<NichtLesbar>
<NichtLesbar>
d > 1,58) und Dispersion (
<NichtLesbar>
d < 70) sowie einer anormalen partiellen Dispersion. Ein optisches Glas mit solchen optischen Eigenschaften und der nachstehend angegebenen Glaszusammensetzung:An optical glass with abnormal partial dispersion is very important for optical systems and extremely valuable as it enables the modification of the secondary spectrum in the manufacture of lenses. There are already numerous publications on fluorophosphate glasses with an abnormal partial dispersion and a refractive index (
<notreadable>
d) less than 1.55, and in practice such a glass has recently been used for telescope objective lenses or photographic lenses or the like. On the other hand, lens manufacturers have long had a strong demand for a glass with a higher refractive index (
<notreadable>
d> 1.58) and dispersion (
<notreadable>
d <70) as well as an abnormal partial dispersion. An optical glass with such optical properties and the glass composition given below:
Ferner führt der hohe BaO-Gehalt in diesem Glas zu einer hohen Dispersion und zu einer unzureichenden anormalen partiellen Dispersion.0.1 to 1.5% by weight MgF [deep] 2, 0.1 to 1.5% by weight CaF [deep] 2.0 to 12.5% by weight SrF [deep] 2.0 up to 10.0% by weight AlF [deep] 3, 0.1 to 1.5% by weight LaF [deep] 3, 8.0 to 12.0% by weight Al (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 3, 3.0 to 25.0 wt% Mg (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2, 10.0 to 18.0 wt% Ba (PO [deep] 3) [deep ] 2, 26.2 to 55.0% by weight BaO, 0 to 9.0% by weight B [deep] 20 [deep] 3.0 to 10.0% by weight GeO [deep] 2, 0 to 4.0% by weight of TiO [deep] 2 and 0 to 20.0% by weight of Nb [deep] 2O [deep] 5 is, for example, already from Japanese patent publication 28 169/1978 (corresponding to US patent specification 3 954 484) known. However, this glass has a relatively high liquid phase temperature and is unstable with respect to devitrification and is unsuitable for large-scale production. Furthermore, the high BaO content in this glass leads to high dispersion and insufficient abnormal partial dispersion.
<NichtLesbar>
<NichtLesbar>
The aim of the present invention is therefore to eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages and to develop an optical fluorophosphate glass which has a refractive index (
<notreadable>
d) within the range from 1.58 to 1.70 and an Abbé number (
<notreadable>
d) within the range of 39 to 70 and has abnormal partial dispersion and excellent chemical resistance and is stable to devitrification and can be manufactured on an industrial scale.
The optical fluorophosphate glass forming the subject of the invention contains Al (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 3, Ca (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2, MgF [deep] 2, BaF [deep] 2, BaO, Y [deep] 2O [deep] 3 and / or Yb [deep] 2O [deep] 3 as necessary components, where Y [deep] 2O [deep] 3 and / or Yb [deep] 2O [deep] 3 and Ca (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2 in a 5-component system made of Al (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 3-Ba (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2-MgF [deep] 2-BaF [deep] 2-BaO have been introduced, thereby lowering the liquid phase temperature of the glass and also improving the liquid phase viscosity and greatly improving the devitrification resistance. Y [deep] 2O [deep] 3 and Yb [deep] 2O [deep] 3 have the effect of not only improving the dispersion but also improving the refractive index, and the addition of even a small amount of these materials results in one great effect, and the glass with the composition of the present invention has a lower dispersion and a higher refractive index than the conventional fluorophosphate glass. In addition, Y [deep] 2O [deep] 3 and Yb [deep] 2O [deep] 3 have an effect of improving chemical resistance (resistance to chemicals), and the glass of the present invention is excellent in chemical resistance (resistance to chemicals). Ca (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2 not only leads to an improvement in the resistance to devitrification, as already mentioned, but also improves the chemical resistance (resistance to chemicals). It also has the effect of reducing cracking (cracking) during quenching during the molding of the glass, thereby facilitating molding.
In addition to the eight components mentioned above, the glass according to the invention can contain other components such as Mg (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2, SrF [deep] 2, YF [deep] 3, ZnO and Nb [deep] 2O [deep] 5, can be added.
Der Zusammensetzungsbereich des erfindungsgemäßen optischen Fluorphosphatglases ist nachstehend in Gew.-% angegeben:The composition range of the fluorophosphate optical glass according to the invention is given below in% by weight:
(1) Als Umwandlung des Metaphosphat-Ausgangsmaterials:(1) As conversion of metaphosphate starting material:
Al(PO[tief]3)[tief]3 13,0 - 39,0Al (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 3 13.0-39.0

