 3 and displayed there.

The invention is not based on this embodiment limits, but rather transferable to others.

So it is z. B. possible that when the accident criteria of the crash sensor ( 11 ) cause a new determination of the vehicle position by the position determining device ( 10 ) and that this position data are sent out together with the emergency signal from the emergency radio transmitter.

It is also possible to use a Travelpi instead of a GPS plumbing to determine the location.
