Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an inflatable belt, in particular for a seat belt.
Such a webbing is known from DE-PS 20 08 048. The strap shown here is as Hose formed and has a sewn-in tear fold, which is designed so that it in the event of a collision caused by tensile forces exerted by the belt and opening one coupled valve causes inflation of the hose belt. This will make the before Accident as a flat tube lying belt, the width of which is half the circumference of the inflated Belt corresponds, suddenly inflated. In doing so, he places a certain contrast to that simple belt is advantageous, impact cushion. Sufficient protection of the vehicle passport However, greed is due to the insignificant dimensions of the only locally inflated tube belt is not guaranteed satisfactorily. One also mentioned in the cited scripture Enlargement of the belt tube circumference with an inflatable cushion, which in one Belt part is arranged around the belt is also disadvantageous because the corresponding Pillow not necessarily in the right place in an emergency and therefore for his actual purpose is not available.
From the international application PCT / US 95/10695 is an inflatable tubular Restraint system known. The seat belt system shown here consists of a pelvis belt and a shoulder belt, with the lap belt partially consisting of an inflatable Balloon exists, which shortens its length during inflation and thus next to one Impact function also has a belt tensioning function. This is the abdominal cavity of the Passenger especially protected, but the shoulder and head area, except for an additional one Chen restraint of the shoulder due to the tightened belt, not considered further.
It is an object of the invention to provide a belt or a webbing that largely unlimited, d. H. also as independent of location as possible, optimal impact in an accident situation protection guaranteed.
This object is achieved with a two-layer inflatable webbing, especially for a seat belt that is a tubular webbing with two woven layers, namely one upper weave and a lower weave is woven, the weave two each have outer edge areas and a central area, the edge areas around, parallel to the longitudinal direction of the webbing between the edge areas and the middle Area extending outer fold edges are folded so that the folded fabric of the Border areas between the middle areas of the upper and lower weave layers comes to rest, and the middle areas of the upper weave and the lower Woven layer can be detached from one another at least in the area adjacent to the outer folded edges are connected, which is characterized in that in the region of the middle of the middle Areas of at least one connecting thread running essentially in the warp direction is woven or sewn in, the upper weave and the lower weave at least partially firmly connected with each other. This webbing according to the invention is advantageous ter suitable, which act on a passenger of a vehicle in a collision Restraining forces over the entire length of a seat belt to a much wider one Distribute area than is possible with a seat belt. This will make the The risk of injury to the passenger is reduced to a very high degree. The conventional ones Seat belts, on the other hand, cut deeply in the event of a collision, almost like thin ropes the body of the passenger and cause corresponding injuries. That special Advantageous features of the webbing shape according to the invention is that due to the connecting thread running in the area of the middle of the middle areas, which the upper and lower weave layer firmly connected to each other, in the event of a collision by inflation of the webbing does not result in a sausage-like shape, but rather an education in form a double leg and thus a much larger contact area than one sausage shaped inflation of the webbing.
In an advantageous development of the invention, the webbing, or its upper one Woven layer and lower weave layer each with an associated belt as a top belt and Reinforced lower belt. This advantageously results in a much stronger one Design of the webbing according to the invention, which in principle as the first Embodiment works, but additionally all the advantages of a ago conventional seat belt such as appearance, appearance, handling, etc. are still optimized.
Further advantageous embodiments and features of the invention are the dependent claims Chen to take.
To explain the invention and to show how it can be carried out, will now exemplary embodiments described with reference to drawings.
Fig. 1 shows a highly simplified schematic representation in cross section of an embodiment of an unfolded webbing according to the invention in the non-inflated state.
Fig. 2 shows the webbing shown in Fig. 1 in a somewhat exploded Dar position, the edge regions shown unfolded in Fig. 1 here between intermediate areas of the woven layers are shown folded.
Fig. 3 shows the webbing shown in the previous figures after blowing on.
FIGS. 4 to 6 show in FIGS. 1 to 3 are analog representations of a further embodiment of the belt webbing according to the invention with associated upper and lower.
FIG. 7 shows the cross-sectional shape of the seat belt shown in FIG. 8 along the line II-II.
Fig. 8 shows schematically a top view of a further embodiment of the invention, namely a seat belt divided into three longitudinal sections, in the middle, ie first longitudinal section of which the inventive webbing is placed.
