Description
Crankcases for explosion engines. The well-known explosion engines use to drive the control organs, oil pump, gearbox and magnet apparatus Gears, either alone or combined with chains. The main drive gear is on Attached to the end of the crankshaft: This arrangement implies that the number the transmission gears to the engine's ancillary equipment is large. The. Consequence of that is excessive noise, loss of power and reduced operational safety of the Machine. The latter is also caused by the accumulation of large quantities of oil in the crankcase caused by oiling in particular when the engine is tilted. These evils are eliminated by the present invention.
The drawing shows a two-cylinder engine, which is used for small vehicles, in three sections. The housing of the change operation is cast in one piece with the crankcase. The crankcase is divided into three chambers c, d, e by the transverse walls a and b (FIG. 3). The chambers c and e are used to accommodate the crank disks f and g (Fig. A). The crank disks sit on an axis h (Fig. Z), which carries the gear wheel i (Fig. A) in the middle. The axis h is mounted in the transverse walls a and b. The gear wheel i takes care of the drive of all auxiliary devices including the change gear as follows: The cam wheel k is driven directly by wheel i. - The change gear is driven by engagement of the counter gear l in gear i . The magnet and oil pump are driven indirectly by gear i through engagement of gear m in counter gear l. This arrangement ensures that the engine, including the two-speed gearbox, has only seven gears, while other types have fourteen or more gears. The 01 that accumulates in the crank chambers; can flow off through the slots y (Fig. z and 3) housed in the partition walls due to their peculiar shape in any position of the engine, namely when driving up an incline into the oil chamber o (Fig. z) or when driving down inclines into the overflow chamber q (Fig. Z).
