Verfahren zur Herstellung von Cycloalkanol- und Cycloalkanon-Process for the production of cycloalkanol and cycloalkanone
GemischenMix
From British patent specification 716 820 it is known that mixtures such as those obtained in the oxidation of cyclohexane with air after oxidation in an acidic medium, cobalt salts, including those that are soluble in hydrocarbons, to add. "
It has now been found that mixtures of cycloalkanol and cycloalkanone are formed by oxidation of cycloparaffins having 5 to 12 carbon atoms in the liquid phase at temperatures between 130 and 190 ° C. and under a pressure of 5 to 25 atmospheres with gases containing molecular oxygen, optionally in the presence of heavy metal salt catalysts, and the addition of hydroperoxide-decomposing heavy metal catalysts to the reaction mixture after oxidation can be produced with better yields if the oxidation mixture is treated with an aqueous alkali hydroxide or carbonate solution at the same time as or after the addition of hydroperoxide-decomposing heavy metal salt catalysts, whereby the pH of the aqueous phase in the reaction mixture is kept between 8 and 11, preferably between 9 and 11, measured at 25.degree.
The reaction conditions for the cycloalkanone oxidation are known per se. Cycloparaffins with 5 to 12 carbon atoms can be used oxidize, for example cyclopentane, cyclohexane, cyclooctane, cyclododecane or methylcyclohexane. Technically has the oxidation of cyclohexane is of the greatest importance.
Dabei kann man im allgemeinen die niederen Kohlenwasserstoffe beiThe oxidation is done by passing gases containing molecular oxygen, e.g. B. air, through the cycloalkane in the absence or in the presence of conventional oxidation catalysts, ie heavy metal catalysts of the transition metals. In general, a reaction temperature of 130 to 190 ° C. is maintained and a pressure of 5 to 25 atmospheres is used. In general, the lower hydrocarbons can be used

The lower and higher hydrocarbons oxidize better at the higher temperature.
B. Isobutyraldehyd) bekannten Regeln. In addition, for the most favorable temperature, those when using apply rules known from catalysts and / or initiators (e.g. isobutyraldehyde).
Instead of air, (ie a gas mixture comprising about 20 wt.% Of oxygen and inert gases) can also be other gas mixtures by molecular oxygen using, for example, oxygen-carbon dioxide mixtures or mixtures of fresh air with the reactor exhaust gas, that is, oxygen-nitrogen mixtures with a lower concentration of oxygen than that of the air, which z. B. contain only 10 % oxygen, or oxygen-enriched mixtures containing, for example, j50 wt. ^ Oxygen. If catalysts are used (primary catalysts), oxidation catalysts known per se or those described in older applications are used, in particular cobalt compounds, but also mixtures of cobalt compounds with manganese compounds or manganese compounds alone, or compounds of copper, Iron, lead and / or nickel.
However, it is advantageous if such heavy metal compounds are used that are not precipitated by the water formed during the oxidation are, for example, complex compounds of cobalt, such as salicylaldehyde amine complexes ("salcomins"). Particularly proven have such cobalt compounds, on the one hand in cycloalkane are soluble and, on the other hand, are derived from strong acids, the term "strong acids" including those whose Activity is comparable to phosphoric acid or sulfuric acid. There are therefore in particular anions of phosphoric acid monoalkyl esters, Phosphoric acid dialkyl esters, sulfuric acid monoalkyl esters, Alkylsulfonic acids, alkylphosphonic acids and dialkylphosphinic acids are used. Instead of the alkyl compounds, you can also use the corresponding Use Äralky! Connections. To the oil solubility To be able to use the compounds, it is advantageous to use those strong acids as Äniöneri whose anions one

H. one in the cycloalkane solubilizing Contain substituents. There are therefore in particular those alkyl compounds or esters in question which have an alkyl radical of Contain 8 to 20 carbon atoms. Examples of such anions are therefore those of the phosphoric acid monooctyl ester, phosphoric acid monododecyl ester, Phosphoric acid monolauryl ester, phosphoric acid dioctyl ester, Phosphoric acid dodecyl ester, phosphoric acid dilauryl ester, Sulfuric acid monooctyl ester, sulfuric acid monododecyl ester, sulfuric acid monolauryl ester, octylsulfonic acid, Do.decyl
Examples of araliphatic derivatives are the anions of Octylbenzenesulfonic acid or dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid. Since the oxidation is basically also carried out without catalysts can be, even small additions of catalysts are effective. In general, about 0.1 to 10 ppm, in particular, are used 0.2 to 0.5 ppm by weight of metal based on the cyclohexane injected into the reactor.
The catalysts detailed above serve only as examples; all other catalysts customary for such oxidation reactions can of course also be used. The oxidation can also be carried out without primary catalysts. It is then advantageous to employ oxidation temperatures from 150 to 190 0 C.
Im allgemeinen wird aber bevorzugt, Katalysatorart,After oxidation has taken place, ie after the reaction mixture has left the oxidation reactor, a heavy metal salt customary as an oxidation catalyst, in particular a cobalt salt, for example in an amount of 0.1 to 10 ppm by weight (based on the reaction mixture leaving the oxidation reactor) is added to the reaction mixture. added as a hydroperoxide-decomposing catalyst (secondary catalyst). This secondary catalyst is allowed to act on the reaction mixture for a period of time, for example 20 to 200 minutes. Generally 20 to 80 minutes is sufficient. During this treatment the temperature is maintained at 80 to about 17O 0 C. When the temperature is relatively low, it may be expedient to provide longer treatment times. In general, however, it is preferred to use the type of catalyst

