Abstract

The ignition system has several ignition signal transmitters and a connected evaluation and/or amplifier circuit with ignition coils controlled from it. At the sec. windings of the coils respectively is connected a sparking plug for different cylinders of the ic engine, giving two spark plugs per cylinder. The number of the ignition coils (5-8) is the same as the number of cylinders (1-4), so that each cylinder is assigned two sparking plugs. The plugs are connected to different ignition coils, and the ignition coils are controlled in simultaneous pairs.
