    Patentansprüche
    1. Thermisch verbindbare synthetische
    Zweikomponentenfaser mit einer Länge von mindestens ungefähr 3 mm, die für die Verwendung beim Mischen einer flockigen Masse (fluff pulp) geeignet ist und eine innere Kernkomponente und eine äußere Scheidenkomponente umfaßt, wobei
    - die Kernkomponente ein Polyolefin oder einen Polyester umfaßt,
    - die Scheidenkomponente ein Polyolefin umfaßt, und
    - die Kernkomoonente einen höheren Schmelzpunkt
    als die Scheidenkomponente hat. '■
    2. Synthetische Zweikomponentenfaser nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie durch den Einbau eines oberflächenaktiven Mittels in die Scheidenkomponente, beispielsweise eines Fettsäureesters von Glyceriden, eines Fett sau ream ides, eines Po IygIycolesters, eines pol yethoxyIierten Amides, eines nicht-ionischen oberflächenaktiven Kittels (surfactant), eines kationischen oberflächenaktiven Mittels oder einer Mischung der angegebenen und/oder anderer Verbindungen, aie normalerweise als Emulgatoren, oberflächenaktive Mittel oder Detergenzien verwendet werden, dauerhaft im wesentlichen hydrophil gemacht worden ist.
    3. Synthetische Zweikomponentenfaser nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das oberflächenaktive Mittel in der Scheidenkomponente in einer Menge von

    ungefähr 0,1 - 5 %, bevorzugt ungefähr 0,5 - 2 %,
    bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht der Faser, eingebaut ist.
    4. Synthetische Zweikomponentenfaser nach Anspruch oder 3,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Scheidenkomponente ein Et hy L &ngr;inyLacetat- oder Et hy LenacryL saure-Copolymer oder ein anderes hydrophiles Copolymer oder hydrophiles
    Polymer umfaßt.
    5 . ■Synthetisehe Zweikomponentenfaser nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie ungefähr 0,1 - 5 %, bevorzugt ungefähr 0,5 - 2 % Vinylacetat oder
    Acrylsäure, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht der Faser, enthält.
    6, Synthetische Iweikomponentenfaser nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5 ,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Schmelzpunkt der
    Ke rnkosiponent e mindestens 150 C beträgt und der der Sehe idenkOiTiponente 1400C oder weniger beträgt.
    7. Synthetische Zweikomponentenfaser nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Schmelzpunkt der
    Kernkomponente mindestens 21O0C beträgt und der der Scheidenkomponente 1700C oder weniger beträgt.
    5. Synthetische Zweikowponentenfaser nach einem der Ansprücne 1 bis 7,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Scheidenkomponente ein Polyolefin, beispielsweise Polyethylen hoher Dichte, Polyethylen geringer Dichte, lineares Polyethylen
    geringer Dichte, Polypropylen, Poly(1-buten) oder
    Copolymere oder Mischungen der vorstehend genannten Verbindungen enthält.
    9. Synthetische Zweikomponentenfaser nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8/
    dadurch gekennzeichnet/ daß die Kernkomponente ein hochschmeLzendes Polyolefin/ beispielsweise Polypropylen oder Poly(4-methyI-1-penten) oder ein Polyester/ beispielsweise Poly(et hylen-terephtha I at), Poly(butylenterephtha I at) oder Poly(1,4-cyclohexylen-dimethylenterephtha I at) oder Copolymere oder Mischungen davon umf aßt.
    10. Synthetische Zweikomponentenfaser nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet/ daß (a) die Kern- und (b) die Scheidenkomponenten umfassen:
    - (a) Polypropylen und (b) entweder Polyethylen
    hoher Dichte/ Polyethylen geringer Dichte, Lineares Polyethylen geringer Dichte/ Polypropylen oder Poly(1-buten), oder
    - (a) ?oly(4-methyl-1-penten) oder ein Polyester
    (beispielsweise PolyCethylen-terephthalat), Po Iy(buty I en-terephtha lat) oder Poly(1/4-cyc lohexylen-dimethylen-terephthalat)) und (b) entweder Polypropylen, Polyethylen hoher Dichte, Polyethylen geringer Dichte, lineares Polyethylen geringer Dichte, Polypropylen oder Poly(1-buten).
