Abstract
Description
The present application relates to anionic surfactant granules for use in Detergents and cleaning agents.
Anionic surfactants based on alkyl sulfates, especially alkali salts of alkyl sulfate, especially fatty alcohol sulfates (FAS), comes when building textile detergents formulations of great importance. These solid anionic surfactants when dry are widely used in combination with nonionic surfactant compounds Basic components of textile detergents.
Als FAS-Komponenten mit aniontensidischer Wirkung kommen insbesondere die entsprechenden Fettalkohol derivate einer Kettenlänge der Fettalkoholreste mit 10 bis 22 C-Atomen, insbesondere der Bereich C12-18, in Betracht.FAS-based anionic surfactants are, in particular, the sodium salts of esters from Switzerland rock acid with fatty alcohols of natural and / or synthetic origin more suitable Chain length. Derivatives based on natural products can be particularly important that are known for their straight-chain fatty alcohol residues - and that associated special ecological compatibility - distinguish. As FAS components the corresponding fatty alcohol in particular comes with an anionic surfactant effect Derivatives of a chain length of the fatty alcohol residues with 10 to 22 carbon atoms, in particular the Range C12-18.
The washing and cleaning activity of the individual members of this series of FAS compounds affected here has been the subject of numerous studies and publications. For the understanding of the teaching according to the invention, two of the numerous parameters examined in this context are significant, which have a mutually opposing development with increasing number of carbon atoms in the straight-chain alkyl radical and can thus lead to an undesired hindrance or restriction of this anionic surfactant class:
The solubility of the FAS sodium salts decreases with increasing chain length, especially in the range of low washing temperatures - for example in the temperature range from approximately 20 to 40 ° C. The washing properties of these anionic surfactants, on the other hand, increase with increasing C number of the fatty alcohol residues. The use of FAS components based on saturated fatty alcohols with 16/18 carbon atoms is particularly desirable from the point of view of washing technology and in particular from the point of view of the desired textile cleaning. In the implementation of this approach, considerable difficulties arise due to the poor solubility of these components, especially at the low wash liquor temperatures mentioned. With no claim to completeness, the following applies: the dissolution of appropriate surfactant-containing preparations in the cold washing liquor - as is generally specified in the washing-up process in the household washing machine - creates difficulties. Because of the high Krafft points of the C 16/18 FAS anionic surfactants in particular affected here, no micelle formation of these surfactant substances can occur in the lower temperature range of the wash liquor. The spreading of the undissolved surfactants on the items to be cleaned and thus the promotion of the washing process does not take place in this low temperature range. The Krafft point is the temperature at which micelles form from the surfactants and the solubility of the surfactant increases suddenly. For C 16/18 fatty alkyl sulfate, Krafft points in the range from 46 to 50 ° C. are typically given. This means that these surfactants are only slightly soluble above this temperature. These surfactants, which have excellent washing properties, are therefore not very suitable for use in modern washing conditions, where washing is often carried out at temperatures up to 40 ° C.
The prior art knows numerous approaches for reducing the problems addressed here. The use of structure breakers, solution mediators, components for mixed micelle formation and the like has been proposed in numerous variants. One principle provides for the use of the particularly poorly soluble anionic surfactant salts based on C 16/18 -FAS (derived from corresponding saturated fatty alcohols) with corresponding FAS components based on the shorter-chain fatty alcohols with in particular 10 to 14 C atoms. Overall, significantly improved results are obtained, for example, if textile detergents of the type concerned here contain FAS-based anionic surfactants which contain at least about 25 to 30% by weight, based on the FAS content, of such comparatively short-chain FAS components contain. Sufficient dissolution or dispersion of the intrinsically poorly soluble C 16/18 -FAS components can also be ensured here, even in the early phase of the washing process in the household washing machine. However, these comparatively short-chain fatty alcohol sulfates only make a limited contribution to the surfactant cleaning result. DE 43 32 373 and WO 94/03077 describe such water-free detergent mixtures based on long-chain and short-chain alkyl sulfates of the type concerned here - or their use in detergents or cleaning agents compressed by extrusion - with fatty alcohols and corresponding fatty alcohol ethoxylates also being used as structure breakers 12 to 18 carbon atoms and up to an average of 5 EO groups can also be used in the structural computer molecule.
The application DE 195 26 483 describes that the comparative poorly soluble anionic surfactants based on the longer-chain fatty alcohol sulfate salts in Ge presence of the aqueous liquor even in the low temperature range up to 40 or 50 ° C, especially in the range of about 20 to 35 ° C then surprisingly soluble when selected together with selected nonionic surfactant compounds the class of end-capped fatty alcohol oligo-ethoxylates and / or -Propoxylates are used in the aqueous liquor.
