B. im Kraftwerk ist auch ein Schwachgas ausreichend, das mit Luft erzeugt werden und die ggf. mit Sauerstoff angereichert sein kann und im bestehenden Winderhitzer des Hochofens erhitzt wird, wobei der Winderhitzer die fühlbare Wärme des erzeugten Brenn- oder Synthesegases aus dem umgerüsteten Hochofen, welches ja stark überhitzt ist, aufgeheizt wird.It has been found that an existing blast furnace can be converted to a melter gasifier in this simple manner. 1. Verfahren zur Umrüstung eines Hochofens zum Schmelz­ vergaser und Verwendung von Luft als Vergasungsmittel gekennzeichnet durch folgende Verfahrens­ schritte: Umkehrung des Gasstroms im Hochofen durch
  • - Herstellung von Öffnungen im Ofenteil in zwei ver­ schiedenen Höhen: der unteren Schmelzzone (etwa in Höhe des Kohlensacks), sowie der oberen Hälfte des Schachtes und Einbau von neuen Windformen mit Düsen­ stock und Blasformen (gekühlt oder ungekühlt) und einer dazugehörigen Ringleitung,
  • - Umstellung der alten Windformen zu Gasabzügen und ggf. Anschluß der Ableitung der Ringleitung an die/den Winderhitzer,
  • - Verschließen der oberen Dichtgasleitungen des Hochofens.
