Description
Steinbohrer. Masonry drill. The invention relates to a drill for drilling Depressions, holes or the like in any rock or stone-like material, such as B. marble, brick, concrete, cement tiles, stove tiles, etc. In the known Masonry drills do not always avoid hitting the edge of the drilled indentations more or less splinters and that cracks are generated during machining, which very often render the pierced material unsuitable for the intended purpose, in in most cases, however, greatly reduce the value of the processed material, which in the case of works of art often leads to their complete loss. These evils are intended to be eliminated by the subject matter of the invention. The new consists in the peculiar formation of the cutting edge of the drill.
The new masonry drill shown in the drawing consists of a steel cylinder f with a chisel-like cutting edge a, b, from which helical grooves c, d run out at the side, which also serve to accommodate the material drilled out and thus ensure that the cutting edge of the drill bit works freely at all times .
To produce particularly deep bores and for better utilization of the drill, the shank g of the drill f is shaped conically in a known manner and either fastened directly in the sleeve h 'of a handle i or inserted into the sleeve g'- an extension k and the conical Shank of this extension 1a then attached in the sleeve hl of the handle i.