Fig. 1 shows a two-ply, inflatable webbing 2 in folded-out condition with an upper woven ply and a lower woven ply 42 41 each in two outer edge regions RB, and a central edge region RB are divided. The webbing 2 is shown schematically in the position in which it can be woven, for example, on a needle ribbon or jacquard weaving machine. The weave itself and the type of warp and weft materials used can be taken from the person skilled in the art, for example, from specifications suitable for airbag fabrics. The edge areas RB are folded inward approximately along the fold edges FK lying in the transition area from the central area MB to the respective edge area RB. In the area of the folded edges FK, after the leporello-like folding of the edge areas, attached tear seams AN are attached, which tear open when the belt webbing is supplied with explosion gas and allow the expansion in accordance with FIGS. 3, 6 and 7. In Fig. 3 remnants of the tear seams AN are shown schematically. The tear seams are understandably produced only after the edge regions RB have been folded in.
In principle, the use of the present webbing for seat belts is intended such that the edge areas RB, as shown in FIG. 2, are folded or folded like a leporello into the space between the upper weave layer 42 and the lower weave layer 41 , so that the middle one Area MB of the weaving layers is approximately the width of a conventional seat belt and takes over its function in a vehicle. FIG. 2 is shown somewhat apart from FIG. 1: in fact, the leporello-like fabric layers of the edge regions RB lie closely and closely packed on one another, so that a connecting thread N running in the region of the middle of the middle region MB connects the upper weave layer 42 and the lower weave layer 41 contracts close to each other and firmly connects them. In principle, this also applies to the representation of the webbing in the other figures of this description. However, a somewhat spaced connection of the upper and lower weave layer via the connecting thread N is also possible, depending on the wishes of the user.
Fig. 3 shows the contour of the webbing filled after a collision after inflation with a working gas. One recognizes the roughly double-lobe-like figure and the large width of the inflatable belt strap that is achieved due to the configuration of the belt strap according to the invention. With this arrangement of the edge regions RB folded into the central region MB, up to approximately 3 times the belt width of the inflated belt band can be achieved. The resulting reduced surface pressure on the passenger is obvious. This also makes it plausible to understand that the injuries to the passenger are significantly less than those caused by belt straps alone. The configuration of the webbing according to the invention, which can be used over the entire length of the seat belt, enables a favorable force distribution in the entire area of contact of the webbing on the body of the passenger, and thus protects the passenger in the event of a collision.
FIGS. 4 to 6 show in principle the same configurations of the webbing according to the invention corresponding to FIGS. 1 to 3. Alternatively, however, here are a top chord and a bottom chord OG UG in the illustrated manner reinforcing in the central area MB of the upper and lower woven ply arranged.
FIG. 8 shows an application of the invention in a seat belt in which three length sections are defined, namely a first length area EL, a second length area ZL and a third length area DL. One can see in the middle of FIG. 8 a tubular seat belt webbing 5 running through the entire drawing with the two weave layers "upper chord upper" and "lower chord UG", between which different materials are introduced in individual lengths to be described. In the first length section EL, the webbing according to the invention is inserted between the upper flange OG and lower flange UG and connected to them. In the second and third longitudinal sections ZL, DL, the upper flange OG and lower flange UG are woven together at the edge. In the first length section EL in the edge area, on the other hand, they are not connected to one another, but run completely separately from one another above and below the belt webbing 2 according to the invention, which is shown in the illustration according to FIG. 8 in the unfolded, relaxed state. For reasons of space, the first length section EL is shown here only in a very shortened form. In fact, it is much longer. For example, it should run over the pelvis and chest area of a passenger.
The connecting thread N can be seen in the first length section EL. The arrows A and E mark the beginning and the end of the first length section EL. Starting from arrow A, connecting thread N is shown in FIG. 8, only attached up to approximately the height of arrow K. If the webbing 2 is sewn gas-tight along the dash-dotted weft lines running in the direction of arrows A and E, the cross-sections shown in FIGS . 6 and 7 along lines II ( FIG. 6) and II result after inflation of the webbing 2 -II ( Fig. 7). In this embodiment, gas hoses GS for supplying the belt webbing 2 to be inflated are passed through the seam EN running in the direction of arrow A, for example. The gas hoses GS connected to a gas generator (not shown) or another (not shown) other gas source are sewn in such a way that gas can be introduced into the webbing 2 in the event of a collision when the seat belt is triggered.
Preferably, the seat belt according to the invention is arranged on the body of the passenger so that it comes to rest with the upper end shown in FIG. 8 in the head region of the passenger, so that in addition to the surface effect according to the cross-sectional representations of FIGS . 3 and 6, the balloon-like cross-sectional shape so that the Vorknicken of the head of the passenger is kept to a minimum is achieved according to Fig. 7. Of course, the distance or the length of the connecting thread N, which firmly connects the upper and lower weave with each other, is not determined on the distance between the arrows A and K. Depending on the wishes of the user, this route can be shortened or extended.
The gas hoses GS shown in the third length section DL are preferably sewn along the extending in the flight of the arrow A dot-dash line on the belt 2 so that they are in the relaxed state as flat as a non-inflated flaccid webbing.
