Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a valve seat ring for an internal combustion engine the preamble of claim 1.
Known valve seat rings with an annular inner and outer surface shrunk into the cylinder head. There are tight and therefore expensive Compliance with manufacturing tolerances in the manufacture of the valve seat rings and after casting the cylinder head, it is a complex machining of the Holders for the valve seat rings in the cylinder head required. Come in addition, that the valve seat rings are to be cooled to shrink and the cylinder head may need to be heated.
Occurs on the exhaust side during operation of the internal combustion engine Valve seat rings a high due to their relatively small surface Temperature level, so it is z. B. from DE 34 12 052 known use additional valve seat ring cooling, but the construction effort elevated.
The object of the present invention is therefore to overcome the aforementioned disadvantages to avoid and create a valve seat ring that is simple and can be integrated cost-effectively into the cylinder head and is optimized Heat transfer to adjacent areas of the cylinder head guaranteed.
The problem is solved by the features of claim 1. Features advantageously configuring the invention are in the subclaims named.
The main advantages achieved with the invention are the following: that by pouring the valve seat rings, the usually required Measures during assembly are largely eliminated and that through the design the valve seat rings with an enlarged contact area to the cylinder head improved heat transfer takes place in the cylinder head. So these are Use valve seat rings particularly well on the outlet side. By the Improved heat transfer can be the heat amount in the thermally highest stressed area of the valve seat ring, the contact surface between the valve and valve seat ring can be discharged more quickly into the cylinder head. In addition, the overall rigidity of the structure consists of the cylinder head and Valve seat ring due to the form fit and the shrinkage stresses at Cooling of the cylinder head caused frictional connection greatly improved. For the improved heat transfer is on the one hand the enlarged contact area between valve seat ring and cylinder head, on the other hand the improved material contact through the casting and through the superimposed Shrinkage stress. The increased overall rigidity and the decreased Temperature levels increase the life of the valve seat rings.
The valve seat rings are as a sintered ring or as a cast ring from all Common seat ring materials, e.g. B. high and low alloy Sintered steels or high and low alloyed casting qualities are inexpensive producible. The blanks are then cast when the cylinder head poured into this head. The finishing of the seat ring contour in The area of the contact surface to the valve and in the outlet channel area is as in the known solutions for the final machining of the cylinder head.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to figures.

Fig. 2 die Querschnittsfläche eines bekannten und eines erfindungsgemäßen Ventilsitzringes überlagert, Fig. 2 is superimposed on the cross-sectional area of a prior art and a valve seat ring according to the invention,
Fig. 3 shows the cross-sectional area of a second embodiment of the invention.
The cylinder head 1 of an internal combustion engine has an inlet channel 2 and an outlet channel 3 as gas exchange channels. Lines 4 represent the central longitudinal axes of intake and exhaust valves, which, like some other parts which are not essential to the invention, are not shown. The lines 4 are inclined by the valve angle B with respect to the valve angle bisector W. The cylinder head 1 has a cooling channel 5 for a liquid or gaseous medium and delimits a combustion chamber 6 . In a receptacle 7 , a conventional valve seat ring 8 is shrunk in a known manner. In the transition area between the combustion chamber 6 and the outlet duct 3 , a valve seat ring 9 is cast in a positive and non-positive manner. The inner contour 10 of the two valve seat rings 8 , 9 is almost identical after finishing. The central longitudinal axes Z of the seat rings 8 , 9 coincide with the lines 4. A first boundary plane E 1 assigned to the combustion chamber 6 runs perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis Z of the valve ring 9 and a second boundary plane E 2 is spaced apart therefrom. The annular underside 11 of the valve seat ring 9 facing the combustion chamber 6 lies in the plane E 1 . The level E 2 is determined by the transition of the inner contour 10 into the outlet channel 3 . The underside 11 has a larger area than the comparable underside of the known valve seat ring 8 . As a result, the seat ring rigidity is significantly increased, particularly in this area. The outer annular surface 13 of the valve seat ring 9 and its upper side 14 have a spatial structure. Two constrictions 15 , 16 are arranged on the annular surface 13 . On the one hand, these increase the contact area with the cylinder head 1 , on the other hand, they leave a projection 17 acting as a toothing hook between them. This favors a good form fit between the valve seat ring 9 and cylinder head 1 and secures the valve seat ring 9 against falling out.
The upper side 14 has an extension 18 protruding beyond the plane E2 in the manner of a crown into the cylinder head 1 . This also increases the contact area and the form fit between valve seat ring 9 and cylinder head 1 . It widens conically with respect to the central longitudinal axis Z from the plane E 2 into the cylinder head 1 and is brought up to parts of its circumference close to the cooling channel 5 and thus contributes to good heat dissipation. The constriction 15 arranged adjacent to the plane E 1 has a smaller diameter than the constriction 16 provided in the area of the extension 18 .
The inner diameter of the circular underside 11 is smaller than the diameter of the constriction 15 . The maximum outer diameter of the extension 18 is larger than that of the projection 17 .
The cross-sectional area of the valve seat ring 9 is significantly enlarged in this embodiment compared to that of the known valve seat ring 8 , as the overlay shown for this purpose in FIG. 2 shows, in which the valve seat ring 9 is shown as a cast blank. The reduced inside diameter compared to the valve seat ring 8 is worked after pouring into the cylinder head 1 onto the inside contour 10 . A radius widening 19 on the casting blank serves as a contact surface for the core of the exhaust port when casting the cylinder head 1 in order to fix the valve seat ring 9 during this casting process. The resulting inner contour 10 of the valve seat ring 9 has a smaller area, which is exposed to the hot exhaust gas on the channel side than that of the known valve seat ring 8 . The angle A which arises between the central longitudinal axis Z and the inner contour 20 of the cast blank is somewhat larger than the angle B which arises between the line 4 and the valve angle bisector W. Otherwise it is not possible to move the casting mold out after casting the cylinder head 1 .
In a second embodiment of the invention, the valve seat ring 9 is produced as a sintered part. This inexpensive manufacturing process can be further optimized in terms of costs if the constrictions 15 , 16 are designed cylindrically according to FIG. 3. In both embodiments of the invention, the assembly of the valve seat rings is particularly simple. The pouring eliminates the complex machining of a receptacle for the valve seat ring 9 in the cylinder head 1 . Accordingly, the valve seat ring 9 does not have to be made to measure exactly before pouring. In order to achieve the best possible contact quality with regard to heat transfer and strength, the contact surface of the valve seat ring 9 , which is cast, is pretreated, e.g. B. by sandblasting or the application of a thin aluminum layer.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the distance between the planes E1 and E2 is reduced compared to that shown in FIG. 1. The extension 18 projects only slightly above the plane E2 and the ring surface has only the constriction 15 . The cross-sectional area in this embodiment is almost identical to that of the known valve seat ring. The advantages of the increased heat transfer as a result of the improved material contact between the cylinder head 1 and the valve seat ring 9 are fully retained.
