Description
Process for the production of durable, finely divided fat solvents containing mixtures. -It is known to use hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, Nitrobenzene, aniline or other substituted hydrocarbons, fats and oils, Fatty acids, aromatic carboxylic acids, essential oils using solutions of alkali salts to bring the sulfoleate into such a finely divided state that segregation, even after a very long time, it does not occur and even with one proportionately very high percentage of the organic compounds mentioned when diluting the available mixtures with water no turbidity or precipitation occurs. It is also known to use alkali soaps, in particular potash soaps, to produce such mixtures from derivatives of hydrocarbons. Those made by both methods Mixtures have become very well established in technology. With today's shortage But there is a strong need for saponifiable fats and oils, soap and sulfoleates to be replaced by other substances.
In accordance with this need, detergents have been brought onto the market, where fat solvents, mainly carbon tetrachloride or benzene or its homologues, in clay, magnesia, kieselguhr or similar materials are absorbed. Due to the adsorption on the mentioned minerals a fine distribution was achieved of the fat solvent achieved and also reduced evaporation. After all, it was the evaporation is so strong that large losses are expected after long periods of storage had to be, and that the packaging question caused great difficulties. Of the The main drawback with these remedies, however, was that one was forced to use the Wash water-insoluble compounds to be used, removed from the laundry very carefully had to be rinsed out or, if rinsing was inadequate, remained in the textile fiber and damaged it or made it look unsightly.
It has now been found that one can also use potash and soda waterglass - obtainable gelatinous mixtures containing fat solvents contained in extremely fine form.
The jelly used for this purpose is made from liquid potash or sodium silicate in a known manner by adding (about 10 to 15 percent) Potassium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate or sodium carbonate are obtained with the addition the latter so limited that the water glass is not solid, but rather only takes on the desired gelatinous texture. While liquid, Highly viscous water glass can hardly be emulsified with fat solvents and the emulsion If it is destroyed again after a short time, a gelatinous water glass can be formed Emulsify very light and durable with most fat solvents. Particularly It is important that emulsions of the best and up to a percent and above be obtained Most economical grease solvents carbon tetrachloride are available.
Beispiel i.Example i.
In a kettle with a powerful agitator, 150 kg of 96 to 98 percent carbonate of potash are mixed with about 300 to 100 kg of water glass until the resulting solid mass is completely uniform, which can be achieved in a very short time. Then, with continued Ri'threrl @@, as much water glass is allowed to run afterwards1;:; until there are ooo kg of it in the: gavaei ". When the whole mass is completely uniform and translucent, one gradually adds zoo kg of carbon tetrachloride and stirs until a translucent, even mixture has been obtained again. If this is too firm for use, 5 to 10 percent caustic potash solution is added until the desired consistency is reached. The product forms a very excellent wash. and bleach: Example a.
The uniform jelly obtained from 150 kg of 96- to 98-percent carbonate of potash and about 100 kg of water glass according to Example 1 is agitated with 100 kg of benzene and, especially when adding the last remains, facilitates emulsification by adding small amounts of alkali.
By adding more fatty acids and alkalis or by Of course, you can also add fatty detergents to the addition of ready-to-use soaps. which significantly increase the washing result.
