a low pressure steam heater. The invention enables the installation of radiators
for low-pressure steam heating systems in low-lying rooms at the same height or
deeper than the boiler and the automatic return of the in these radiators
formed condensation.
The advantage of the subject matter of the invention over previous ones
Facilities of this type consists in its simplicity and the resulting operational reliability.
The work of the establishment consists only of an alternate one
Raising and lowering a float by a few millimeters. The float consists of
three hollow cylinders of equal volume, rigidly connected to one another, which are in one
Collection and. one mounted above the water pressure line and protected against heat loss
Suction container.
e und Schwimmer a ausfüllend.
In the drawing, f represents the collecting tank and e the suction tank for the condensed water. In the former there are the two floats b and c, which are firmly connected to one another by the rod P, in the latter the float a, which is connected to the float b by the linkage d is firmly connected and by means of the rod i carries the valve cone of the valve k. The rod d is guided through the guide o attached to the collecting container f and the stuffing box n located under the suction container c. The operation of the device is as follows: When the collecting tank f is empty, the 3 floats a, b and c are in their lowest position, so that steam can flow into the upper suction tank e through the line g coming from the boiler when the valve k is now open. The condensate flowing finely through pipe h into the collecting tank will first set the lower float c under water. This does not lift the float system, however, since the weight of the entire rod P, d, i including the 3 floats a, b, c to be lifted is such that it equals the weight of the water displaced by the floats. So as soon as the water in the container f up to. If the middle w of the middle float b has risen, the entire float system will lift by the stroke of the valve k, which is only a few millimeters, and close it and thus prevent the further entry of steam into the container c. The vapor in e will now need a certain time to condense as a result of the slow release of heat caused by the thermal protective cover zra. During this time f continues to fill with condensation water, so that float b is completely submerged in water. If the heat protection cover were not present, the steam would condense almost immediately after closing the valve k as a result of the rapid release of heat through the jacket and bottom surface to the outside air. With this rapid succession of steam closure and condensation of the steam in the suction container e, the float b in the collecting container f would not yet be able to be completely re-submerged in the latter due to the slow flow of condensation water in the latter. When the water is sucked out of the collecting tank, swimmer b would then be out of the water before swimmer a is at least halfway under water. As a result, the float device would now be lowered, since only float e is under water, but the weight of the entire float arrangement equals the weight of the water displaced by the volume of the float. By lowering the float, however, valve k would be opened again, and the resulting steam would break the vacuum in e, so that the water could not be lifted from f to e. So the facility would not be operational. The thickness of the heat protection cover is therefore chosen so that condensation of the steam in e only takes place when the water level in the container f has risen to the mark v, so the swimmer b is also completely under water. Then, as a result of the negative pressure caused by the condensation in the suction container e, the water from f is passed through the check valve y and the suction line z by means of the pipe section L under the upper float a into the space u, first this and then the small space t between the suction container e and swimmer filling in a. As a result, the latter is also completely submerged in water, while the water level in the collecting container f has meanwhile fallen back to the mark w. At this moment there are 21 /, swimmers under water, namely the upper and lower completely, and the middle half. As the water rises further in the suction tank e, the water level in the collecting tank f will fall accordingly and the float b will step completely out of the water. Now the valve k cannot open again, however, because the two floats a and c are under water and thus the entire rod, which is equal in weight to the weight of the water displaced by i1 / 2 floats, is still in its upper position must remain. Only when the water level in f has sunk to the mark x , so that there are only i1 / 2 swimmers under water, namely a completely and c halfway, will the entire rod P, d, i with the floats a, b , lower c again, open the valve k and thus cancel the negative pressure in the container e due to the newly entering steam. The condensed water in the container e now flows due to its own weight through the check valve q and the pipe s provided with a vent y into the boiler, and the process described above begins again.
