Die Erfindung betrifft neue Hydroxyimidazole, Verfahren zu inrer
Herstellung und diese Verbindungen enthaltende Pestizide.
Es wurde festgestellt, dass diese Hydroxyimidazole ausgeprägt
pestizid wirken} einige dieser Verbindungen haben insektizide
Wirkung, insbesondere gegenüber Blattläusen, wobei "sie jedoch praktisch nicht herbizid sind. Diese Kombination macht
sie für die Verwendung in der Landwirtschaft und im Gartenbau
besonders viertvoll..
Gegenstand der Erfindung sind somit Hydroxyimidazole der allge-

aromatischen, heteroaromatischen, geradkettigen oder verzweigten gesättigten oder ungesättigten aliphatischen oder
arylaliphatischen Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffbedeutet
atomen/ Rp und R, gleich oder verschieden sind und je ein Wasserstoffatom
oder einen gegebenenfalls substituierten Aryl- oder aliphatischen Rest mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen oder einen

Spezielle Beispiele für R1 sind das V/asserstoffatom, die Methyl-,
Äthyl-, Allyl-, Propyl-, Butyl-, Füryl-, Thienyl-, Pyridyl-, Thiazolyl- und Pyrrylgruppe , gegebenenfalls mit einem oder mehreren
Halogenatomen substituierte Phenyl- oder Naphthylgruppen,
gegebenenfalls mit einer Phenylgruppe substituierte niedrige. Alkylreste oder niedrige Alkoxyreste. · -
Für R1 bevorzugt sind die Methyl-, Äthyl-, Allyl-, n-Propyl-,
isopropyl-, η-Butyl-, Isobutyl-, t-Butyl-, sec-Butyl- und
Benzyl gruppen.
Für Rp und R,. geeignet sind das Wasserstoff atom, die ITethyl-,
Äthyl-, Propyl-, Butyl- oder Phenylyruppen. ·
Spezielle Iteispiele für R. i?ind das WasserBtoffatom, die Methyl-,
;;ihyl-, Propyl-, Butyl-, Bouzyl- und Phenyl gruppen·, für R^ geeignet siuu die Methyl-, Alhyl-,. Propyl-, Butyl-, Phenyl-,

Benzyl-,,Formyl-, Acetyl-, Propionyl-, Chloracetyl- oder
Benzoylgruppen. R. und Rc bilden zusammen mit dem Stickstoffatom,
an dem sie gebunden sind, einen 5- oder 6-gliedrigen heterocyclischen Rest.
Pur R. oder R,- bevorzugt sind die Methyl-, Ithyl- oder Phenylgruppen
oder die mit dem Stickstoffatom gebildeten N-Piperidino- oder N-Pyrr öl idyljruppen.
Für R- besonders bevorzugt ist die Methylgruppe. Pur die Gruppe
der Formel CO.NJt.Rc besonders bevorzugt ist daher die Gruppe
der Formel
Geeignete Salze sind herkömmliche Säureadditionssalze mit einer organischen oder anorganischen Säure, wie Sulfate, Nitrate,
Phosphate, llydrohalogenide , Acetate und Formiate.
Die Erfindung betrifft ferner ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der Hydroxyimidazole der allgemeinen Formel (I), in der
>, Z ein Wasserstoffatom ist, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist,
dass man ein Diketonmonoxim der allgemeinen Formel (II)

Zur Herstellung der Hydroxyimidazole der allgemeinen Formel (i),
in der X ein Stickstoffatom und Z ein Wasserstoffatom ist,
führt man die Reaktion im allgemeinen in einer mit Wasser mischbaren
Lösung durch, da man dann das Ammoniak in wässriger Lösung
zu einem Gemisch der Verbindungen1 der Formeln (TI) und (Hl) .
zusetzen kann. Geeignete Lösungsmittel sind Äther, wie Dioxane und Tetrahydrofuran ,und Alkohole, wie Methanol oder Äthanol.
Vorzugsweise werden die Lösungsmittelvolumen klein gehalten.
TJm Nebenreaktionen zu vermeiden» wird die Reaktion im
allgemeinen bei einer Temperatur unter 800C, vorzugsweise unter
6G0C, durchgeführt. Da die Reaktion oft exotherm verläuft, muss
man das Reaktionsgemisch kühlen. '
Zur Herstellung der Hydroxyimidazole der allgemeinen Formel (i),
in der X die Gruppe der Formel N —>■ 0 und Z ein Wasserstoff-

atom ist, kann man die Reaktion in einem weiten Temperaturbereich durchführen, z.B. von 0 bis 1000C. Im allgemeinen muss
man jedoch das Reaktionsgemisch einige Zeit erwärmen, um die Reaktion zu vervollständigen.
Ein weiteres Verfahren zur Herstellung der Hydroxyimidazöle der allgemeinen Formel (I), in der Z eine Gruppe der Formel
CO.NRxRr bedeutet, ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man entweder
a) eine Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel (V)

