3. Verwendung eines Gemisches nach Anspruch 1 als Riechstoff.
Die Erfindung betrifft neue Riechstoffgemische. Es handelt sich hierbei um Gemische der Verbindungen
der allgemeinen Formel

worin drei der Reste R Methyl und der vierte Wasser- 5«
stoff darstellen und der eine Rest Ri Wasserstoff und
der andere Acetyl darstellt.
Die Erfindung betrifft auch ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Gemischen der Verbindungen I und
deren Verwendung als Riechstoffe.
Die Formel I umfaßt die Verbindungen der Formeln Ia, Ib, Ic und Id:

Definltionsgemäß sollen die erflndungsgemaßen
Riechstoffgemische Verbindungen jeder der vier Formeln Ia bis Id enthalten. Bedingt durch das
Vorhandensein von je drei Asymmetriezentren können die Verbindungen der vier Formeln Ia bis Id In je 8
enantlomeren Formen bzw. In Form von je 4 Enantlomerenpaaren auftreten.
Das erfindungsgemäße Riechstoffgemisch kann dadurch erhalten werden, daß man ein Gemisch der
Verbindungen der Formel
worin eine der zwei gestrichelt gezeichneten Linien eine
zusatzliche Bindung darstellt, mit Methylvinylketon bei
120 bis 250° C einer Diels-Alder-Reaktion unterwirft.
Die Umsetzung des Verbindungsgemisches der Formel II mit Methylvinylketon kann nach den an sich
bekannten Methoden der Diels-Alder-Reaktion durchgeführt werden.
Die Umsetzung kann mit oder ohne Zuhilfenahme eines organischen Lösungsmittels, wie beispielsweise
eines gegebenenfalls chlorierten aliphatischen oder aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffes erfolgen. Geeignete
Lösungsmittel sind Hexan, Benzol, Toluol, Tetrachlorkohlenstoff, etc.
Der Temperaturbereich liegt zwischen 120 bis 2500C.
Bedingt durch diese erhöhten Temperaturen wird man vorzugsweise unter Druck arbeiten, es sei denn, man
verwendet höher siedende Lösungsmittel, wie Xylol.
Das Verhältnis Dien II zu Methylvinylketon Ist nicht
kritisch, vorzugsweise setzt man aber die letztere Verbindung In geringem Überschuß, beispielsweise von
10% ein.
Die Zugabe eines Antioxydans, wie Pyrogallol und nydrachinon-monomethyläther, zum Reaktionsgemisch
Ist vorteilhaft, um Polymerisation der Reaktionspartner zu verhindern.
Die Isolierung des Reaktionsproduktes kann beispielsweise
durch Destillation des Reaktionsgemisches erfolgen.
Das Verbindungsgemisch der Formel II kann z. B. durch Dehydratisierung von 3,3,5-Trimethyl-l-vlny!-
cyclohexanol, beispielsweise unter dem Einfluß von p-Toluolsulfonsäure oder POClj In Pyrldln, hergestellt
werden (Djerassl, Steroid Reactions, Holden-Day Inc., (1963), 235 seq.]. Das Diengemisch der Formel II
entsteht welter als primäres Reaktionsprodukt bei der
Umsetzung von 3,3,5-Trlmethyl-l-vlnyl-cyclohexanoI
mit Cltraconsäureanhydrld (BE-PS 7 43 948, Beispiel 6) oder - In besonders hoher Ausbeute - durch thermische
Behandlung von 3,3,5-Trlmethyl-l-vlnylcyclohexanol In
der Gasphase über Aluminiumoxid (Organlkum, Orga-
nlsch-Chemlsches Grundpraktikum, 7. Auflage, VEB
Deutscher Verlag der Wissenschaften, (1967), 219].
Die erfindungsgemäßen Gemische besitzen besondere Riechstoffeigenschaften. Sie können deshalb In der
Parfümerleindustrie zur Herstellung Insbesondere von Parfüms, aber auch von parfümierten Produkten
Verwendung finden, beispielsweise zur Parfümlerung von Seifen, festen und flüssigen Detergentien, Aerosolen,
kosmetischen Produkten aller Art, wie Toilettenwasser, Salben, Gesichtsmilch, Schminke, Lippenstiften, i<
> Badesalzen und -ölen. In den Parfüms bzw. den parfümierten
Produkten kann der Gehalt an den erfindungsgemäßen Riechstoffen innerhalb weiter Grenzen, z. B.
zwischen etwa 1 Promille (Detergentien) und etwa 20% (alkoholische Lösungen) Hegen. In Parfumbasen bzw. is
Konzentraten kann er selbstverständlich auch Ober 20% betragen.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Riechstoffgemische verfügen
über einen ausgeprägten warmen, tabak- und ambraartigen, sehr gut Jiaftenden Geruch. Sie können belsplels- 2t)
weise Rlechstoffkomposltlonen vom Typ Tabak, Chypre, Lavendel, Ambra, holzig (Insbesondere wurzelig),
moderne Herrenlinie einverleibt werden. Solche Kompositionen werden dadurch auf vorteilhafte Welse
modifiziert. Indem sie voller, welcher, runder und harmonischer wirken.
Die hohe Stabilität der erfindungsgemäßen Riechstoffgemische
und Ihre ausgeprägte Haftfestigkeit prädestinieren sie als Komponenten von verschiedenartigsten
Kompositionen, dies um so mehr, als es sich um billige w>
