Description
The invention relates to heat-resistant thermoplastic alloys made from vinyl chloride polymers and aromatic polycarbonates.
The freezing temperature (glass transition temperature) of polyvinyl chloride is around 80 ° C. so that its heat resistance (vital temperatures around 75 to 84 ° C., depending on the K value and recipe) does not meet many requirements. Attempts have therefore been made to improve the dimensional stability under heat by changing the molecular structure (copolymerization), chemical aftertreatment or adding thermoplastics with a higher (transition temperature) (G, KOhne et al. Kunststoffe, Volume 63 (1973), pages 139-142), in particular by curing and crosslinking partial successes were achieved as well as by copolymerization with maleimides (Vicat temperatures around 90 ° C.) Attempts were also made to mix PVC with other thermoplastics, although technically usable products were only obtained in a few cases.

In addition, the new Products have high hardness, tensile and flexural strength.
The founding polymer alloys are Significantly less flammable than pure polycarbonates and largely resistant to acids and alkalis and solvents.
Es ist auch möglich,They can be obtained by mixing the polycarbonate with polyvinyl chloride with the addition of a customary stabilizer system and subsequent homogenization on mixing units such as rollers, mixing screws, mixing extruders, internal mixers or kneaders. Because the processing temperatures of up to 240 0 C, it is recommended to incorporate in the polyvinyl chloride prior to mixing with the polycarbonate all of the required amount of stabilizer by intensive Misehen in a high speed mixer (temperatures up to 150 ° C). You can z. B. mix the polyvinyl chloride as stabilized granules with the mostly powder or granular polycarbonate and homogenize this mixture. It is also possible,

The polycarbonate or the polyvinyl chloride can also initially separately, z. B. melted on rollers and then the second component can be abandoned.
Aus dieser Emulsion können das Polycarbonat und dasThe polymer alloys of the invention can also be prepared via a solution or via emulsions of various immiscible solutions. For example, polycarbonate based on 2 ^ -Bis- {4-hydroxyphenyi) propane can be dissolved in CH 2 Cl 2 and polyvinyl chloride in cyclohexanone. The two solutions, which do not mix completely, can be converted into an emulsion by vigorous stirring. From this emulsion, the polycarbonate and the