    .11. Synthetische Zwe i komponentenf ase r nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 10,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Gewichtsverteilung der Scheiden/Kernkomponenten von ungefähr 10:90 bis 90:10, insbesondere von ungefähr 30:70 bis 70:30 und bevorzugt von ungefähr 40:60 bis 65:35 beträgt.
    12. Synthetische Zweikomponentenfaser nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bi s 11,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie eine Länge von ungefähr 3-24 mm, insbesondere ungefähr 5 - 20 mm und bevorzugt ungefähr 6 - 18 mm hat.
    13. Synthetische Zweikomponentenfaser nach Anspruch imt einer Länge von ungefähr 6 mm.
    14. Synthetische Zwei korsponentenf aser nach Anspruch mit einer Länge von ungefähr 12 mm.
    15. Synthetische Zweikomponentenfaser nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 14 mit einer Feinheit von ungefähr 1-7 dtex/ insbesondere ungefähr 1,5 - 5 dtex, bevorzugt ungefähr 1,7 - 3,3 dtex und besonders bevorzugt ungefähr 1,7 - 2,2 dtex.
    1&oacgr;. Synthetische Zweikomponentenfaser nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 15,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie bis zu einem Grad von ungefähr 0 - 10 KräuseLungen/cm, bevorzugt von ungefähr 0 - 4 Kräuselungen/cm, strukturiert worden ist.
    17. Synthetische Zweikomponentenfaser nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 16,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie einen zirkulären, ovalen oder unregelmäßigen Querschnitt, bevorzugt einen zirkulären Querschnitt, aufweist.
    18. Synthetische Zweikomponentenfaser nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 17,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die zwei Komponenten in einer konzentrischen oder azentrischen Konfiguration angeordnet sind.

    19. Verfahren zum Herstellen thermisch verbindbarer synthetischer Zweikomponentenfasern vom Scheiden-und-Kerntyp, die zur Verwendung beim Mischen von flockigen Massen geeignet sind, wobei die Fasern eine Länge von wenigstens ungefähr 3 mm aufweisen und eine Polyolefin umfassende Scheidenkomponente und eine ein Polyolefin oder einen Polyester umfassende Kernkomponente haben, wobei das Verfahren umfaßt:
    - Schmelzen der Grundbestandteile der Kern- und
    Scheidenkomponenten,
    - bevorzugt das Inkorporieren eines oberflächenaktiven Mittels oder eines hydrophilen Polymers oder Copolymers in die Scheidenkomponente,
    - Spinnen der niedrig schmelzenden Scheidenkomponente und der hoch schmelzenden Kernkomponente
    zu einem Spinnbündel von Zweikomponenten-
    f ilament en,
    - Strecken des Sündeis aus Filamenten,
    - bevorzugt Kräuseln der Fasern,
    - Trocknen und Fixieren der Fasern, und
    - Schneiden der Fasern zu einer gewünschten Länge.
    20. Verfahren nach Anspruch 19,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Fasern durch
    Inkorporieren eines oberflächenaktiven Mittels in die Scheidenkomponente, beispielsweise eines Fettsäureesters eines Glycerides, eines Fettsäureami des, eines
    Polyg I ycolesters, eines pol yethoxyIierten Amides, eines nicht-ionischen oberflächenaktiven Mittels, eines
    kationischen oberflächenaktiven Mittels, oder einer
    Mischung der angegebenen und/oder weiterer Verbindungen, die normalerweise als Emulgatoren, oberflächenaktive
    Mittel oder Detergenzien verwendet werden, dauerhaft im wesentlichen hydrophil gemacht werden.
    21. Verfahren nach Anspruch 20,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das oberflächenaktive Mittel in die Scheidenkomponente in einer Menge von ungefähr 0,1 - 5 %, bevorzugt ungefähr 0,5 - 2 %, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht der Fasern, eingebaut wird.
    22. Verfahren nach Anspruch 20 oder 21,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Scheidenkomponente der Fasern ein Ethyl vinylacetat- oder Ethylenacrylsäure-Copolymer oder ein anderes hydrophiles Copolymer oder Polymer umfaßt.
    23. Verfahren nach Anspruch 22,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Fasern ungefähr 0,1 5 S, bevorzugt ungefähr 0,5 - 2 % Vinylacetat oder Acrylsäure, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht der Fasern, U iT; f 3 S S S &Pgr; .
