Die Erfindung, ist in ihrer Anwendung auf eine Überwendlichnähmaschine der in dem amerikanischen Onderdonk-Patent Nr. 962974 beschriebenen Art dargestellt. Diese Maschine besteht aus einer Grundplatte 1, auf welcher der Stoff während des Nähens aufruht (Fig. 1 und 2). Die Stichplatte 10, welche auf dem Arbeitsträger gelagert ist, ist mit den üblichen Zuführungsschlitzen 11 ausgestattet, durch welche der Stoffrücker 12 hindurchgreift. Die Stichplatte besitzt ferner noch ein Nadelloch 13 und einen Finger 14, um welchen die Stiche in der bei dieser Maschinenart üblichen Weise gebildet werden. An einem Punkte nahe dem Nadelloch 13 ist ein Falter. 15 vorgesehen, welcher bei dem hier gezeichneten Beispiel aus einem Stück mit der Stichplatte hergestellt ist, zunächst nach oben und dann seitlich hervorragt und allmählich von seinem Aufnahmeende zu seinem in der Nähe der Bewegungsbahn der Nadel liegenden Abgabeende verjüngt zuläuft, so daß der Rand des Stoffes auf den Körper des Stoffes umgelegt wird.
