Abstract

The tank for storing and transporting bulk liquids, has its wall formed four longitudinal shell sheets (10), each shaped as an arc of a circle, with each pair of sheets welded to a longitudinal tube (15). Attached to each domed end is a rectangular container frame (14). At two points between the ends are smaller dia. reinforcing tubes (18,19) in pairs at right angles. At the junctions between the outer ends of the reinforcing tubes and the longitudinal tubes are short connecting tubes (20). The connecting tubes, which have ends cropped at an angle fit inside the longitudinal tubes. The ends of the reinforcing tubes pass through both tubes (15,20) and are welded to them. The ends of the longitudinal tubes are also cropped at an angle and welded to the shell sheets (16) attached to the domed ends. The tubes can be used to circulate heating or cooling medium.
