Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft einen Ölfilter gemäß den Ober-The invention relates to an oil filter according to the upper
begriffen der Ansprüche 1 und 9.concepts of claims 1 and 9.
In automotive engines, it is used to lubricate moving parts Uses oil that is pushed out of the oil pan into the engine block by an oil pump, after it has previously passed an oil filter in which dirt is deposited will.
In general, these oil filters are arranged in a standing position, i.e. the The housing accommodating the filter insert is arranged more or less vertically, and the oil to be cleaned is introduced into the housing from below, occurs at one Annular gap between the bottom of the filter insert and the housing shell through the filter lamellas into the centrally located drainage pipe, and from there it is too down then into the main stream to the engine block. Are in the process Often there are two valves, of which the lower one, which is close to the drain end, is the cleaned one Releases oil flow, while the upper one serves as a safety valve, i.e. with a too high pressure, especially during a cold start, where the filter is not yet fully working, lets the oil to be cleaned get directly into the drain. With these standing oil filters Dirt accumulates in the lower part of the housing and during normal operation these are returned through the filter lamellas. Runs when the engine is off such a filter is empty, and when the engine is started, oil in the filter flows so become the dirt that is partially in the filter have settled down, whirled up and can also through the safety valve (if it is present) get into the collecting duct. It also leads to the idling of the filter means that after starting an engine, oil pressure is often not immediately available is available.
The object of the invention is to create an oil filter that is standing, i.e. with the housing cover facing downwards, with the to be cleaned Oil flows in from below and exits again downwards, in which the jacket space between The filter and housing do not run empty when the oil feed pump is at a standstill and when Foreign substances to be filtered out, which are deposited in the shell space when the machine is at a standstill not immediately when the motor vehicle engine is restarted be whirled up.
This problem is solved by the features in the characterizing part of claim 1 specified features, the configuration according to the subclaims being advantageous Further education are.
The solution according to the invention not only prevents deposits get back into the oil cycle in the filter, but it has also been shown that that the oil pressure, which is often missing for a short time during a cold start, is avoided In the case of horizontally arranged oil filters, where the one in the filter when it is removed Oil has been leaking so far, the amount of running oil will affect the contents of the pressure oil passages limited if these are arranged according to claim 6 or 10, while the rest remains in the filter, i.e. the housing.
The invention is to be explained below with reference to the drawing, where the figures are schematic longitudinal cuts according to the explanations according to claim 1 and claim 10 show: The oil filter consists of a housing jacket 1 and a housing cover 9 and a housing base 12. The housing cover 9 has Openings 4 through which the oil to be cleaned enters the filter, namely into channels 10, which extend from the bottom 4 to the bottom 3. In the housing is the actual filter insert 2, in which around a central collecting channel 5 filter lamellas are arranged, which run coaxially to the drain. Between the housing jacket and A space 13 remains behind the filter insert. In the collecting channel 5 there is (according to Fig. 2) a lower valve 14, through which the cleaned oil in the main flow to the Engine block is guided, while in the upper part of the channel a safety valve 15 is provided, through the oil to be cleaned from the openings 4 through the channels 10 can get directly into channel 5. With this arrangement the oil filter collects Dirt accumulates in the lower part of the housing, but it is carried by the pressure oil ducts 10 emerging oil when the safety valve 15 responds not whirled up at all is, so that in the collecting channel 5, although uncleaned, but not by already deposited Dirt even more contaminated oil gets. With oil filters arranged horizontally problems arise when removing the oil filter, because this is where it flows in the housing vorhanaene oil out when opening. By forming the channels according to the invention a large part of the oil is retained in the lower part of the housing, i.e. only that part flows out that has accumulated at the level of the then lying canals Has. In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the channels 10 (according to claim 10 - but also 6 -) bent over, and these bends extend over the middle of the filter element addition, and this way only flows when the oil filter is removed as much oil as there is still in these tubes, but not the oil from the housing itself.
