Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for composting organic Waste according to the preamble of claim 1.
Under the term "organic waste" in the sense of the present Invention are all substances of organic origin to understand d. H. not only those that are usually used for composting "soft" organic waste, such as leaves and fruit and vegetable residues, but also hard organic materials such as waste wood, bones, leather or the like.
The invention has for its object the creation of a compost process, with the help of which within a short cycle on a large scale, such waste is cooked to a or forestry and horticultural compost can be processed.
This object is achieved with that reproduced in claim 1 Procedure solved.
It has been shown that controlled temperature control and Moisture loading of the composting mass in the manner indicated the implementation of organic waste can be accelerated in such a way that the implementation in compost also difficult materials in one Time of about twenty hours considered connected and as second implementation phase a sterilization phase can be connected. Surprisingly, it has been shown here that if maintained the process conditions no supply of external heat to achieve the necessary temperature increase is required, but that the Composting compound starts up again automatically after a short time and the temperature on the necessary to kill harmful germs Value increased above 70 ° C. No kicking occurs throughout the procedure all kinds of unpleasant smells.

The device for composting organic waste shown in the drawing consists of a drum-shaped reaction vessel 1 containing a stirrer 2 , the lower half of which is surrounded by a laterally closed housing 3 . The reaction vessel 1 is provided with perforations 4 in the part enclosed by the housing 3 , an unperforated zone 15 being provided in the central region. A steam generator 5 is also provided, which is connected to the housing 3 via a steam supply channel 8, which has a continuously widening shape in its lower part and is provided with perforations 6 leading to the outside in this area. The channel is provided with an adjustable locking slide 11 at its lower end. At its upper end, the channel 8 has a baffle 14 with a continuously narrowing to a slot passage 9 , which is opposite a ver not with perforations 4 area of the reaction vessel 1 , so that between the housing 3 , baffle 14 and passage 9, a collection container 10 is formed for condensate flowing back through the perforations 4 . Finally, there are two control valves 12 for regulating the temperature and the humidification of the reaction mass in addition to the control slide 11 in the upper region of the reaction vessel, and a heater 13 is arranged in the passage 9 for reheating the steam-air mixture as required. In addition, the steam generator 5 is connected directly to the reaction vessel 1 via a line 17 and a blower 16 .
Der erfindungsgemäße Kompostiervorgang gestaltet sich wie folgt. The composting process according to the invention is as follows.
The organic waste to be processed is trimmed and - depending on the amount of the mass present outside or in the vessel 1 - mixed homogeneously. The initiation of composting is performed by adding luftbeladenem water vapor in the water vapor generator of a a temperature between 70 ° and 85 ° C, preferably about 80 ° C, comprising water Bader generator 5 is prepared, and when passing through the continuously widening duct 8 through the perforations 6 Sucks in air from the surrounding atmosphere. The baffle 14 at the transition to the channel 9 causes a swirl for the purpose of evenly distributing the sucked-in air in the rising air laden with water vapor.
The water vapor-laden and heated air rising through the channel 9 reaches the interior of the reaction vessel through the holes 4 and, depending on the initial temperature of the material introduced, causes the initial temperature of around 20 ° C required for the beneficial bacteria to start and thus initiate the composting process as well as the required moisture in the mass, care being taken, by appropriate regulation, to ensure that a slowly continuous heating from the specified starting temperature to a final temperature of at most 70 ° C. results during the reaction time of about twenty hours while maintaining a uniform moistening of the mass . The control takes place by opening and closing the upper control flaps 12 for the purpose of slowing down or accelerating the heating or - in particular in the initial phase before the light-off temperature is reached - by direct supply of warm air laden with steam from the steam generator 5 by means of the fan 16 and, if appropriate, switching on the additional heating 13 and by opening or closing the slide 11 , the humidity being controlled as a function of the escape of moisture condensed into mist from the reaction mass which can be observed via the control flaps 12 . When fog emerges in this sense from the reaction mass, its optimal saturation with moisture is reached, so that the further supply of moisture can be reduced by partially closing the slide 11 . During the reaction, the agitator 2 circulates the reaction mass at irregular intervals depending on the occurrence of temperature differences in the reaction mass.
After about twenty hours of implementation in this way, it will due to a (temporary) drop in temperature in the reaction mass indicating end of the implementation phase, followed by the crowd continue to circulate at irregular intervals for another 20 or so Is left in the reaction vessel for hours. It occurs after a short time start again with an increase in temperature to over 70 ° C, at what temperature in particular the possibly contained in the mass Harmful bacteria are killed. This results in an immediate result usable, natural compost mass.