R6 ein Wasserstoffatom oder ein Kation, wie Natrium, ist,
mit einer Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel RcNCO oder R4R1-N.COf
umsetzt, in der R. und R5 wie in Formel (I) definiert sind und
Y eine durch die Gruppe der Formel ORg leicht ersetzbare Gruppe
ist, oder
b) eine Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel (V)," in der R^ eine
Gruppe der Formel COCl oder COBr bedeutet, mit einer Verbindung der Formel R.R^NH, in der R. und Rr wie in Formel (I) definiert

gegebenenfalls einen der Reste R. oder R,- durch einen anderen
Rest R^ oder R^ in an sich bekannter Weise ersetzt.
Für Y geeignet sind Brom- oder Chloratome, Methansulfonyl- oder
p-Toluolsulfonylgruppen. Das Chloratom wird "bevorzugt.
Die Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel(V b) können aus den
Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel(V a) durch Umsetzung mit COCIp oder COBr ρ in einem inerten Lösungsmittel hergestellt
werden. Im allgemeinen führt man diese Reaktion in einem inerten aprotischen Lösungsmittel bei Raum- oder niedriger * Temperatur,
vorzugsweise bei einer Temperatur von -10 bis 450 C, durch.
Die Umwandlung einer Verbindung der allgemeinen Formelβ(V b)
in ein erfindungsgemässes Hydroxylmidazol erfolgt in einem
aprotischen Lösungsmittel, wie einem halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoff, z.B. Chloroform oder Methylenchlorid', einem Keton, z.B.
Aceton oder Methylethylketon ,oder einem Äther, z.B. Tetrahydrofuran
oder Dioxan.
Die Reaktion wird bei niedriger , Raum- oder höherer Temperatur durchgeführt. Temperaturen zwischen -10° und +1500C sind geeignet.
Temperaturen von 0 bis 8O0C werden bevorzugt.
Im allgemeinen ist es für das erfindungsgemässe Verfahren vorteilhaft,
wenn R, Lein Wasserstoffatom oder keine Acylgruppe
ist. Für R. und Rr^ wird je eine Alkylgruppe bevorzugt, insbesondre ;je eine Mc thyIgruppe.

Wenn H. ein V/asserstoffatom oder ein aliphatischer oder Arylrest
ist, wird das erfindungsgemässe Hydroxyimidazol der allgemeinen
Formel (I) durch Umsetzung einer Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel (V a) mit einer Verbindung der allgemeinen
Formel RcNGO vorzugsweise in einem inerten Lösungsmittel, wie
einem Keton, z.B. Aceton oder Methyläthylketon, bei Raum- oder höherer Temperatur hergestellt.
Wenn R. und R1- je einen aliphatischen oder« einen Arylrest bedeuten,
wird die Verbindung der Formel (V a) vorzugsweise mit einer Verbindung der Formel R.Rt-N.CO.Y in einem aprotischen
Lösungsmittel bei niedriger, Raum- oder höherer Temperatur umgesetzt. Vorzugsweise ist R^ ein Natriumatom. Wenn R^ ein Wasserst
off atom ist, kann man eine Base, wie Natriumcarbonat, zusetzen.
Erfindungsgemässe Hydroxyimidazole der allgemeinen Formel (I),
in der R. ein Wasserstoffatom darstellt, können in erfindungs-. gemässe Verbindungen der Formel (I), in der R- ein aliphatischer,
arylaliphatischer oder Acylrest ist, in an sich bekannter Weise umgewandelt werden. Zum Beispiel kann man eine Verbin-*
dung der allgemeinen Formel (I), in der R. ein Alkylrest ist,
aus der entsprechenden Verbindung, in der R. ein Wasserstoffatom
ist, durch Umsetzung mit Butyllithium und anschliessend mit einem Alky!halogenid, herstellen. Ein Hydroxyimidazol der allgemeinen
Formel (I), in der R. einen Acylres.t bedeutet, kann aus der entsprechenden Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel (i), in der
H. ein V/asserstnffatom ist, durch Standard-Acylierungsverfuhren,

