Abstract
A method for preventing premature detonation of a destruction charge (which can be detonated by means of an adjustable delay detonator) of a projectile which is fired from a firing barrel by a propulsion charge and a detonator arrangement for carrying out this method are created, in the case of which method and arrangement a prior calculation of desired limit values of the speed and/or of the acceleration of the projectile at the time when said projectile leaves the muzzle is carried out in advance and at a second point in time which corresponds to a minimum separation of the projectile from the firing barrel, and in the case of which method and arrangement, once the propulsion charge has detonated, the corresponding actual values of the projectile are then determined by elements which respond to acceleration, and are compared with the desired limit values, the detonation path of the delay detonator to the destruction charge being released only and not until all the determined actual values are within the acceptable ranges predetermined by the associated desired limit values.
