Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Trennen einer Emulsion. The invention relates to a method for separating a Emulsion.
Emulsions, that is, dispersions in which there is a flow liquid in the form of droplets distributed in another are in a variety of forms. Oil/ Water emulsions are used in metal, for example processing companies as coolants and lubricants puts. To process used emulsions thermal and chemical processes known in which however, sludges arise, their preparation and depo never cause significant costs.
The invention has for its object a method and a device for separating emulsions create that are inexpensive and in which sludge do not arise.
According to the invention this object is achieved by Zer dust the emulsion into the finest droplets, their Diameter is equal to or less than the diameter is the droplet of the dispersed phase of the emulsion, Guide the droplets through an electric field and Separate the two phases of the emulsion using the difference caused by the electric field influencing the trajectory of the droplets.
The emulsion to be separated is preferably either by means of a high-frequency rotating plate dusts, the electric field through a Tel is generated concentrically surrounding ring electrodes, or atomized through a two-component nozzle, where the electric field by a plate electrode is produced.
The type of electric field to be used depends on the type of emulsion, especially that of the emulga tors and the electrical double layer of the droplet Chen from the dispersed phase. A homogeneous field can be different for separating the droplets Phase should be sufficient. Then two parallel ones are sufficient Electrode plates. Are these droplets hardly or not loaded, an inhomogeneous field may be required and also coronating electrodes, resulting in a different loading of the droplets depending on the level of the dielectric constant.
The proposed method is preferably under Vacuum carried out. Preferably not be out sufficiently separated fractions to be separated again guided.
A device for separating the emulsion stands out by an electric motor in the horizontal high-frequency rotating driven tel ler, one vertically on the center of the plate established a leading the emulsion to be separated Tube, something concentrically surrounding the plate Ringelek arranged below the level of the plate trode and point to the plate that of that of the Ring electrode generated electric field in their Trajectory affected sheet separating droplets.
In the case of an alternative training, one is for the finest atomization suitable two-component nozzle, adjustable Auxiliary nozzles for the formation of an aerosol stream, white tere, ensuring a laminar edge flow and wetting the walls of the system before the separation the additional nozzles that exclude phases, plates shaped, almost parallel to the flat aerosol flow arranged electrodes and facing the nozzle, which from electric field differently influenced droplet plates separating different phases hen.
Means are also preferably provided for this purpose serve, not sufficiently separated fraction for renewed Separation.
Dabei zeigt:Further features and advantages of the invention result itself from the description in which the invention Procedure based on schematic representations correspond chender devices is explained. It shows:
Fig. 1 ein erstes Ausführungsbeispiel der Er findung, Fig. 1 shows a first exemplary embodiment of the invention,
Fig. 2 ein zweites Ausführungsbeispiel der Er findung in einer Schnittdarstellung, und Fig. 2 shows a second embodiment of the invention in a sectional view, and
Fig. 3, the embodiment shown in Fig. 2, for example, in another section view.
First of all, reference is made to FIG. 1: The emulsion to be separated is passed through a horizontally oriented tube centrally onto a plate 2 or one that is driven in high frequency by an electric motor 3 . The centrifugal forces cause the emulsion to be separated to reach the periphery of the plate 2 , where it is thrown radially outwards to form the finest droplets, the diameter of which is essentially dependent on the speed of rotation.
A ring electrode 6 arranged on insulators 4 is arranged concentrically surrounding the plate somewhat above or below the plane of the plate 2 . This ring electrode creates an electric field that the droplets pass through the phases of the emulsion. The different dielectric constant of the droplets of the individual phases has a different effect on the electric field on them: if, for example, an oil / water emulsion is to be separated, the oil droplets and the water droplets of the swarm of droplets sprayed from the plate 2 are influenced differently: Negatively charged oil droplets are repelled by the negatively charged ring electrode and are accelerated upwards. The water droplets, however, are essentially unaffected by the electric field and accelerated downwards due to the gravitational force. Sheets 5 formed in a ring separate the droplets of the two phases from each other, containers 5 adjoining the sheets serve to hold the individual phases.
In the example shown in Figs. 2 and 3 for execution supplied through a pipe 8 in a two-component nozzle Emulsion 7 which, via a further pipe 8, an auxiliary gas, for example air, is supplied atomized. In the drawing, flat, adjustable auxiliary nozzles 10 can be seen , which form the aerosol stream formed. This aerosol flow with "fla chem" flow cross-section is guided between two plate electrodes 12 , in which the phases are separated due to the different dielectric constants.
Droplets of different trajectories meet plates 13 , the curvature of which leads to the droplets being discharged to the outside. It forms a downward ablau fender and dripping from the sheet metal closed film, which is collected by funnel-shaped containers 14 . The gas free from the droplets of both phases is drawn off via nozzle 15 .
Further nozzles 11 are also indicated, which allow an adjustable, laminar edge flow, by means of which the wetting of the walls of the system is excluded. Wetting of the electrodes can be prevented in a corresponding manner.
Instead of the nozzles 11 which influence the aerosol flow, inhomogeneous alternating electrical fields, in particular quadrapole alternating fields, can also be used. By means of such an electrical curtain, an aerosol stream of charged droplets, which tends to spread, can be enclosed in a room or guided in a room.
The invention is based on the basic idea that it is necessary to separate an emulsion whose Increase mobility. This is through an atomization ben of the emulsion to fine droplets, whereby the atomization should be so fine that each one Droplets consist of only one phase at a time. These now single-phase droplets have the typical egg properties of this one phase, for example the respective dielectric constant of the water or Oils that behave like 40 to 1. Because the dielectric the constant is determining which effect an electric field on the trajectory of such Droplet is a separation of the swarm of droplets possible in oil and water droplets. With a negative Charging the oil droplets will make them negative by the charged ring electrode repelled by a electrical field essentially not affected Water droplets, on the other hand, become single in their trajectory Lich influenced by the force of gravity.
If an appropriate emulsifier is present, the Polarity of the oil droplets can also be positive.
It may be advantageous to follow the procedure under pressure to keep the flow resistances small to hold one. Such a vacuum has the other Advantage that the fact that the two phases of an emulsion usually given Temperature have a different vapor pressure. In an oil / water emulsion, for example, has water the higher vapor pressure. At the proposed door the phases of an emulsion by atomization selective evaporation of one phase Further facilitate the separation process, with means for Condensation of the vapor of this phase must be provided.
