Description
The invention relates to an arrangement according to the preamble of first claim.
In a known arrangement of this type (DE-OS 15 48 889) in an inlet pipe at an inlet port of a salt container integrated a light source whose light after bundling through an optical lens to a diametrically am Salt container arranged outlet nozzle is directed to the one Drain pipe is screwed on. The drain pipe has one Display area on through an adjacent opening in the housing of a household appliance is recognizable from the outside. The bundled one However, light beam can also hit a mirror that the light beam perpendicular upwards to a filler cap of the Redirected salt container, the cap being translucent Display area is formed. As long as this arrangement undissolved salt in the otherwise filled with liquid Salt container is present and lies in the path of the light beam, the intensity of the light beam is so attenuated that at the no visual signal is present on the respective display surface. Located however, there is no undissolved salt in the beam path of the Light beam, then the respective display area is illuminated. in the practical operation of such a salt container shows it yourself that through cloudiness of the saline solution and the therein floating finest salt flickering with otherwise dissolved salt Such a high attenuation of the light beam always occurs that a considerable difference in brightness in relation to the state, where there is still undissolved salt in the beam path, not occurs. It is the path that light takes in the liquid must travel with the considerable dimensions of the Salt container very long and therefore with high damping acted upon. There is a considerable difference in brightness only when there is almost pure water in the salt container is available. Then, however, is the function of regeneration of an ion exchanger no longer exists.
There is also a device for determining a Liquid levels known (DE-AS 23 28 117), by means of one source through a transparent tube flowing liquid that forms a meniscus is detected. A light transmitter is provided for this purpose Radiation is directed onto the tube while a light receiver is offset by an angle of approximately 105 degrees. As long as there is liquid in the transparent tube, the light emitted by the transmitter either passes through in a straight line through the tube or is absorbed in the liquid. Is missing on the other hand the liquid, then there is a total reflection on the Interface between the glass of the tube and the air in the tube instead of. As a result, the light beam is deflected laterally and meets the light receiver. So with this arrangement it is irrelevant which components the liquid contains.
It is also a device for checking the level of Liquids in transparent pipes known (DE-AS 25 22 095), where a light transmitter and a light receiver with optically in aligned axes are provided. The optical axis lies laterally next to the longitudinal axis of the tube. As long as If there is no liquid in the tube, the light rays come out of the light transmitter almost unbroken through those to be irradiated Walls of the tube and meet the light receiver. Located on the other hand, if there is liquid in the tube, it breaks of the light beam at the interfaces between the Inner tube wall and the liquid, which creates a Parallel shift of the light beam results. Then lies however the recipient is no longer in the area of the exiting Light beam. With this arrangement, that's just that Presence or absence of liquid in the pipe noticeable.
The invention has for its object an arrangement according the preamble of the first claim to create the robust and is designed to be immune to interference, reliably undissolved salt detected and their installation no significant changes on Overall structure of the water softening device of a dishwasher or washing machine required.
This object is achieved according to the invention by characteristic features of the first claim.
The device according to the invention works on the principle of Reflection of light, being the reflection in the saline solution is much smaller than at the undissolved grains of salt within the liquid. Thereby will determine the actual level Regeneration salt from outside the commonly used Plastic salt container allows. It can therefore be said about the Electrical evaluation circuit downstream of the receiver already a signal will be triggered when the level reaches a has fallen below the predetermined value, so that in time Regeneration salt can be refilled. Here is the optical or also acoustic signal in its intensity regardless of the dimensions of the salt container or the path of the penetrated reflected light.
The wavelengths used are preferably from IR range. The difference in intensity is used, which differs from that when irradiating water or saline solid salt still present in it. Solid salt in the Liquid leads to increased reflection and thus to a greater intensity of the reflected light that is transmitted to the individual grains of salt is scattered considerably. The intensity of the Light radiation does not need to penetrate the of the entire diameter of the entire salt container rather, a depth of penetration sufficient with regard to the geometric arrangement of transmitter and receiver a safe Detection of undissolved salt enabled.
Other advantageous embodiments of the invention are in the other claims specified.
Es zeigtThe invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of drawings explained. It shows
Fig. 1 in Draufsicht eine Anordnung zur Überwachung des Salzfüllstandes nach dem Reflexionsverfahren, Fig. 1 in top view an arrangement for monitoring the filling level of the salt according to the reflection method,
Fig. 2 in side view an arrangement with IR radiation to explain the output circuit.
In the arrangement for monitoring the salt level of a salt vessel ( 2 ) of the water softening device (not shown) of a dishwasher or washing machine, a transmitter ( 1 ) emits light rays which, after passing through the vessel wall of the salt vessel ( 2 ), onto the medium ( 3 ) to be monitored (Salt or saline solution) and, after passing through the vessel wall again, be registered proportionately by a correspondingly arranged receiver ( 4 ).