Ba(PO[tief]3)[tief]2 5,0 - 19,0Ba (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2 5.0-19.0
(Die Gesamtmenge der Metaphosphat-Ausgangsmaterialien beträgt 31 bis 49 Gew.-%);(The total amount of the metaphosphate starting materials is 31 to 49% by weight);
(b) als Umwandlung des Fluorid-Ausgangsmaterials:(b) as conversion of the fluoride starting material:

BaF[tief]2 1,0 - 33,0BaF [low] 2 1.0 - 33.0
AlF[tief]3 0 - 8,0AlF [deep] 3 0-8.0
YF[tief]3 0 - 8,0YF [low] 3 0-8.0
(Die Gesamtmenge der Fluorid-Ausgangsmaterialien beträgt 19 bis 47 Gew.-%);(The total amount of the fluoride starting materials is 19 to 47% by weight);
(c) als Umwandlung des Oxid-Ausgangsmaterials:(c) as conversion of oxide starting material:
BaO 10,0 - 36,0BaO 10.0-36.0
Y[tief]2O[tief]3 und/oderY [low] 2O [low] 3 and / or
Yb[tief]20[tief]3 1,5 - 12,0Yb [deep] 20 [deep] 3 1.5 - 12.0
ZnO 0 - 6,0ZnO 0-6.0
PbO 0 - 29,0PbO 0-29.0
Nb[tief]2O[tief]5 0 - 22,0Nb [deep] 2O [deep] 5 0-22.0
(Die Gesamtmenge der Oxid-Ausgangsmaterialien beträft 20 bis 42 Gew.-%).(The total amount of the oxide raw materials is 20 to 42% by weight).
The salary range of each component was determined taking into account the following reasons:
The use of at least two kinds of metaphosphate is required for lowering the liquid phase temperature and for stabilizing the glass against devitrification, and the total amount thereof is within the range of 31 to 49% by weight.
Aluminum metaphosphate Al (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 3 has an effect of improving devitrification resistance and chemical resistance (resistance to chemicals), and if it is less than 13.0% by weight, the glass is extreme unstable to devitrification and its chemical resistance is inferior. If its content exceeds 39.0% by weight, it remains unfused during melting and it takes a long time to melt and the glass becomes unstable against devitrification.
Magnesium metaphosphate Mg (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2 and calcium metaphosphate Ca (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2 both have a strong glass-forming ability and stabilize the glass against devitrification. In addition, they have the effect of improving not only the dispersion but also the chemical resistance. If its Mg (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2 content exceeds 24.0% by weight, the glass becomes unstable to devitrification. If its Ca (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2 content is less than 1.0% by weight and when it exceeds 20.0% by weight, the glass becomes unstable against devitrification. Even Ca (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2 solidifies the glass structure and gives the glass solidity and reduces the tendency to crack formation (bursting or shattering) due to quenching during shaping and therefore 1.0% by weight or more Ca (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2 can be contained in the glass.
Barium methaphosphate Ba (PO [deep] 3) [deep] 2 has an effect of improving the refractive index, and if its content is less than 5.0% by weight, the desired refractive index is not obtained and the glass becomes unstable against devitrification . If its content exceeds 19.0% by weight, the glass becomes very unstable to devitrification.
As for the fluorides, they must be contained in a total amount of 19 to 47% by weight, and the simultaneous presence of three or more components is particularly preferred for lowering the liquid phase temperature and for stabilizing the glass against devitrification.
When its content of MgF [deep] 2 is less than 2.0% by weight and when it exceeds 13.0% by weight, the glass becomes unstable against devitrification, and when its content is less than 2.0% by weight the chemical resistance of the glass decreases.
<NichtLesbar>
d) 1,59 oder weniger.Strontium fluoride SrF [deep] 2 and barium fluoride BaF [deep] 2 both have the disadvantage that they increase the dispersion, but they also have the effect of improving the refractive index and the stability against devitrification. If its content of SrF [deep] 2 exceeds 20.0% by weight, the glass becomes unstable against devitrification. BaF [deep] 2 has a great effect of improving the refractive index as compared with SrF [deep] 2 and also serves to improve the resistance to devitrification. If its BaF [deep] 2 content is less than 1.0 wt% and if it exceeds 33.0 wt%, the glass becomes unstable against devitrification, and if its content is less than 1.0 wt% the refractive index is (
<notreadable>
d) 1.59 or less.
Aluminum fluoride AlF [deep] 3 has the effect of reducing dispersion and improving chemical resistance. If the content of AlF [deep] 3 exceeds 8.0 wt%, the glass becomes extremely unstable to devitrification. Yttrium fluoride YF [deep] 3 has the effect that it not only increases the dispersion but also the refractive index and improves the chemical resistance. If its content exceeds 80% by weight, YF [deep] 3 increases the tendency of the glass to devitrify.
As the oxide components, BaO, Y [deep] 2O [deep] 3, ZnO, PbO and Nb [deep] 2O [deep] 5 can be introduced, and the total amount of these oxide components is within the range of 20 to 42% by weight.
Bariumoxid BaO hat die folgenden Effekte: (1) Es erhöht nicht nur die Dispersion stark, sondern erhöht auch denBarium Oxide BaO has the following effects: (1) It not only greatly increases the dispersion but also increases the
<NichtLesbar>
Refractive index; (2) it improves the viscosity of the molten glass liquid and stabilizes the glass against devitrification; and (3) it decreases the volatilization of the fluoride components because the melting temperature becomes relatively low (below 1100 ° C). When its BaO content is less than 10.0% by weight, the refractive index is (
<notreadable>
d) the glass 1.59 or less, and BaO does not stabilize against devitrification (except for the composition containing Nb [deep] 2O [deep] 5 or PbO). If its content of BaO exceeds 36.0% by weight, it remains unfused during melting and increases the tendency of the glass to devitrify and increase dispersion.
<NichtLesbar>
Yttrium oxide Y [deep] 2O [deep] 3 and ytterbium oxide Yb [deep] 2O [deep] 3 both have the effect of improving not only the dispersion but also the refractive index and also suppressing devitrification and improving the chemical resistance to chemicals). Y [deep] 2O [deep] 3 and / or Yb [deep] 2O [deep] 3 lead to a refractive index (
<notreadable>
d) less than 1.59 and to a glass unstable to devitrification. Y [deep] 2O [deep] 3 and / or Yb [deep] 2O [deep] 3, if their content exceeds 12.0% by weight, increase the tendency of the glass to devitrify. The effect of Y [deep] 2O [deep] 3 or Yb [deep] 2O [deep] 3 is particularly pronounced when it is used together with BaO.
Zinc oxide ZnO has the effect of stabilizing the glass against devitrification and it can be contained in the glass in an amount up to 6.0% by weight, and if this percentage is exceeded, ZnO increases the dispersion. Lead oxide PbO and niobium oxide Nb [deep] 2O [deep] 5 increase the refractive index and also greatly increase the dispersion. Therefore, the optical constants deviate greatly from the conventional phosphoric acid bicron range and reach the ranges of bikron, barium flint and barium biflint. Compared with borosilicate glass already present in these areas, PbO and Nb [deep] 2O [deep] 3 have the characteristics that they have abnormal partial dispersion and good chemical resistance. PbO can be present in an amount up to 29.0 wt% and Nb [deep] 2O [deep] 5 can be present in an amount up to 22.0 wt%, and if these percentages are exceeded the glass is unstable to devitrification.
Innerhalb des obengenannten ersten Zusammensetzungsbereiches kann in einem zweiten Zusammensetzungsbereich mitWithin the above-mentioned first composition range, in a second composition range with

