Abstract
Description
The invention relates to conveyor belts made of rubber or rubber-like Plastics with reinforcement inserts, in particular in the form of lengthways parallel to each other with wire ropes, cables or similar running through each other linear reinforcements, which are manufactured in finite lengths th reinforcement inserts with at least partially overlapping ends inside of the belt body are interconnected.
Conveyor belts are made by splicing their ends together on the conveyor closed into an endless structure. Since they are with the exception of comparatively short conveyor routes such as the so-called feed belts and the like short intermediate conveyor due to the transport restrictions that apply to the belt rolls supplied always a.ts several parts must be put together, contain the ready-to-use wound conveyor belts usually have a larger number of such endless connectors. Similar to the weakest link in a chain, however, these also determine the connection points the overall strength and resilience of the belts. In terms of their design and quality Therefore, special requirements were made, e.g. for conveyor belts with textile inserts in DIN 22 102 and for conveyor belts with steel cable inserts in DIN 22 131 (sheet 4) have found their precipitation. For security reasons, the Practice proved desirable, the connection points in the Conveyor belts specially monitored in order to prevent any cracks occurring at an early stage the separation and greater damage through immediate shutdown of the conveyor system to be able to prevent. The invention is accordingly based on the object of providing a reliable and a monitoring system for conveyor belt connections that can be used without excessive technical effort anzugobvne According to the invention, conveyor belts are characterized by the ones described above Kind by one in each case in the area of a junction between the facing Deposits end in the belt body arranged and enclosed in an electrical circuit Switching element with length extension in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the belt Enderbarfar, that after expanding its length over a selectable limit value the circuit for the purpose of Triggering a warning signal] - «or switching off the belt drive weakens or interrupts. The electrical circuit expediently comprises a power source and an electromagnetism Waves emitting transmitter, with the power source and / or the transmitter outside of the belt body arranged and on inductive, capacitive or other non-contact Paths with them coupled energy sources can be assigned.
The invention specifically provides the interconnection sites within The monitoring system9 assigned to the conveyor belts ensures the operational safety of the thus equipped conveyor system increased significantly and that from the sudden Breaking a connection, otherwise resulting accident risks and material consequential damage practically excludes. The limit value for the sensitivity of the visual elements can be adjusted with known means so that the conveyor belts around the deflection and drive pulleys, with the delivery of the conveyed goods and with others common strains associated with multiple repetitions easily be accepted and only an elongation beyond the normal extent for signal triggering The switching elements themselves, which may also lead to several with mutual Distances distributed over the width of the belt each assigned to a connection point are structured in such a way that they are roughly in the manner of a contact plug mechanically interrupt a line of the circuit or that they electrical off Resistance change in direct proportion to their elongation and consequently trigger the warning signal by weakening the current passage.
The invention is not directed to any particular type of belt or to a fixed one Conveyor system bound, although they show their full effectiveness and their special Advantage only in connection with heavily and abruptly stressed systems with confusing Routing and steeply rising sections of the route, e.g. in underground operations unfolds. Likewise, the invention is equally effective on conveyor belts with both steel cable as well as with textile inserts.
The invention is based on the schematic representation of an embodiment illustrated in the drawing. In the drawing: FIG. 1 is a plan view of FIG a part of a steel cord conveyor belt with the cover plate removed and FIG. 2 shows a detail from FIG. 1 in a longitudinal sectional view on an enlarged scale.
The drawn conveyor belt 3 is a so-called steel cord belt, the as the only reinforcement in the longitudinal direction with mutual distances parallel mutually continuous steel wire ropes 4 enthnit. In the junction are the facing threads of the steel cables 4 according to the pattern of a two-stage Connection nested in one another with partial mutual overlap the tensile forces exclusively via the elastomeric elastomer that adheres to the rope ends Material of the belt body can be transferred between banachbartPn wire ropes.
The associated monitoring system, which is also embedded in the belt body facility consists of a power source 5, a special 6 and both parts via one closed circuit 8 interconnecting switching element 7. The switching element 7 is according to the illustration in FIG. 2 in the manner of a pin or plug coupling composed of two electrically conductive parts 17, 27 placed one inside the other and so within the connection arranged that the ends of two facing steel cables 4 materially but electrically insulating attached to one of the parts 17, 27 in each case are. This is done by means of a covering 37 which encloses its outer casing surface Switching element isolated from the surrounding elastomeric material.
In normal pumping operation, the circuit 8 is between the power source 5 and the transmitter 6 are closed via the intact switching element 7. As soon as this though under the influence of excessive elongation as a result of fatigue the connection is disconnected, it interrupts the circuit and initiates e.g. via a logic circuit, not shown, outside the conveyor belt 4 triggers a warning signal or switching off the drive motor of the conveyor system before the Connection finally tears open.
