Description
The invention relates to low-borosilicate borosilicate glass of high chemical resistance, low processing temperature with reduced attack on the refractory material and its Use.
The borosilicate glass is primarily for use as Pharmaprimärpackmittel, z. B. as ampoules glass or vial glass, suitable. Moreover, it can be used for chemical plant construction, as devices glass, household glass, glass for melting glass-metal (eg glass for Fe-Co-Ni alloys, or zirconium or zirconium alloys), fire protection safety glass and for other technical purposes.
An important requirement of the pharmaceutical industry is the provision of glass as a pharmaceutical primary packaging with high chemical resistance due to hydrolytic resistance (H), the acid and alkali resistance (S, L) and the water resistance of the inner surface of containers against hot water (BK) is described. At the same time, from the perspective of the Glass manufacturer of this glass for quality and cost reasons in processing and cooling have low viscosities and the refractory material of the molten glass as little as possible to be attacked. Glasses meeting this requirement profile are not known.
An essential parameter for characterizing the processability of the glass is the processing temperature at which the viscosity of the glass is 10 4 dPas (processing point V A ). This processing temperature should not be more than about 1220 ° C for pharmaceutical ampoule glass.
Patent DE 195 36 708 describes pharmaceutical ampoule glasses which have very good chemical resistance with H = 1, S = 1 and L = 1 and low processing temperatures with V A of 1180 ° C. to 1220 ° C. However, it has been found that ampoules made from these glasses, due to the relatively high content of Li 2 O, have too low water resistance of the inner surface and the chemical resistances within the H = 1, S = 1 and L = 1 be reduced. This is especially true for the hydrolytic class.
Disadvantageously, the content of 1.0 wt .-% Li 2 O, which has been used in the patent DE 195 36 708 in Examples 1 to 5, too great an attack on the refractory material caused streaks occur in the glass.
In the patent DE 44 30 710 chemically resistant glasses are described, but they have due to the high content of Σ SiO 2 + Al 2 O 3 + ZrO 2 <83% disadvantageously high processing temperatures.
The object of the invention is the development of low-lithium borosilicate glasses high chemical resistance, low viscosity and reduced attack on refractories material.
When using the glass according to the invention as a pharmaceutical ampoule glass to the hydrolytic resistance according to DIN ISO 719 class one, the acid resistance according to DIN 12 116 class one, the alkali resistance according to DIN ISO 659 class one and the water Resistance of the inner surface of containers according to DIN 52 339 container class one to be two.
The viscosity of the melt should be so low that relatively low processing temperatures of about 1220 ° C are required.
B. Schlieren, auftreten. The attack on the refractory material should be minimized so that no by dissolved fire festmaterial caused glass defects, z. B. streaks occur.
It has been found that in a limited composition range lithium oxide poor Borosilicate glasses can produce that meet the task of the invention.
According to the invention the object is achieved by the glass described in claim 1.
Glasses of the compositions mentioned in claim 1 have a high chemical Resistance, low viscosity and cause reduced attack on the refractory material.
SiO2 72,0-77,0; B2O3 5,0-10,0; Al2O3 3,0-7,0; ZrO2 0,1-3,0; Li2O 0,05-< 0,5; Na2O 0,0-10,0;
K2O 0,0-10,0; ZnO 0,0-8,0; CaO 0,0-5,0; BaO 0,0-5,0; SrO 0,0-5,0; TiO2 0,0-4,0; SnO2 0,0
-3,0; Fluoride 0,0-3,0 und Läutermittel 0,0-2,0 Gew.-% und die Bedingungen Na2O : K2O <
0,75; SiO2 : B2O3 < 7,5 und Σ SiO2 + Al2O3 + ZrO2 + SnO2 = 80,0-83,0% erfüllt werden.They are preferably suitable for the production of pharmaceutical primate packaging materials if the following composition range is implemented in% by weight based on oxide according to claim 1:
SiO 2 72.0-77.0; B 2 O 3 5.0-10.0; Al 2 O 3 3.0-7.0; ZrO 2 0.1-3.0; Li 2 O 0.05- <0.5; Na 2 O 0.0-10.0; K 2 O 0.0-10.0; ZnO 0.0-8.0; CaO 0.0-5.0; BaO 0.0-5.0; SrO 0.0-5.0; TiO 2 0.0-4.0; SnO 2 0.0-3.0; Fluorides 0.0-3.0 and refining agent 0.0-2.0 wt% and the conditions Na 2 O: K 2 O <0.75; SiO 2 : B 2 O 3 <7.5 and ΣSiO 2 + Al 2 O 3 + ZrO 2 + SnO 2 = 80.0-83.0%.
Based on the examples of the glasses according to the invention of the patent DE 195 36 708 with a Li 2 O content of 1.0 wt .-%, development work on the glass composition were made tion, which brought the essential new knowledge,
that the high chemical resistances H = 1, S = 1, L = 1 and the low viscosities of V A <1220 ° C can be achieved even with substantially less Li 2 O content than 1.0 wt .-%, if the Contents of Na 2 O and K 2 O are adjusted accordingly and the sum of SiO 2 + Al 2 O 3 + ZrO 2 + SnO 2 = 80.0-83.0%,
that at the same time the water resistance of the inner surface of pharmaceutical packaging materials is improved against hot water and
that is reduced in reducing the Li 2 O content and despite the use of relatively high Na 2 O and K 2 O shares the attack of the glass melt on the refractory material.
Oxidbasis)
It has been found that with given composition ranges of the components SiO 2 , B 2 O 3 , Al 2 O 3 and ZrO 2 according to claim 1, the alkali metal oxides preferably within the limits (in wt .-% based on oxide)
in das Glas eingebracht werden müssen, um die angestrebten Glaseigenschaften realisieren zu können.must be introduced into the glass in order to realize the desired glass properties can.
The glasses according to the invention have further advantageous properties which lead to their error free and inexpensive mass production are essential. They fulfill the condition conditions, which are related to the melting behavior, the crystallization stability, the refining properties and the workmanship can be made. The glass can also be used to deplete the alkali ions the surface are treated with appropriate gases.
The reduced attack of the molten glass on the refractory became visual upon melting of the glass when using ceramic materials visible because the glasses of the invention visibly less corroding the ceramic refractory. This will cause the streaks reduced education or improves the homogeneity of the glass.
Oxide eingesetzt. The glasses were melted in a conventional manner in a laboratory oven at 1550 ° C to 1600 ° C in the period of about four hours, then poured and cooled stress-free. As raw materials conventional materials such as SiO 2 , H 3 BO 3 , Al (OH) 3 , alkali and alkaline earth carbonates / nitrates or oxides were used.
