Es existieren Tretboote. Aber sie haben eine flache Form, eine große Masse, mehrere Sitze, eine geringe Manövrirfähigkeit und werden zumeist von Schaufelrädern angetrieben. Und das bedeutet, daß sie nicht meerestauglich sind und nur sehr unbefriedigend zu sportlichen Zweck genutzt werden können.Pedal boats do exist. Um der sportlichen Betätigung dienen zu können mußte es natürlich als Einsitzer ausgeführt werden. Außerdem kommen deshalb als Werkstoffe vor allem faserverstärkte Kunststoffe zum Einsatz, z.B.
