A are effective insect control agents. Their usefulness as an insecticide is believed to be due to their juvenile hormone activity. They are preferably used in the immature insect, namely during the embryonic, larval or pupal stage, since they influence the metamorphosis and also otherwise cause abnormal development which leads to death or inability to reproduce. The compounds of the present invention are effective control agents for lepidoptera, homoptera such as black-leaved aphids, and other insects. They are particularly suitable for controlling aphids. The compounds can be used in low doses of 0.001 / tg to 1.0 / ig per insect. Suitable carrier substances include liquid or solid carriers such as water, acetone, xylene, mineral or vegetable oils, talc, vermiculite, natural and synthetic resins and silica. The treatment of the insects according to the invention is carried out by spraying, dusting, or by exposing the insects to the vapor of the compounds of the formula A. Usually a concentration of less than $ 25 will be the active
