Abstract

Selective weedkilling in viniculture and fruit growing by applying dil. natural or synthetic acetic acid opt. together with tensides is new. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in destroying green, non-woody parts of weeds. As acetic acid does not penetrate wood parts of plants, weeds growing close to the soil can be eradicated without affecting the useful plants, which are protected by their bark. Acetic acid is ecologically more pref. than known herbicides, as it is produced by environmentally acceptable processes, has no chronic toxicological problems and is readily degraded by a known route.

Description

Agent for selective killing of unwanted plants (herbicide) in viticulture and fruit growing using natural acetic acid or synthetic origin.

Characterized in that dilute acetic acid solutions also in Combination with surfactants can be applied to weeds.

The invention relates to acetic acid by natural processes (Acetic acid fermentation) from sugar or alcohol or on chemical synthetic way can be made. By applying Solutions of acetic acid alone or in combination with Surfactants can kill green, non-woody parts of plants will. Acetic acid does not penetrate woody parts of plants. In the case of woody plants, selective application Weeds in areas near the ground are killed without the Damage crops because they are in the area near the ground End fabrics (bark) are protected.

Depending on the composition and height of the flora, 0.04-0.1 ltr / m 2 of a 2% acetic acid solution is necessary for complete killing. A reduction in weed growth without complete killing can already be achieved with a 1.5% solution. The addition of a surfactant can significantly improve the effect on individual plants where the spray liquid runs off.

There are already a lot of areas for viticulture and fruit growing Mix-synthetically manufactured active ingredients by the Biologi the Federal Agency for Combat (Glufonsina te, glyphosate, simazine, amitrole, calcium cyanamide, atrazine, Dichlobenyl, fluazifop-butyl, MCPA salt, paraquat - see at (2)).

Acetic acid is an intermediate product in normal metabolism arises from the breakdown of sugar, proteins and fats. acetic acid does not occur freely, however, but is immediately received Coenzyme bound (see 1). Free acetic acid is alive for many be poisonous.

The approved herbicide active ingredients are sometimes difficult to break down bar and can be partly in the groundwater or in surface ge get to water where it is potentially harmful to humans or are the natural balance (3). In the concentrated trading form are the active ingredients z. T. harmful to health, so protection clothing is necessary when using (4). At the manufacturer  The active ingredients approved so far are high energy necessary and considerable amounts of waste material fall waste that must be disposed of as special waste.

Acetic acid has the advantage of being through natural processes (Acetic acid fermentation) from vegetable raw materials that can. It is a typical renewable raw material. Because acetic acid is used as a food ingredient there are no problems with chronic toxicology. As a natural substance, acetic acid is extremely easily degradable and Dismantling route 100% known. From an ecological point of view therefore, acetic acid is much cheaper to assess than here conventional chemical-synthetic active ingredients.
