Material und Vorrichtung zum Verfüllen von Tanks
10
Material and equipment for filling tanks
10

Disused underground tanks are often left in the ground because digging them out and removing them is very time-consuming and expensive. Since disused tanks can lose their stability and collapse, for example due to corrosion, they must be filled with a load-bearing material. Sand is a known material for filling disused underground tanks. Filling a tank cavity evenly with sand still requires a considerable amount of manual labor and is therefore time-consuming.

The invention is based on the object of providing a load-bearing material that enables particularly economical and rapid filling of disused underground tanks.

Das MaterialThe object is achieved according to the invention by a granulate and/or a dust fraction of aerated concrete, whereby the aerated concrete is produced by mixing finely ground quartz sand, lime, cement, natural gypsum and aluminum powder, making this mixture into a paste with water, molding and then steam hardening, and whereby quartz sand, lime and water are each used in an amount of over 10%, cement and natural gypsum in an amount of 1-10%, and aluminum powder in an amount of less than 1%. The material

- 2 - " " W04G001- 2 - " " W04G001

An advantageous grain size of the granulate is in a range of 2-20 mm. A proportion of the dust fraction from aerated concrete can also be mixed into the granulate without any disadvantage.

The material according to the invention is comparatively light, dry and porous. It can be transported with little effort and can be introduced directly into the tank space to be filled with the aid of a compressed air conveyor, for example from a silo vehicle. It has been shown that the granulate can be distributed well during the blowing process and achieves a surprisingly high storage density and load-bearing capacity, so that subsequent recompaction is unnecessary. Despite the storage stability achieved, the material according to the invention can be removed from the tank even after years, for example if it is to be dug up and disposed of. A further advantage of the material according to the invention is that, due to its porosity, it is able to absorb and bind residual moisture from the tank cleaning process. Another advantage is that the granulate can be made from an aerated concrete material that is left over during the production of aerated concrete blocks or aerated concrete slabs. The material is therefore easy and inexpensive to obtain.

The invention further provides a device with which the filling of disused, underground tanks with a granulate or a dust fraction made of aerated concrete can be carried out particularly easily and economically. The device has an angled blowpipe that can be inserted into the tank opening after the tank lid has been removed, which is carried by a bracket that can be attached to the lid flange of the tank and can be connected to the conveyor hose of a compressed air conveyor device.

- 3 - W04G001- 3 - W04G001

The device also includes a lid that closes the tank shaft and has an air outlet opening that is closed with a filter. According to the invention, the lid, which can be placed loosely on the shaft, is weighted down at its edges using sandbags. To seal the lid from the tank shaft, strips of glass or rock wool can be arranged between the lid and the tank shaft.

The invention is explained in more detail below using an embodiment shown in the drawing.

The drawing shows a cross section through an underground tank 1 with a tank opening 3 in a shaft 2, which has a flange 4 for fastening a cover that has already been removed. To fill the tank 1 with aerated concrete granulate, a blowpipe 5 bent at a right angle is screwed to the flange 4 using a bracket 6. Inside the tank 1, the blowpipe 5 is extended with a straight extension piece 7. A conveyor hose 8 is connected to the upper end of the blowpipe 5 in the shaft 2, which leads to a silo vehicle (not shown) with a compressed air conveyor device. The shaft 2 is closed with a cover 9, which rests on the edge of the shaft 2 on all sides. Strips 10 made of glass wool are arranged between the cover 9 and the shaft 2 for sealing. The edge of the lid 9 is weighted down all around with sandbags 11 so that the pressure on the lid 9 during blowing cannot lift the lid 9. The lid 9 has an air outlet opening 12 which is closed on the top of the lid with an air-permeable filter bag 13. If required, several air outlet openings 12 with a filter bag 13 can also be provided.

- 4 - W04G001- 4 - W04G001

In the example shown, the rear section of the tank 1, further away from the tank opening 3, has already been filled with aerated concrete granulate 14 using the extension piece 7. To fill the front section of the tank 1, the extension piece 7 is removed and the tank 1 is filled up to the tank opening, whereby the blowpipe 5 can also be rotated in its holder 6 if necessary.