    24. Verfahren nach einer?! der Ansprüche 19 bis 23, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß &oacgr;&zgr;&ngr; Schmelzpunkt der Ke rnkornponent e mindestens 150°C und der der Scheidenkomponente 140°C oder weniger beträgt.
    25. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 23, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Schmelzpunkt der Kernkomponente mindestens 210 C und der der Seneidenkomoonente 170 C oder weniger beträgt.
    26. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 25, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Scheidenkomponente ein Polyolefin, beispielsweise Polyethylen hoher Dichte, Polyethylen geringer Dichte, lineares Polyethylen geringer Dichte, Polypropylen, Poly(1-buten), oder Copolymere oder Mischungen der vorstehend genannten Verbindungen umfaßt.

Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 26/ dadurch gekennzeichnet/ daß die Kernkomponente ein hochschmeLzendes PoLyoLefin/ beispieLsweise PoLypropylen oder PoLy(4-methyL-1-penten)/ oder ein PoLyester, beispieLsweise PoLy(ethyLen-terephthaLat), PoLy(butyLenterephthaLat) oder PoLy(1/4-cycLohexyLen-dimethyLenterephtha Lat)/ oder CopoLymere oder Mischungen der vorstehend genannten Verbindungen umfaßt.
    28. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 27/ dadurch gekennzeichnet/ daß (a) die Kern- und (b) die Scheidenkomponenten umfassen:
    - (a) PoLypropyLen und (b) entweder PoLyethyLen hoher Dichte, PoLyethyLen geringer Dichte/ Lineares PoLyethyLen geringer Dichte, PoLypropyLen oder PoLy(1-buten)/ oder
    - (a) PoLy(4-methy 1-1-penten) oder ein PoLyester (beispieLsweise PoLy(ethyLen-terephthaLat), PoLy(butyLen-terephthaLat) oder PoLy(1/4-cycLohexyLen-dimethyLen-terephthaLat)) und
    (b) entweder PoLypropyLen/ PoLyethyLen hoher Dichte, PoLyethyLen geringer Dichte, Lineares PoLyethyLen geringer Dichte, PoLypropyLen oder PoLy(1-buten).
    29. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 28, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Gewichtsvertei Lung der Sc heiden/Kernkomoonenten von ungefähr 10:90 bis 90:10, insbesondere von ungefähr 30:70 bis 70:30 und bevorzugt von ungefähr 40:6 0 bis 65:35 beträgt.
    30. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 29/ dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Filamente entweder unter Verwendung herkömmLichen SchmeLzspinnens oder Kurzspinnens, bevorzugt herkömmlichen Schmelzspinnens, gesponnen werden.
    31. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 30, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Fasern einen zirkulären, Ovalen oder unregelmäßigen Querschnitt, bevorzugt einen zirkulären Querschnitt haben.
    32. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 31, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die zwei Komponenten in einer konzentrischen oder azentrischen Konfiguration angeordnet sind.
    33. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 32, dadurch gekennze'ichnet, daß das Bündel von Filamenten unter Verwendung eines "off-Iine"-Streckverf ahrerts gestreckt werden.
    34. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 33, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Streckverhältnis ungefähr 2,5:1 bis 4,5:1, bevorzugt ungefähr 3,0:1 bis 4,0:1 bet ragt.
    35. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 34, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Fasern zu einer Feinheit von ungefähr 1 - 7 dtex, insbesondere ungefähr 1,5 dtex, bevorzugt ungefähr 1,7 - 3,3 dtex und besonders bevorzugt ungefähr 1,7 - 2,2 dtex gestreckt werden.
    3&oacgr;. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 35, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Fasern bis zu einem Grad von ungefähr 0-10 KräuseLungen/cm, bevorzugt ungefähr 0-4 Kräuselungen/cm, strukturiert werden.
    37. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 19 bis 36, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Fasern zu einer Länge von ungefähr 3-24 mm, insbesondere ungefähr 5-20 mm, bevorzugt ungefähr 6-18 mm, geschnitten werden.
    38. Verfahren nach Anspruch 37,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Fasern zu einer Länge von ungefähr 6 mm geschnitten werden.
    39. Verfahren nach Anspruch 37,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Fasern zu einer Länge von ungefähr 12 mm geschnitten werden.
