Description
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Legierung zur Herstellung von Dauermagneten. The invention relates to an alloy for the production of permanent magnets.
From US-PS 34 21889 are alloys for Permanent magnets have become known, which in addition to cobalt as the main component 5 to 15 mol% of a number of Rare earth metals, in particular cerium and / or samarium.
The US-PS 35 60 200 describes a material for permanent magnets of the general composition AB (RE), where A denotes iron or cobalt or a mixture of these two metals, and B denotes copper, nickel or aluminum or a mixture of copper with aluminum or nickel , and (RE) means rare earth metals, including samarium and cerium. In particular, white materials with the composition (AB), (RE) were examined, for which the value χ assumes a value range between 5 and 8.5.
Furthermore, according to the publication “The Hard-Magnetic Properties of Rare Earth-Transition Metal Alloys "1972 Intermac Conference. Pages 511 to 515. binary alloys of the R-Mn type known :. In this It is also stated that the maximum The value of the energy product is likely to be around 12Mg-Oe.
The object of the invention is to improve the known alloys for the production of a permanent magnetic material in such a way that they have a higher coercive force Hc and at the same time a high maximum energy product, and that it is also not necessary to set the sintering temperature very precisely when sintering the material to control.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by an alloy consisting of 1.2 to 11.05 mol% Cerium. 1.8 to 11.7 mol% samarium, provided that that the sum of cerium and samarium gchultc 12 to 13 mole percent is 60.9 to 77.44 mole percent cobalt. 2.175 up to 10.56 mol% manganese and 7.83 to 15.84 mol% copper. The alloy according to the present invention differs their manganese content is state-of-the-art.
The invention achieves that the alloys have surprisingly high energy products.
Furthermore, the production of the invention Alloys facilitated by conventional sintering processes.
The alloys of the invention can be made by various alternative methods. For example, Co, Mn, Cu and rare earth metals are in proper proportion to each other weighed and placed in a protective atmosphere such as B. argon, by induction heating with each other merged. These alloys are pulverized by conventional means. The alloys are at room temperature practically unreactive, and therefore pulverization can be carried out in air. It is more advantageous to pulverize the alloys in a protective atmosphere. For example be the alloys are crushed into a coarse grain in an iron mortar, and the digging grains are made then pulverized to a fine powder with a jet mill. A wide variety of particle sizes of the powder can be used, but the most preferred particle size is 1 to 5 μm. Although a larger particle size can be used, the grain orientation of the final product is dragged along Increase in the particle size of the output powder from.
The powder turns into a green plate with the desired shape and dimensions by suitable conventional means, such as. B. a hydraulic press or a single-axis press. It is advantageous if the powder in a magnetic field is compressed, so that the easily orientable axes of the grains in the field direction be oriented. According to another method, the powder particles can initially be magnetized «- finted and then the powder can then be compacted.
The compacted body is sintered to form the Compression to complete. In the compacted body, the higher density becomes to a lesser extent causes oxidation during an increase in temperature during sintering. It is therefore advantageous if the pressure during compaction is as high as possible. Compression when the density is still too low can but can still be made if that
B. hochreines Argon, beim Sintern benutzt werden.jto sintering is carried out in a high vacuum furnace. It can also be an oxygen-free protective atmosphere, such as. B. high purity argon, used in sintering will.
The sintering temperature should be varied depending on the particular alloy composition of the compacted body. The lowest sintering temperature suitable in the invention should be high enough so that the respective Co-Mn-Cu-R material is well sintered and compacted. After completion of the sintering, the sintered body is cooled to room temperature, preferably in an inert atmosphere, such as. B. argon. An optimal sintering temperature is determined experimentally, e.g. B. by sintering multiple samples of a material at gradually higher temperatures and measuring the magnetic properties of each sample. A Sintenemperatur between about 1000 and about 1100 0 C is advantageous for a material with a proposed according to the invention alloy.
After magnetization, the sintered body is suitable as a permanent magnet. If necessary, the sintered bodies can be formed into the desired shape by cutting and grinding. The ones from the Permanent magnets made according to the invention are suitable for many applications, e.g. B. for use in electric timepieces, pickups, micromotors, microwave tubes, and the like.

The table shows that the maximum energy product of 8.7 to 19.9 MGOc by the Invention can be obtained. In addition, the coexistence of Ce and Sm is one certain ratio is important for improving the magnetic properties. Specifically, Samples Nos. 5, 10, 14 and 15 show superior ones magnetic properties versus those of Sample Nos. 16 (without Ce) and 17 (without Sm).
Sample No. 3 was kept at 150 ° C for 100 hours aged, and the magnetic properties of the aged samples were measured. It wasn't substantial change in coercive force, residual magnetic flux density and maximum energy product before and after the heat treatment found, from which it follows that an alloy according to the invention is resistant to heat aging below 150 ° C is highly resistant.
