Abstract

An electronic flash unit for underwater photography has a housing (1) for accommodating the flash control components and a reflector (2) for concentrating the light of two separate flash tubes (3,4) which emit differing light spectra. The tubes (3,4) are of annular or U-shape form and are mounted concentrically in the same plane (E) w.r.t. the reflector centre (M). A separate switch (S) for each tube (3,4) enables target illumination by either or both of the tubes (3,4) to provide suitable compensation for colour distortion arising from filtration by the intervening water. ADVANTAGE - Gives three step control of red content of the light spectrum to compensate for distance from target and correction of colour balance.

Description

A. Technisches SachgebietA. Technical subject

The invention relates to electronic tubes flash units, primarily for use with underwater photography.

B. ProblemstellungB. Problem

The natural filter effect of the water leads depending on the distance of the flash and the camera of the respective subject or object when working under water and in connection with the respective color temperature of the film used to color falsifications.

C. AufgabenstellungC. Task

So there are means and dimensions on the flash units took care to make this more universal make usable that different colors Let temperature levels be selected, which means that the Underwater photography, depending on the object distance Red component of the flash can be influenced.

D. Lösung der AufgabeD. Solution of the task

The general solution to the previously described position is again in claim 1 give; the sub-claims contain advantageous Individual parts or further developments of the tech niche teaching of the main claim, the broadest  also schematically in the associated drawing shown and based on these in detail are subsequently described in more detail.

F. BeschreibungF. Description

The flash unit shown consists in its basic structure of the housing provided with a carrying handle 6 Ge 1 for receiving the components controlling the flash and a reflector 2 assigned to the flash tube 3 .

Röhre I (Pos. 3)
Röhre II (Pos. 4) sowie
Röhren I + II.
To solve the problem with the present invention, it is characterized by the arrangement of at least two flash tubes 3 and 4 with different color temperature in the reflector 2 , assignment of electrical or electronic switching elements in, and corresponding selector switch 5 on the housing 1 . If, for example, one uses an uncorrected tube and a tube corrected by appropriate coloring of the glass, three different areas can be switched for flashing, namely:
Tube I (item 3)
Tube II (item 4) as well
Tubes I + II.

When working with the device described above it is thus possible to color falsifications resulting from un different object distances through the filters effect of water arise through a corresponding de Selection or interconnection of the individual Balance flash tubes.

In a further advantageous embodiment of the inventive principle, it is ultimately also seen that the individual tubes 3 and 4 are located in the same reflector plane "E" , these tubes 3 and 4 being circular, U-shaped or the like. can be formed and should be concentric or symmetrical to each other and / or to the center of the reflector "M" .

Within the scope of the present invention ne ben the same execution as described above also measure those devices where instead of one single reflector / tube unit several next to each other other arranged reflectors with single or flat if multi-tube equipment is used.