wie die Umsetzung mit. einem Säurehalogenid oder Anhydrid, hergestellt
werden.
Die erfindungsgemässen Hydroxyimidazole der allgemeinen P'ormel(l)
"besitzen kontaktinsektizide Wirkung und auch eine systemische insektizide Wirkung. Dass heisst, bei Applikation der erfindungsgemässen
Verbindung auf die Pflanze und insbesondere ander Stelle, wo sich die Wurzeln der Pflanze befinden,, wird so viel der
Verbindung in der Pflanze transportiert, dass jedes an der
Pflanze fressende Insekt dieser Insektiziden Wirkung ausgesetzt ist.
Die systemische Aktivität der erfindungsgemässen Hydroxyimidazole
der allgemeinen Formel (I) ist besonders gut, wenn R1=R2=
CH-z und Z = CO.N.R«Rc ist. Diese Verbindungen sind dann besonders
gegen blattfressende Insekten wirksam, insbesondere gegen Halbflügler und vor allem Blattläuse. Die erfindungsgemässen
Hydroxyimidazole besitzen auch Repellent- und/oder Antifrass- -. aktivität.
Die erfindungsgemässen Hydroxyimidazole der allgemeinen Formel
(i) werden daher als Pestizide verwendet, insbesondere

Die Erfindung betrifft ferner pestizide Mittel, die durch einen Gehalt an Hydroxyimidazol der allgemeinen Formel (i) als
Wirkstoff ,gegebenenfalls in Kombination mit einem oder mehreren
Verdünnunga-, Träger- oder Dispergiermittel gekennzeichnet sind.
Diese Trägermittel können flüssig oder fest sein und üollen
die Applikation der erfindungsgemässon Verbindung erleichtern.
Man kann die erfindungsgemässen Verbindungen so konfektionieren,
dass sie an Ort und Stelle selbst dispergieren, oder so,
dass sie in eine dispergierte Form gebracht werden können.

Flüssige Mittel der erfindungsgemässen Verbindungen sind daher entweder lösungen oder Emulsionen, die als solche verwendet werden können, oder mit Wasser oder anderen Verdünnungsmitteln
zu Sprays verarbeitet werden. In Fällen, in denen das

Trägermittel . bei den Bedingungen, unter denen es verwendet wird, nicht phytotoxisch sein. Im allgemeinen enthalten solche
Mittel noch ein Hetz-, Dispergier- oder Emulgiermittel. Andere flüssige Präparate sind Aerosole, in denen die erfindungsgemässe
Verbindung mit einem flüssiger T?"Hgermittel oder
einem Treibmittel kombiniert ist.
Man kann .die erfindungsgemässen Hydroxyimidazole auch als
■Stäubeoder benetzbare Pulver, Granulate oder Tabletten oder
als halbfeste Mittel , wie Pasten, 'anwenden. · Solche -Mittel
enthalten inerte Feststoffe, wie Ton, oder flüssige
Verdünnungsmittel, die selbst Netz-aigen- Bisltzen, und/oder
Netz-, Dispergier- oder Emulgiermittel. · Man kann auch Biude-
und/oder Haftmittel zusetzen.
Feste Mittel können auch in Form von Räuchermitteln angewendet
werden j die erf indungsgemässe Verbindung wird dann mit einem
Feststoff vermischt, um die Verdampfung zu fördern.
Im allgemeinen sollte jedes verwendete Träger-, Verdünnungs>oder
andere Hilfsmittel für Menschen, Säugetiere unU Pflanzen

Äquimolare Mengen Aldehyd und Dionmonoxim in einer geringen Menge 95prosentigeni Äthanol oder Dioxan werden bei Raumtemperatur
mit wässrigem Ammoniak (d= 0,B8; 80 ml/Mol Dionmonoxim)
versetzt, wobei im allgemeinen eine exotherme Reaktion auftritt. Die Temperatur wird unter 6O0C gehalten. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird über Nacht bei Raumtemperatur gerührt und anschliessend
24 Stunden stehen gelassen. Das Lösungsmittel wird unter vermindertem Druck abdestilliert. Es hinterbleibt eine
gummiartige Substanz, die in einer geringen Menge Aceton gelöst und mit Äther verdünnt wird. Das feste oder flüssige Produkt,
das sich nach strändigem mehrstündigem starken Rühren abscheidet, wird gesammelt.
Aus Acetou/Äther kristallisiert man dag wasserfreie Imiaazol--
ünd
derivat/ aus wässrigem Äthanol, erhält man das Honohydrat, da» sich durch Umkristall isation aus Aceton/Äther in das wasserfreie Produkt zurückverwandelt. Sowohl das wasserfreie Imidazolderivat als auch sein Monohydrat eignen sich für die Herstellung der entsprechenden Carbamate. BAD ORIGINAL