U.S. Patent 3,632,517 describes detergent compositions which In addition to FAS, α-sulfo fatty acid methyl ester (MES) and soap flakes as well as builders contain. The principle is used that mixtures of surfactants may have a common Krafft point that is lower than the Krafft point of one of surfactants. In particular, α-sulfo fatty acid methyl ester is used here Solubility improvement of alkyl (en) sulfates used. This has Surfactant mixture better washing properties than FAS alone and improves that Dissolution behavior of FAS. Mixtures of FAS with MES are particularly advantageous and soap flakes, especially in the presence of disodium α-sulfo fatty acids. Measurable will improve the dissolution properties in a lowering of the Krafft point from 46 ° C with pure FAS to 31 to 38 ° C in the mixture.
It is known from US 3,632,517 that mixtures of FAS with MES and soap in particular may have lower Krafft points than pure FAS, however the document contains no evidence that this principle also applies to granules is transferable. In particular, the font does not contain anything other than "mixture" Instructions on how such surfactant mixtures in detergents and cleaning agents should be incorporated.
It has been shown that this principle is particularly so when the surfactants are used in different granules are present or are inhomogeneously distributed in granules is transferable. Should surfactant granules, especially in modern detergents high bulk weights are used, so there is the problem of bad Cold water solubility of alkyl sulfates continues. Now became an option found alkyl (en) sulfates - and especially long chain alkyl sulfates - in a granular To provide form that allows their use at low washing temperatures.
It has been found that alkyl sulfate granules have improved washing efficiency and especially show improved cold water solubility when in the granules Mixtures of the alkyl sulfates with certain other anionic surfactants are in the form, that the granules behave like granules of only a single surfactant when dissolved and accordingly only have one Krafft point.
Accordingly, a first subject of the invention are anionic surfactant granules which are suitable as additives in detergents and / or cleaning agents and contain alkyl sulfate which characterized in that it contains at least 45% by weight of anionic surfactant, where at least 20 wt .-% of the anionic surfactant contained consists of alkyl sulfate and the Granules contain at least two different anionic surfactants, but only one Point that is below 46 ° C.
The Krafft point is determined according to DIN 53918 using a Turbidity measurement. Such granules have particular advantages in Cold water solubility, d. H. the solubility below 40 ° C. Here is the achieved Improvement is often significantly greater than when looking at the Krafft points alone would suggest.
A second subject of the invention is accordingly anionic surfactant granules are suitable as additives in detergents and / or cleaning agents and contain alkyl sulfate, characterized in that it contains at least 45% by weight of anionic surfactant, where at least 20 wt .-% of the anionic surfactant contained consists of alkyl sulfate and the Granules contain at least two different anionic surfactants, and the granules in Solubility test (L test at 30 ° C) leave less than 5 wt .-% residue.
The solubility test (L test) is carried out as follows: To determine the Solubility behavior (L test) are 8 g of the test substance in a 2 l beaker Granules with stirring (800 rpm with laboratory stirrer / propeller stirring head 1.5 cm from loading centered) and sprinkled for 1.5 minutes at the measuring temperature (30 ° C or 20 ° C) stirred. The test is carried out with water with a hardness of 16 ° d. The lye is then poured off through a sieve (80 µm). The beaker will rinsed with very little cold water over the sieve. There is a double Determination. The screens are in the drying cabinet at 40 ° C ± 2 ° C up to Constant weight dried and the residue weighed.
The granules according to the invention already leave at 30 ° C. in this L test less than 5 wt .-% residue, while pure alkyl sulfate granules only very poor are soluble and typically more than 50% by weight under the conditions specified here Leave behind. Granules preferred according to the invention leave in the L test at 30 ° C even less than 3 wt .-% residue and particularly advantageous Embodiments of the invention even at 20 ° C less than 5 wt .-% residue.
There are no special requirements for the bulk density of the granules posed. Depending on the manufacturing process, it is typically in the range of 500 to 750 g / l. Are special for incorporating the granules in detergents or cleaning agents Requirements placed on the bulk weight, it can also be higher or lower than that specified range can be selected.
It is essential, however, that the surfactants are present in the granules as a homogeneous mixture. According to the current state of knowledge, the only way to ensure that the granules are behave like a surfactant when dissolved and have only one Krafft point. It is According to the invention, this Krafft point is lower than the Krafft point in the granules pure alkyl sulfate used. This homogeneous mixture is achieved by already for granulation, a homogeneous mixture of at least two of the surfactants contained, one of which is the alkyl sulfate is used.
