Verfahren und Vorrichtung zum kontinuierlichen Entschlacken vonMethod and device for the continuous purification of
Aluminiumaluminum
Kurze Zusammenfassung (Abstract) der Erfindung:Brief summary (abstract) of the invention :
The invention relates to a method and a device for Continuous casting of aluminum with a deslagging chamber arranged between mixing furnaces and a casting device, which melts Selectively picks up aluminum from the various mixing furnaces and carries out the detoxification continuously. Openings in the purification chamber allow slag to be removed without interference the purification process. A plurality of gas pipes causes the deslagging gas to pass through better with the molten one Metal, and the gas pipes are inclined so that a partial counterflow of gas and metal is achieved.

Cast aluminum profiles of the quality suitable for electrical conductor purposes are required to be deslagged. This will by means of gases such as chlorine, argon or dry nitrogen, or by some types of solid matter, such as substitute salts, obtain. This is particularly true for aluminum of electrical conductor quality which is processed by a continuous process such as the so-called Properzi method, is to be poured. The usual Purification is carried out in the mixing furnace immediately before casting. This is essentially a batch operation for a Continuous casting process is not well suited. The invention provides that the deslagging of the molten aluminum is carried out as it is conveyed from the mixing furnace through a system of troughs and chambers to the casting wheel. The purification will therefore carried out while the aluminum is ('in transit') and the deslagging agent, e.g. chlorine gas, is pressed by the molten metal under controlled pressure and partly in countercurrent.
The deslagging removes the hydrogen dissolved in the molten aluminum along with other insoluble impurities such as Alumina. The advantage of the invention is, among other things, that a more even detoxification is achieved, since the process is carried out at all times under more precisely regulated conditions since the amount of aluminum flowing through the purification chamber is about 1360 kg, whereas the contents of the mixing furnace amount to 9 to 18 t. Further advantages of the invention are the uniformity and smallness of the through a relative deep layer of molten metal pearlescent chlorine bubbles, the protective chlorine atmosphere over the metal and finally, the proximity of the purification chamber to the casting wheel.
