Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a metal of semi-finished products, such as sheet metal, wire, strip or pipe, from a single melt process produced ingot-shaped starting material, which has a melting temperature tur above 800 ° C, by forming, such as forging, rolling or drawing and with an intermediate treatment at elevated temperature.
It is known to use a wire made of pure metallic platinum, the only common Ver contains impurities in such a way that one casts a Ingots by round hammers, d. H. Forging, then rolling in a diamond Caliber and drawing formed into wire. Usually a combination of ver different process steps applied. Solidified with increasing degree of deformation the platinum is very strong, d. H. the flow required for further forming tension and tensile strength increase. Not only is associated with it increased energy requirements for the forming process, but also the construction of Residual stresses that lead to crack formation and thus to the failure of the platinum can. To restore the platinum to a plastic state before if it fails due to cracking, intermediate annealing takes the form of recrystals annealing annealing at temperatures of about 700 ° C for about 2 hours turned on the manufacturing process, resulting in a easier formability results and larger cross-sectional reductions are achieved to let. Since surface contamination always occurs during rolling and drawing, with every recrystallization annealing there is a risk of diffusion of unwanted metallic contaminants, such as. B. iron, nickel or Chrome. Therefore, the platinum strand is stripped before each intermediate annealing.
Similar conditions as the example of the production of a Platinum wire from a cast platinum ingot were kicked out also for nickel, tantalum, niobium, copper, gold, silver, palladium or Alloys of these metals - except the hardenable ones - especially with niobium 99% zirconium 1%, silver 97% copper 3%, silver 90% copper 10%, Gold 92% silver 8%, gold 90% silver 10%, gold 95% nickel 5%, Palladium 70% silver 30%, palladium 50% silver 50%, platinum 99 to 80% rhodium 1 to 20%.
The object of the present invention is to provide an inexpensive method for Production of a metallic semi-finished product with uniformly fine-grained metal structure without grain-fine additives from a cast metal bar to sit down.
This problem is solved for the charak in the preamble of claim 1 terized processes according to the invention in that the starting material by min at least 80%, based on its initial dimensions, cold worked, then min least a temperature treatment in the range of 150 to 350 ° C during one Subjected to duration of at least 10 hours and then obtained Intermediate product cold in several steps without intermediate annealing is deformed.
The long-term temperature treatment is preferred for a period of approximately 14 hours.
While an intermediate annealing in the form of a recrystallization annealing Ge Joining changes occur due to the formation of recrystallization nuclei and their Growth occurs only in the heat treatment according to the invention heal and rearrange lattice defects such as point defects and dislocations and it is also with this temperature treatment a relieving of stress connected.
In the method according to the invention, it has been found that the tem temperature treatment available intermediate by more than 90%, based on its initial dimensions, is cold worked. This cold deformation down to the final dimension expediently takes place in several individual steps, with no intermediate annealing is switched on between the individual steps.
The result of the method according to the invention is a semi-finished product with a very fine one Grain that is used, for example, in the manufacture of wire as a semi-finished product in drawing partially has an extension. It is cheaper because Re Crystallization anneals are saved and also the risk of on diffusion of impurities, as they occur during recrystallization annealing can be avoided. The structure of a manufactured according to the invention The platinum semi-finished product is stable up to an annealing temperature of approx 1200 ° C. The strength of semifinished products produced according to the invention is higher after reshaping to final dimensions as the strength of semi-finished products, which under a circuit of recrystallization annealing in the manufacturing process represents is. If the semifinished product produced according to the invention finally according to Ver is subjected to a final annealing to its final dimension, that is his Strength comparable to conventionally produced semi-finished products, but possesses the semi-finished product according to the invention due to its fine grain a higher elongation, which is up to 35% for example with a platinum wire with a wire diameter of 0.3 mm.
Nachfolgend wird die Erfindung an fünf Ausführungsbeispielen beschrieben:The invention is described below using five exemplary embodiments:
A cast platinum ingot, the purity of which was 99.999%, was used to produce a platinum wire. The dimensions of the billet were 30 mm × 30 mm × 200 mm. It was cold rolled in diamond calibers to a cross section of 3.4 mm × 3.4 mm. This product was kept at a temperature of 300 ° C for 14 hours. The intermediate product thus obtained was then cold worked by drawing in several steps to a final diameter of 0.5 mm. The platinum wire produced in this way has a strength of approximately 650 N / mm 2 . To visualize the fine-grain structure, the wire was annealed at 700 ° C for about 2 hours. Fig. 1 shows a cross-sectional micrograph through the wire after this annealing. The strength of the wire was then about 150 N / mm 2 . A comparison of the thermal voltage of the starting material with that of the material treated according to the invention has revealed no measurable deviation, from which it can be seen that no impurities have got into the platinum wire during the manufacturing process according to the invention.
Die Festigkeit des Drahtes betrug dann etwa 370 N/mm2.An electron beam-melted tantalum ingot was used to produce a tantalum wire, the purity of which was 99.99%. The dimensions of the ingot were: diameter 68 mm, length 100 mm. It was cold rolled in diamond calibers to a cross section of 10 mm × 10 mm. This product was coated with a copper-tin alloy and then held at a temperature of 300 ° C for 14 hours. The intermediate thus obtained was then cold worked by drawing in several steps to a final diameter of 0.1 mm tantalum wire; the temperature treatment described above was repeated once between two deformation steps in order to eliminate the brittleness of the jacket material. Finally, the copper-tin alloy sheath was removed by pickling, resulting in the bare tantalum wire. The tantalum wire obtained in this way with a diameter of 0.1 mm had a strength of approximately 2100 N / mm 2 . To visualize the fine-grained structure, this wire was annealed under a vacuum of 10 -4 bar at a temperature of 950 ° C. for 1 hour. Fig. 2 shows a micrograph through the wire in the longitudinal direction after this annealing. The strength of the wire was then about 370 N / mm 2 .
The intermediate product obtained was then drawn to a final diameter of 0.95 mm in several steps. The strength of the wire drawn to the final diameter was 670 N / mm². To visualize the fine-grained structure, a final annealing was carried out at 600 ° C. under a hydrogen atmosphere for 45 minutes. The strength of the wire was then 310 N / mm 2 . Fig. 3 shows a cross-sectional micrograph of the wire after the final annealing.
To produce a wire made of a gold-nickel alloy with a nickel content of 5% by weight, the starting point was an ingot cast in the strand, which had a diameter of 7 mm and a length of 100 mm. This ingot was cold worked to a diameter of 3 mm in several drawing steps and then kept at a temperature of 250 ° C. for a period of 14 hours. The intermediate product obtained was then drawn to a final diameter of 0.95 mm in several steps. The strength of the wire drawn to the final diameter was 690 N / mm 2 . To visualize the fine-grained structure, a final annealing was carried out at 550 ° C. under a hydrogen atmosphere for 45 minutes. The strength of the wire was then 400 N / mm 2 . Fig. 4 shows a cross-sectional micrograph of the wire after the final annealing.