In the arrangement according to FIG. 1, the transmitter ( 1 ) and receiver ( 4 ) are arranged side by side so that their optical axes are at a suitable angle (a) to one another. The rays or waves emitted by the transmitter ( 1 ) hit the contents ( 3 ) of the salt vessel ( 2 ) after passing through the wall of the salt vessel ( 3 ), but become proportional only when the medium ( 3 ) is reflected by the receiver ( 4 ) after passing through the vessel wall again registered. For the correct functioning of this arrangement, measures must be taken that the reflection takes place within the salt vessel at the content ( 3 ) to be monitored. This is achieved in that the light for the transmitter ( 1 ) and receiver ( 4 ) is guided through separate light channels and these lie closely against the vessel. In addition, a suitable angle of incidence (b) of z. B. selected about 90 °.
An arrangement for salt level monitoring using IR radiation is explained in more detail with reference to FIG. 2 to explain the measurement method. When using a light barrier, the near infrared range (approx. 800-900 nanometers) is suitable, since there are hardly any potential sources of interference in this range. For example, all short-wave light transmitters in question (e.g. room lighting) do not cause any significant interference. The heat radiation that is always present does not exert any significant influence, since its energy maxima are predominantly in longer-wave areas. It is also advantageous that powerful and inexpensive light transmitters and receivers are available in this area. A control circuit ( 21 ) excites a light-emitting diode ( 22 ) for luminescence (injection luminescence) in a specific frequency range by current flow in the forward direction. Diodes of the GaAs type, for example, are suitable as light transmitters for the selected near IR range. Their spectral emission maximum is around 925 nanometers. In order to limit loss of intensity, the diode also has a lenticular potting compound that enables a half-value angle of + 30 °. To further increase the beam intensity in the vicinity of the optical axis, a concave reflector ( 23 ) is installed, the z. B. consists of blackened aluminum. The emitted IR light thus enters the shortest way through the wall of the salt vessel ( 24 ), which usually consists of plastic, into the container with the highly reflective salt filling ( 25 ) or the less reflective salt solution ( 26 ). As long as the fill level ( 27 ) (switching height) of the salt filling ( 25 ) lies in or above the optical axis of the beam path, there is an increased reflection (or scattering) of the radiation at the salt crystals, so that a strong luminous flux passes through a filter ( 28 ) enforced. The filter causes an increased absorption in uninteresting for the measurement or even intrusive visible range, that is, for nm wavelengths <800. The filter (28) may, for. B. consist of black colored plastic. Longer-wave radiation does not have to be recorded with this, since the receivers suitable for this purpose themselves select the incident IR radiation due to their limited bandwidth, which is of the order of only a few hundred nanometers. The radiation emerging behind the filter ( 28 ) and lying in the bandwidth of a light receiver ( 29 ) is detected by the latter, as a result of which a signal in the form of an electrical variable is emitted from the receiver to an evaluation circuit ( 10 ). The receiver ( 29 ) is a photosensitive component and can, for. B. consist of a photodiode, a photo element or a phototransistor. The known operating modes "photo-element operation" or "photodiode operation" are used for the receivers, depending on whether alternatively the open-circuit voltage or the short-circuit current of the photo-receiver is used. The evaluation circuit ( 10 ) consists essentially of a threshold switch with an adjustable comparator threshold, for. B. a comparator or a bistable flip-flop. The circuit generates a bistable output signal, the position A or B of which depends on the light intensity of the radiation received in comparison with the set threshold level. For example, position A is assumed when the salt filling ( 25 ) is in the beam path, and position B when the solution ( 26 ) is in the beam path. The evaluation circuit ( 10 ) is followed by an output circuit ( 11 ) which, depending on the position A or B taken by the evaluation circuit, generates or not, for example, an acoustic or optical signal and thus provides information as to whether the desired level ( 27 ) of the Salt filling ( 25 ) is below or not. This switching height ( 27 ) is variable and can be adjusted to the desired value by moving the light barrier. In addition to the aforementioned beam bundling by concave lenses ( 23 ), the selection of wavelengths by filters ( 28 ) and receivers ( 29 ), the reliability of this arrangement against interference can be increased by increasing the light intensity of the transmitter. If the transmitter diode ( 22 ) is operated in the pulse mode with relatively short switch-on times, then instead of the forward continuous current provided, a pulse forward current which is several times higher can be used. The resulting increase in light intensity improves the signal-to-noise ratio compared to sources of interference as long as the evaluation circuit has a higher response time than the pulse pause duration. In addition, frequency modulation can be carried out on the transmitter side. B. is filtered out by a tuned resonant circuit, in particular the modulated stray light sources such as light bulbs or fluorescent lamps lose influence.
