Abstract

1. A layer winding for transformers provided at its front end with leads (8) equipped with an additional insulation (9) in addition to the winding conductor insulation, and which consists of winding layers (1, 2, 3) radially-flanked on both sides by further winding layers, and with cooling channels (5) separated from one another by an insulating wall (4) between the winding layers (1, 2, 3), arranged radially one-above-another, and kept open by spacer strips (7), characterised in that - the insulating walls (4), which each flank a lead (8), are curved in the region of this lead (8) radially inwards or outwards, as the case may be, from that winding layer (1, 2, 3) which supports the latter, by special spacer strips (7') along their entire axial length ; - that in contrast to the winding layer (1, 2 or 3) which retains its cross-sectional circular ring shape, the insulating walls (4) differ in their cross-sectional shape which is otherwise likewise circularly ring-shaped ; - that the shortest distance between the insulating wall (4) and the additional insulation (9) of the lead (8) in the region of said lead is smaller than the internal width between the insulating wall (4) and the adjacent winding layer (1, 2 or 3) in this region but is equal to at least half the internal width between the insulating wall (4) and the adjacent winding layer (1, 2 or 3) outside of this region ; and - that the sum of the radial thickness - corresponding to the internal width - of the spacer strips (7, 7') which flank the same insulating wall (4) both internally and externally is equal in the normal peripheral zone and in the region of the leads, where the thickness of the thicker, special spacer strips (7') is reduced at their end adjacent to the additional insulation (9) of the lead (8) by the thickness of the additional insulation (9).