To coordinate the amount of catalyst and temperature so that the desired after treatment times of 20 to 50 minutes Effect occurs. As a rule, it can be stated that long residence times with low temperatures and long residence times with high temperatures short dwell times are coupled. All conventional oxidation catalysts can be used as the secondary catalyst, as listed above under the primary catalysts. However, the use of is also preferred here Cobalt compounds. You can use salts that are only sparingly soluble in the reaction mixture, for example cobalt sulfate, Cobalt nitrate or cobalt acetate; in particular, however, heavy metal salts which are soluble in cycloalkane are used; especially cobalt salts, for example naphthenates or ethylhexanates. It is of particular advantage here, also in the case of the secondary catalysts as heavy metal salts to use the complex cobalt compounds mentioned under the primary catalysts, which are not only soluble in cycloalkane are resistant to hydrolysis, also in the reaction mixture are and z. B. by the amounts present in the reaction mixture Water are not precipitated, i.e. those that are derived from strong acids or from complexes of the salcomin type. Examples such cobalt salts have already been mentioned in the list of primary catalysts.
As in all known processes, the oxidation can be carried out in one or more stages, with or without intermediate washing stages with water. The aftertreatment can be carried out after each of the individual oxidation stages or only after the last.
An alkali treatment can be done as well as washing with water after each of the individual Oxidation stages are made or only once after the last reactor. According to the invention, particularly high yields are achieved in the process if the reaction mixture simultaneously with the addition of the secondary catalyst or after the addition of the secondary catalyst with an aqueous one

Treated alkali hydroxide or carbonate solution, whereby the pH of the aqueous phase of the reaction mixture between 8 and 13, preferably between 9 and 11, measured at 25 ° C, holds. The easiest way to do this is to use a $ 1 to $ 20 in particular a 5 to 10 ^ strength alkali metal carbonate solution, in particular a soda or potash solution is used. But you can also use an aqueous alkali hydroxide solution, provided that that it is metered in so that the specified pH range is maintained during the washing phase. The mixture of the reaction ■ mixed with the alkali carbonate solution or with alkali hydroxide solution can e.g. B. in countercurrent in a packed column or in cocurrent in a stirred tank, at high temperature also in a pump acting as a mixer. Use at least as much alkali hydroxide or carbonate solution as that the acids present in the reaction mixture (i.e. the aqueous and the organic phase) are neutralized or water-soluble Salts are transferred and extracted as such into the aqueous phase.
It is useful in the case of the stirred tank or the mixing pump it is even necessary to then separate the oil and water phases by means of a separator or a separating vessel. From there you can one part of the solution now containing alkali salts of carboxylic acids by adding fresh sodium hydroxide solution until z. B. pH = 13 is reached, return to the alkaline aftertreatment.
Another advantage of aftertreatment with alkali in the pH range 8 to 13 is that the residence time of the secondary catalysts, especially when the alkali solution is added at the same time as the secondary catalyst, can be greatly shortened, so that 0.1 to 30, preferably J> up to 10 minutes are sufficient.
After any treatment with an aqueous alkali solution, the aqueous phase is separated off. In many cases it is cheap to go to after treatment and after washing with an alkali solution in the pH range from 8 to 13 and separation of the two-phase system Wash the organic phase again with dilute, aqueous alkali lye and, if necessary, wash it neutral with water.

The oxidation of cyclohexane was carried out under the following conditions: Cyclohexane, which is kept at a temperature of 145 ° C., is passed through under a pressure of -20 atmospheric air in such an amount that a conversion of 4.3 % is achieved. 0.7 ppm by weight of cobalt in the form of ethylhexanate, calculated on cyclohexane, is added to the cyclohexane. The residence time of the cyclohexane in the oxidation chamber is 27 minutes. The resulting reaction mixture is washed twice with 2 wt.% Water. The organic phase is then oxidized again with air at a temperature of 145 ° C. and under a pressure of 20 atmospheres for the same residence time of 27 minutes. 0.7 ppm by weight of cobalt in the form of MDIT phosphate are added to the reaction solution obtained (MDIT phosphoric acid is the stoichiometric 1 × 1 mixture of mono- and diesters of ο-phosphoric acid with isotridecanol). This secondary catalyst is allowed to act for 40 minutes at a temperature of 135.degree.
The reaction mixture obtained is then again treated twice with 2 vol. Of water each time, then once with enough 25% strength by weight sodium hydroxide solution for 6 minutes to keep the pH of the aqueous phase in the reaction mixture at 11, and finally washed again with 2 wt.% water.