Ein Gemisch aus äquimolaren Mengen Alkyl- oder Arylaldoxim und
Dionmonoxim wird biß zur Entstehung einer homogenen Lösung erwärmt.
Nachdem das Gemisch 2 Tage bei Raumtemperatur stehen gelassen worden ist, wird es 6 Stunden auf dem Wasserbad erhitzt,
wieder über Nacht stehen gelassen und dann mit Äther verdünnt. Der sich abscheidende Peststoff wird abfiltriert und
aus Äthanol umlcristallisiert.

Tn eine siar-k gerührte Ketonlösung in Diäthyläther wird HClüas
mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 8 bis 10 Bläschen pro Minute eingeleitet. Nach 10 Minuten wird tropfenweise innerhalb

einer Stunde Amylnitrit mit einer solchen Geschwindigkeit zugegeben,
dass das Gemisch schwach siedet. Nach beendeter Zugabe wird 30 Minuten lang HCl-Gas eingeleitet, anechliessend
wird das Reaktionsgemisch über Nacht stehen gelassen. Die Ätherphase wird mit 5prozentiger Natronlauge gewaschen und
unter Rühren auf Eis/HCl gegossen. Es bildet sich ein Nieder- ,
schlag, der filtriert, gewaschen und in einem1 Exsiccator ge-
trocknet wird. '
Spezielle nach diesem Verfahren hergestellte Verbindungen sind ,'
Isonitroso-isobutylmethylketon, Pp. 700G, Isonitroso-äthyliso- 1

Alkylacetacetat und Eisessig werden vermischt und auf 5 bis 70C ;

des Lösungsmittels unter vermindertem Druck verbleiben 3»Ig
eineo rötlichen Öls. Dieses Öl wird chromatographisch auf
Kieselgelkolonne mit Chloroform als Eluierungsmittel gereinigt»
Die Verbindung wird anhand von IR- und NMR-Spektren sowie
durch Elementaranalyse identifiziert.
Herstellung von 1-N,N-Dimethylcarbamoyloxy-4-methyi_5_äthyl-2-isopropylimidazol-3-oxid
Biese Verbindung v/ird gemäss Beispiel 10 hergestellt.
Bestimmung der Insektiziden Wirkung
Versuch 1
Bekannte Konzentrationen der verschiedenen TeoVerbindungen in
Acetonlösung werden zusammen mit gaeigneten Netzmitteln auf Testplatten aufgetragen. Das Aceton wird abgedampft» pro Flächeneinheit
bleibt eine bekannte Menge der jeweiligen Testverb indung zurück. Auf so vorbereitete Testplatten werden erwachsene
Bssigfliegen (Drosophila melanogafjher) gesetzt.

den' Blättern von Saubohnenpflanzen werden Scheiben mit einem
Durohmesser vbn 2,5 cm geschnitten und in eine wässrige,
5prozentiges Aceton enthaltende Lösung bekannter Konzentration eingetaucht. Dann werden die Scheiben in einen Rahmen, der mit
einer Aaylat-Methacrylatharz-Folie ausgerüstet ist, gelegt und
über Dochte mit Wasser versorgt. Larven der schwarzen Bohrienblattlaus
(Äphis fabae) werden auf die Te'stscheiben'gesetzt
und festgehalten. Der Anteil der nach 24 Stunden getöteten Insekten wird- gemessen. "
Die Ergebnisse sind, in Tabelle I zusammengefasst.

Translaminare Eigenschaften von 4>5-Dimethyl-2-n-propyliniidazol-1 -dimethylcarbamat
Aus Blättern v/erden Scheiben geschnitten, deren Oberfläche sorgfältig mit einer wässrigen, 5prozentiges Aceton enthaltenden
lösung der Testverbindung behandelt wird. Danach werden die Scheiben getrocknet und mit der Unterseite nach oben in
einen Rahmen, der mit einer Acrylat-Methacrylatharz-Polie ausgerüstet
ist, gelegt. Der Versuch wird wie Versuch 2 fortgesetzt. Der Anteil der nach 48 Stunden getöteten Insekten wird
gemessen. Die Ergebnisse sind in Tabelle III zusammengefasst.