<NichtLesbar>

According to the invention, a metaphosphate, which itself has a glass-forming capacity, was used above as phosphate, but a carbonate and phosphoric acid (eg BaCO [deep] 3 and H [deep] 3PO [deep] 4) instead of Ba (PO [deep] 4 can also be used instead of metaphosphate ] 3) [deep] 2) and the use of a pyrophosphate instead of a mixture of an oxide and a metaphosphate (e.g. Ba [deep] 2P [deep] 2O [deep] 7 instead of BaO and Ba (PO [deep] 3 ) [deep] 2) is suitable if it is within the stated composition range.

The fluorophosphate optical glass of the present invention can be prepared by using an appropriate metaphosphate, fluoride, oxide, carbonate and the like as a raw material of each component, weighing and mixing them so that the mixing ratio based on the composition of the present invention is obtained, after which it is converted into a platinum -Melting crucibles placed in an electric furnace heated to 1000 to 1300 ° C, melted, clarified and stirred to homogenize them, and then poured and gradually cooled.

As can be seen from Figs. 1 and 2, the optical glass of the present invention has a dispersion almost as low or lower than that of the optical glass disclosed in Japanese Patent Publication 28 169/1978, and yet the former has a higher refractive index and a higher abnormal partial dispersion than the latter.
According to the present invention, as described above, a fluorophosphate optical glass having a relatively high refractive index and a high abnormal partial dispersion can be produced stably and easily on an industrial scale.
Although the invention has been explained in more detail above with reference to preferred embodiments, it is self-evident to a person skilled in the art that it is by no means restricted thereto, but that these can be changed and modified in many respects without thereby departing from the scope of the present invention .
