Description

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren gemäß Oberbegriff des Patentanspruchs.
In einem Bericht des Bundes und der Länder über nachwachsende Rohstoffe, 2. überarbeitete Auflage (Schriftenreihe des Bundesministers für Ernährung, Landwirtschaft und Forsten, Reihe A: angewandte Wissenschaft, Sonderheft, 1990, Landwirtschaftsverlag GmbH, 4400 Münster-Hillrup) wird von Untersuchungen über den Einsatz von Flachsschäben, die ein kostengünstiges Abfallprodukt darstellen, als Hauptbestandteil von Isolationsmaterial berichtet. Wie dabei vorgegangen werden muß, um zu einem brauchbaren Produkt zu gelangen bzw. zu welchen Ergebnissen die genannten Untersuchungen geführt haben, ist jedoch nicht bekannt geworden.
In der DE 36 41 665 A1 sind aus miteinander verklebten Flachsfasern bestehende Dämmplatten beschrieben. Ebenfalls aus Flachsfasern bestehende Dämmplatten sind aus der WO 91/08332 bekannt. Hierbei finden allerdings reguläre Flachsfasern Verwendung. Diese erweisen sich jedoch als vergleichsweise teurer und dementsprechend als für einen Baudämmstoff zu kostspieliger Rohstoff.
Hiervon ausgehend ist es daher die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung, das gattungsgemäße Verfahren so auszugestalten, daß ein kostengünstiges Produkt entsteht, das einfach verarbeitet werden kann.
Diese Aufgabe wird durch das Kennzeichen des Patentanspruchs gelöst.
Die Kardierung der Flachsschäben gewährleistet eine gute Vernetzung. Die Behandlung mit einer Borsalzlösung gewährleistet eine hohe Feuersicherheit. Gleichzeitig ersetzt die Borsalzlösung hier das beim Kardieren der Flachsschäben ohnehin benötigte Feuchtmittel, so daß in vorteilhafter Weise kein nennenswerter Zusatzaufwand anfällt. Infolge der anschließenden Verdichtung zu einem Vlies läßt sich eine gute Stabilisierung und damit eine leichte Verarbeitung in Form von Matten erreichen.

Claims (1)

  1. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Dämmstoffs, insbesondere Baudämmstoffs, im wesentlichen bestehend aus Flachsfasern, die zumindest teilweise aus Flachsschäben bestehen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Flachsschäben kardiert und dabei mit Borsalzlösung befeuchtet werden, daß das kardierte Flachsmaterial anschließend zu einem Vlies (11) verdichtet wird und daß das Vlies (11) mit Steppnähten (12) und/oder einer Kaschierung versehen wird.