Produkte handeu (leicht zugangliches Ausgangsmaterial,
erfindungsgemäße Umsetzer« läuft mit hoher Ausbeute ab).
Es sind zwar Riechstoffe, die das Octallngerüst
aufweisen, bekannt. Insoweit sie aber Ambranoten aufweisen, erfüllen sämtliche diesbezüglich bekanntgewordenen
Riechstoffe das von G. Ohloff In Fortschritt der Chem. Forschung 12, (1969), 185 bis 240, Insbesondere
Seite 192 aufgestellte Postulat, aus dem hervorgeht, daß In dem Ring des Octallns, der die funktlonelle
Gruppe trägt, auch Methylreste vorhanden sein sollten. Dies trifft Insbesondere auch für die Ambra
Riechstoffe der DT-OS 24 08 689 (Hall et al.) zu.
Auch Hall et al. zitieren Ohloff (auf Seite 9) und auf Seite 8 ferner US-PS 30 76022, (deren Ambrakörper
ebenfalls dem Postulat von Ohloff gehorchen (Beispiel 3).
Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Erfindung werden nun erstmals Ambrakörper zur Verfügung gestellt, die dem
damals aufgestellten und bisher gültigen Postulat nicht so gehorchen.
Die vorliegenden Ambrakörper weisen aber nicht nur die Interessante, an sich schon gesuchte Ambranote auf,
sondern zeigen zudem holzigen und animalischen Charakter, und das facettenreiche Bild wird schließlich
abgerundet durch wurzelig-erdige Nebennoten: Mit einem einzigen Verbindungsgemisch können demnach
mehrere verschiedenartige, gewünschte Effekte erzielt werden, was die Komposition und Mischarbelt wesentlich
erleichtert, «>
Ausgangsmaterial:
Beispiel 1
Beispiel 1
a) Aus 80 g Vinylbromid und 20 g Magnesium wird In 1 Liter Tetrahydrofuran die Grlgnard-Verblndung
hergestellt. Dieser tropft man bei Raumtemperatur 100 g 3,3,5-Trlmethylcyclohexanon (Dihydrolsophoron)
In 100 ml Tetrahydrofuran zu. Man hält das Reaktionsgemisch 12 Stunden bei Rücknußtemperatur.
Hierauf wird abgekühlt, das Gemisch mit gesättigter Ammoniumchloridlösung
versetzt und mit Äther extrahiert. Die organische Phase wird mit gesättigter Kochsalzlösung neutral
gewaschen, getrocknet und eingedampft. Das Rohprodukt wird am Hochvakuum destilliert
(55°C/0,133 Millibar). Man erhält 88,9 g 1-Vlnyl-lhydroxyJ^.S-trlmethyl-cyclohexan.
b) Ein Gemisch von 75 g l-VlnyI-l-hydroxy-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexan und 2,3 g p-Toluolsulfonsäure in 350 ml Benzol wird während 2 Stunden am Wasserabscheider bei Rückflußtemperatur gehalten. Man kühlt nun ab, wäscht mit Wasser neutral, trocknet und dampft ein. Das Rohprodukt wird am Hochvakuum destilliert (73°C/13,3 Millibar). Man erhält so 28 g l-Vlnyl-3,3,5-(und 3,5,5-)trlmethylcyclohe-1 -en.
b) Ein Gemisch von 75 g l-VlnyI-l-hydroxy-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexan und 2,3 g p-Toluolsulfonsäure in 350 ml Benzol wird während 2 Stunden am Wasserabscheider bei Rückflußtemperatur gehalten. Man kühlt nun ab, wäscht mit Wasser neutral, trocknet und dampft ein. Das Rohprodukt wird am Hochvakuum destilliert (73°C/13,3 Millibar). Man erhält so 28 g l-Vlnyl-3,3,5-(und 3,5,5-)trlmethylcyclohe-1 -en.
a) 540 g 1-VlnyI-l-hydroxy-3,3,5-trlmethylcyclohexan
werden langsam (25 ml pro Stunde) In einer Pyrolyseapparatur Im Stickstoffstrom auf erhitzte
(3500C) Alummlumoxld-Kugeln (1,6 kg, Korngröße
3 bis 5 mm) getropft und der Ausfluß in einer Kühlfalle aufgefangen. Das Reaktionsprodukt
wird mit Pentan verdünnt, vom Wasser abgetrennt
und Ober Natriumsulfat getrocknet. Es wird Ober eine Vlgreux-Kolonne fraktioniert destilliert. Man
erhält 32Og l-Vlnyl-3,3,5-(und 3,5,5)-trlmethylcyclohex-1-en
(vom Siedepunkt 58 bis 61°C/13,3 Millibar) neben 84g Ausgangsmaterial (1-Vlnyl-lhydroxy^^-trlmethylcyclohexan
(vom Siedepunkt 79° C/13,3 Millibar).
b) Wird In obigem Beispiel die Pyrolyseapparatur mit
einem Vorverdampfer (J80°C^ versehen, ist der
Umsatz der Reaktionspartner quantitativ.

und 17 g Methylvinylketon werden unter Zugabe einiger Kristalle Hydrochlnonmonomethyläther und Pyrogallol
12 Stunden unter Argonatmosphäre In einem Autoklaven bei 180° C gehalten. Nach Abkühlen destilliert
man das Reaktionsprodukt und gewinnt so 19,3 g l,l,3-(und l,3,3-)Trlmethyl-7-(und 8)-acetyl-Asl0-octa-Hn
vom Siedepunkt 75 bis 100" C/0,267 Millibar. IR (Hq) 17,5 cm-'; NMR (CDCl,) 0,75 bis 1,05 ppm, 9H,
Multiplen C-CHj, C(CHj)2; 2,16 ppm, 3H, Multiple«
CO-CHj; 5,6 ppm, IH, Multiple« C=CH; M* 220, 177,
161, 150, 135, 121; Geruch des Produktes: warm, ambraartig, tabakartig, cedrlg-trocken, erdig, würzig.
