Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schneidmaschine für Brot, Fleisch o. dgl., bei welcher das Schneidgut durch einen schwingenden Messerrost in_ Scheiben geschnitten wird, dessen Messer durch einen Auflagerost für das Schneidgut hindurchtreteH. Gegenüber bekannten Schneidmaschinen dieser Art ist die vorliegende dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Auflagerost als um einen dem Schwingungspunkt des Messerrostes gegenüberliegenden Punkt ausschwingbarer winkelförmiger Rost am Maschinengestell angeordnet ist, derart, daß beim Schneiden das Schneidgut auf den durch den Messerdruck festgehaltenen Auflagerost, den Messerrost und den nach oben gerichteten Schenkel des winkelförmigen Auflagerostes eingeklammert gehalten wird, während nach vollendeter Messerbewegung durch Ausschwenken des Auflagerostes das Schneidgut ohne Berührung mit der Hand aus der Maschine ausgeworfen werden kann.
