Description
The invention relates to a capacitive measuring head for dis dance measurements. Suitable for the construction of a capacitive measuring head there is a bridge circuit in which one of the bridge elements represents variable capacity. As a sensor, for example example an electrode arrangement with two lying in one plane Electrodes are used to attach the object to which the distance should be measured, is introduced. The capacity of the elec Trode arrangement depends on the medium that is nearby the electrode arrangement. If the electrode assembly is not near an object, it is Air with its relatively low dielectric constant bend for the capacity of the electrode arrangement. Will be against an object or a surface with a higher dielectric brought constant near the electrode arrangement, so increases the capacity and the bridge arrangement are detuned. Of this Detuning can be derived from a measurement signal.
AS 21 37 545 has such a capacitive measuring head a bridge circuit known. There are two in the bridge circuit Electrode arrangements are provided. The one electrode arrangement represents the element of the Measuring head and is arranged on the outside of the housing of the measuring head. The second electrode arrangement is used to compensate for temperature fluctuations in temperature and is located inside the housing of the Measuring head. Due to the publication mentioned it is also be knows the electrode assemblies each from a metal to produce layers of insulating material.
The invention has for its object the dependence on To further reduce environmental influences on the sensor, in particular the influence of temperature fluctuations.
This object is achieved by the inven in claim 1 solved. Advantageous embodiments are in the sub claims specified.
In the measuring head according to the invention, the electrodes are arranged a single insulating material coated on both sides with metal plate used. This creates a tight thermal coupling Electrode assembly manufactured. Temperature fluctuations have an effect thus the same on both electrode arrangements and their influences are eliminated by the bridge circuit. The usage a single insulating plate is possible because according to one another feature of the invention ver the electrode assemblies sets against each other are arranged on the insulating plate. This ensures that they do not affect each other electrically can flow.
In the following, the invention is illustrated by means of an embodiment game, which is shown in the drawing.
Es zeigtIn the example, the measuring electrode arrangement becomes "outer Electrode "and the electrode arrangement used for compensation called "inner electrode". It shows

In the circuit in FIG. 1, the output of an alternating voltage generator 1 is coupled via a coupling capacitor 2 to a bridge circuit made up of the bridge branches 3 to 7 . The AC voltage is fed in at the upper end of the bridge circuit. The lower point of the bridge circuit is connected to the ground potential of the circuit.
The two branches in the upper part of the bridge circuit are formed by capacitors 3 and 4 with fixed capacitance.
The variable capacitance 5 of the arrangement and a capacitance 6 in parallel lie in the left branch of the lower part of the bridge circuit. In the adjacent branch of the lower part there is a capacitance 7 which can be adjusted to balance the bridge.
The inverted inputs of a differential amplifier 8 are connected to the so-called zero branch of the bridge circuit. The voltage present at the zero branch is amplified in the amplifier 8 . The amplified signal is supplied to a rectifier circuit 9 , in which a DC signal is obtained from the AC signal with a continuously changing size for detuning the bridge. This signal is available at output 10 .
The capacitors 5 and 6 in Fig. 1 can be realized by an electrode arrangement, which is shown in Fig. 2.
A metal-coated insulating plate 11 , e.g. B. a copper-clad epoxy resin plate is etched so that the arrangement shown in Fig. 2 with a large-area mass electrode 12 and a sensor electrode 13 results, which are insulated from each other. The ground electrode 12 surrounds the sensor electrode 13 on all sides.
The connections of the electrodes 12 and 13 are guided to the rear at points 14 through the insulating material plate 11 into the interior of the measuring head. With this arrangement, the measuring head is only sensitive in the area of the surface of the sensor electrode, for the following reason:
The ground electrode is very large relative to the sensor electrode flat. Therefore, the capacitance of the ground electrode is one Measurement object large, the sensor electrode small. One must the resulting capacitance turns out to be a series connection of the introduce the capacities mentioned. Under the conditions mentioned is the value of the capacitance of the sensor electrode to the measurement object decisive for the resulting value.
Dagegen liegt die Kapazität 6 in der Isolierstoffplatte unterhalb der Elektroden 12 und 13.The variable capacitance 5 in FIG. 1 is formed in FIG. 2 by the capacitance between the electrodes 12 and 13 , which is formed in the adjacent air space. In contrast, the capacitance 6 lies in the insulating material plate below the electrodes 12 and 13 .
The insulating material plate 11 with the electrodes 12 and 13 according to FIG. 2 forms a wall of the capacitive measuring head, so that when an object approaches the electrode arrangement, the capacitance 5 is changed.
The capacity 6 in the insulating plate is subject to temperature fluctuations. To compensate for this, the identically constructed inner electrode is seen in Fig. 3 on the housing interior of the measuring head facing side of the Iso lierstoffplatte 11 . The outer electrode and the inner electrode are mutually offset ge, such that they do not face each other, but each of the ground electrode of the other elec trode assembly. Since the inner electrode is thus shielded from the outside, the outer portion of its capacity is not variable.
The best is the insulating plate with the electrodes designed symmetrically. It can then be used for the electrodes same template (print template for the etching) can be used.
The capacity of the inner electrode lying in the insulating plate changes with the temperature to the same extent as the capacity of the outer electrode lying in the insulating plate. The construction of the inner and outer electrodes with a single insulating material plate ensures that both electrode arrangements have the same temperature. The inner electrode is taken in place of the capacitor 7 in Fig. 1 in the bridge circuit. If necessary, a small variable capacity for balancing the bridge can be provided at a suitable point.
The described offset of the sensor electrodes is advantageous in this way chosen large that the arrangement only on one half of the Insulating plate is sensitive. It can then be the same Measuring heads arranged next to each other rotated by 180 degrees will. It is then a full width scan Insulating board possible. Such an arrangement with two Measuring heads is e.g. B. for a scan of one on the measuring heads Applicable along moving web when the web is the width of a whole insulation plate. The applicant will do so Arrangement used in a device with which the side flanks of a car tire can be measured in the final inspection.