For the purposes of this invention, alkyl sulfates are understood to mean C 8 -C 22 alk (en) yl sulfates. The C 8 -C 22 alkyl sulfates used are the alkali and in particular the sodium salts of the sulfuric acid half esters of C 8 -C 22 fatty alcohols, such as lauryl, myristyl, cetyl or stearyl alcohol or the fatty alcohol mixtures obtained from coconut oil, palm and palm kernel oil , which additionally shares in unsaturated alcohols, for. B. oleyl alcohol, or the C 10 -C 20 oxo alcohols and those half esters of secondary alcohols of this chain length. Also preferred are alkyl sulfates of the chain length mentioned which contain a synthetic, straight-chain alkyl radical prepared on a petrochemical basis and which have a degradation behavior analogous to that of the adequate compounds based on oleochemical raw materials. C 12-18 alkyl sulfates, but in particular C 16 -C 18 alkyl sulfates, are preferred for reasons of washing technology.
In an alternative embodiment of the invention, however, no or not only saturated alkyl sulfates, but also unsaturated alkenyl sulfates with an alkenyl chain length of preferably C 16 to C 22 are used, which also fall under the generic term alkyl sulfate in this text. Mixtures of saturated sulfated fatty alcohols consisting predominantly of C 16 and unsaturated sulfated fatty alcohols consisting predominantly of C 18 are particularly preferred, for example those derived from solid or liquid fatty alcohol mixtures of the HD-Ocenol® type (commercial product of the applicant). Weight ratios of alkyl sulfates to alkenyl sulfates from 10: 1 to 1: 2 and in particular from about 5: 1 to 1: 1 are preferred. 2,3-Alkyl sulfates, which are produced, for example, according to US Pat. Nos. 3,234,258 or 5,075,041 and can be obtained as commercial products from the Shell Oil Company under the name DAN®, are also suitable alkyl sulfates.
In addition to the alkyl sulfates, the granules contain at least one more Anionic surfactant, an anionic surfactant being selected here that is suitable with alkyl sulfates Form mixtures that have only one Krafft point, the Krafft point being the Mixture is lower than the Krafft point of the alkyl sulfate used.
Vorzugsweise finden dabei Tenside vom Sulfonat-Typ Verwendung. Surfactants of the sulfonate type are preferably used. Preferred surfactants of the sulfonate type are C 9 -C 13 alkylbenzenesulfonates, olefin sulfonates, that is to say mixtures of alkene and hydroxyalkanesulfonates, and also disulfonates of the type obtained, for example, from C 12 -C 18 monoofefins with an end or internal double bond by sulfonation Gaseous sulfur trioxide and subsequent alkaline or acidic hydrolysis of the sulfonation products. Also suitable are alkanesulfonates obtained from C 12 -C 18 alkanes, for example by sulfochlorination or sulfoxidation with subsequent hydrolysis or neutralization. Also particularly suitable are the esters of α-sulfofatty acids (ester sulfonates), for example the α-sulfonated methyl esters (MES), in particular the hydrogenated coconut, palm kernel or tallow fatty acids, which are obtained by α-sulfonation of the methyl esters of vegetable and / or animal fatty acids Origin with 8 to 20 carbon atoms in the fatty acid molecule and subsequent neutralization to form water-soluble mono-salts. These are preferably the α-sulfonated esters of hydrogenated coconut, palm, palm kernel or tallow fatty acids, with sulfonation products of unsaturated fatty acids, for example oleic acid, in small amounts, preferably in amounts not above about 2 to 3% by weight. %, can be present. In particular, α-sulfofatty acid alkyl esters are preferred which have an alkyl chain with no more than 4 carbon atoms in the ester group, for example methyl esters, ethyl esters, propyl esters and butyl esters. The methyl esters of α-sulfofatty acids (MES) are used with particular advantage. However, the use of the so-called disalts of the α-sulfo-fatty acid methyl esters, ie the di-metal-α-sulfo-fatty acids, is not desirable according to the invention, since these compounds are comparatively difficult to dissolve and thus the requirement according to the invention to improve the solubility of anionic surfactant granules , do not match. Therefore, the metal-α-sulfo fatty acids can only be contained in small amounts in the granules. For the purposes of the invention, a small proportion of α-sulfo fatty acid di-salt is understood to mean that disalts of α-sulfo fatty acids make up less than 5% by weight of the granules, preferably even less than 3% by weight of the Make out granules. Granules containing α-sulfo fatty acid methyl ester have a Krafft point below 46 ° C. If the granules contain alkylbenzenesulfonate in addition to alkyl sulfate, they preferably have a Krafft point below 42 ° C.
