The invention relates to a molded concrete block for lawn or drainage paving in square or rectangular format.
Drainagestreifen zwischen ihnenShaped concrete blocks are known in a variety of forms; they are used as grass paving blocks with wide joints or as drainage paving blocks with narrow joints, for example to pave parking spaces. The driveways are paved with drainage paving for better load-bearing capacity and the parking areas are paved with grass. Such shaped blocks, which allow both types of paving to be created with a single form, are described, for example, in EU-PS 0 377 460. These blocks in square or rectangular format have relatively sharp edges that easily break off during transport and/or laying; these blocks can be used to create green strips or drainage strips between them.
bilden, jedoch sind der Grünflächen- bzw. der Drainageflächenanteil zur Erhöhung des Grün- bzw. des Drainageanteils vergrößerungsbedürftig. form, however, the green space or drainage area share needs to be increased in order to increase the green space or drainage area share.
This is where the invention comes in, the aim of which is to provide a shaped stone of the type mentioned, which eliminates the problem of chipped edges and which, when laid with both a wide and a narrow joint, also has an enlarged area either for the lawn or for drainage.
This object is achieved by the embodiment described in the main claim with the characterizing features; advantageous further developments and preferred embodiments are described in the subclaims.
The cove at each corner, which runs approximately the entire height of the shaped stone, creates additional open areas in the intersection area of the joints or in the abutment area. These open areas can either be filled with soil to form additional lawn areas or, when filled with gravel, to form additional drainage areas, which eliminate the disadvantages of the state of the art.
In order to be able to adapt the paving to the architects' ideas about the shape, these coves are designed in different ways. These coves can have the profile of a quarter bar in cross-section. When combined, this creates open areas with an approximately circular shape (full circle for cross joints, semicircle for butt joints). Another alternative is for the coves to have the profile of a triangular bar in cross-section, which leads to square shapes of the open areas at intersections and triangular shapes at butt joints. The same applies if the coves have the profile of a square or rectangular bar in cross-section.

Figure 1 shows a schematic perspective of a shaped stone 1 looking at its top (not provided with a bevel), the edges 2, 3, 4 and 5 of which have concave grooves (shown here with a quarter-bar-shaped cross-section) that run over the entire height of the shaped stone 1. In many cases, the top of the shaped stone is provided with a bevel 7 (see Fig. 2-4); here it is expedient if the concave groove is included in the bevel and widened accordingly.
Figures 2 to 4 show examples of laying shaped stones 1 with coves and a bevel 7 running all the way around. Figure 2 shows a section of a paving in which shaped stones 1 with quarter-bar-shaped coves are laid in a cross-joint pattern, so that each of the crossing points has an open area with an approximately round shape 11. The shaped stones 1 laid in the paving section of Figure 3 have triangular-bar-shaped coves, so that the open areas in the crossing area of the joints form squares 12, formed by the legs of the triangles lying at an angle of 45° to the direction of the joints. It goes without saying that a different angle position leads to the open area in a rectangular shape. In the joint area, open areas in a triangular shape are formed accordingly. The sides of the squares (or rectangles) are always at an angle to the joints. Figure 4 shows an analogous situation, in which the cove is formed by a square bar-shaped recess, which also leads to open areas of square or rectangular shape 13. Here, the sides of these open areas 14 are always aligned parallel to the directions of the joints.