Other suitable anionic surfactants can be sulfonated fatty acid glycerol esters, which are mono-, di- and triesters and their mixtures, such as those produced by esterification by a monoglycerol with 1 to 3 moles of fatty acid or in the transesterification of triglycerides with 0.3 to 2 moles Glycerin can be obtained. In addition, other anionic surfactants, in particular sulfuric acid monoesters of the straight-chain or branched C 7 -C 21 alcohols ethoxylated with 1 to 6 mol of ethylene oxide, such as 2-methyl-branched C 9 -C 11 alcohols with an average of 3.5 mol of ethylene oxide (EO) or C 12 -C 18 fatty alcohols with 1 to 4 EO and the salts of alkylsulfosuccinic acid, which are also referred to as sulfosuccinates or as sulfosuccinic acid esters. Other anionic surfactants that can be used are fatty acid derivatives of amino acids, for example N-methyl taurine (taurides) and / or N-methyl glycine (sarcosides). The sarcosides or sarcosinates, and in particular sarcosinates of higher and optionally mono- or polyunsaturated fatty acids such as oleyl sarcosinate, are particularly preferred.
The anionic surfactants can be in the form of their sodium, potassium, or ammonium Magnesium salts and as soluble salts of organic bases, such as mono-, di- or Triethanolamine. The anionic surfactants are preferably in the form of their Sodium or potassium salts, especially in the form of the sodium salts.
Dabei liegt das bevorzugte Verhältnis von Alkylsulfat zu α- Sulfo-fettsäuremethylester beispielsweise im Bereich 2 : 1 bis 1 : 5, insbesondere im Bereich 1,5 : 1 bis 1 : 3.The granules contain anionic surfactants at least in amounts of 45% by weight, preferably in amounts above 50% by weight, and in particular even more than 60% by weight anionic surfactant. At least 20% by weight of the Anionic surfactant content of alkyl sulfates formed. Alkyl sulfates are preferred in the Granules in amounts of 15-40 wt .-%, based on the granules. Further it may be preferred that the various anionic surfactants are present in similar amounts in the Granules are included. The preferred ratio of alkyl sulfate to α- Sulfo-fatty acid methyl esters, for example in the range 2: 1 to 1: 5, in particular in the range 1.5: 1 to 1: 3.
Der Krafft-Punkt eines solchen Granulates ist deutlich erniedrigt, er liegt unter 42°C.Granules which are particularly preferred from a washing point of view contain alkyl sulfate, α-sulfo fatty acid methyl ester and alkylbenzenesulfonate each in amounts of 10 to 40% by weight, preferably in amounts of 15 to 30 wt .-%, with the fact that both Ratio of alkyl sulfate to methyl α-sulfo fatty acid as well as the ratio of Alkyl sulfate to alkyl benzene sulfonate is in the range 1.5: 1 to 1: 3. The Krafft point one such granules is significantly reduced, it is below 42 ° C.
Weitere
geeignete Tenside sind Polyhydroxyfettsäureamide der Formel (I),
In addition to the anionic surfactants, the granules may also contain nonionic surfactants. Preferred nonionic surfactants are alkoxylated, advantageously ethoxylated, in particular primary alcohols with preferably 8 to 18 carbon atoms and an average of 1 to 12 moles of ethylene oxide (EO) per mole of alcohol and alkyl glycosides of the general formula RO (G) x , in which R is a primary one straight-chain or methyl-branched, in particular in the 2-position methyl-branched aliphatic radical having 8 to 22, preferably 12 to 18 carbon atoms and G stands for a glycose unit with 5 or 6 carbon atoms, preferably for glucose. The degree of oligomerization x, which indicates the distribution of monoglycosides and oligoglycosides, is an arbitrary number - which, as an analytically determinable variable, can also take fractional values - between 1 and 10; x is preferably less than 2, in particular less than 1.5. Other suitable surfactants are polyhydroxy fatty acid amides of the formula (I),
Formel (II),
in which R 1 CO is an aliphatic acyl radical having 6 to 22 carbon atoms, R 2 is hydrogen, an alkyl or hydroxyalkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and [Z] is a linear or branched polyhydroxyalkyl radical having 3 to 10 carbon atoms and 3 to 10 hydroxyl groups stands. The polyhydroxy fatty acid amides are preferably derived from reducing sugars with 5 or 6 carbon atoms, in particular from glucose. The group of polyhydroxy fatty acid amides also includes compounds of the formula (II)
Sind nichtionische Tenside in den Granulaten enthalten, so sind sie zu maximal 20 Gew.-%, bevorzugt zu maximal 15 Gew.-%, enthalten.in which R 3 represents a linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl radical having 7 to 12 carbon atoms, R 4 represents a linear, branched or cyclic alkyl radical or an aryl radical having 2 to 8 carbon atoms and R 5 represents a linear, branched or cyclic alkyl radical or Aryl radical or an oxy-alkyl radical having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, C 1 -C 4 -alkyl or phenyl radicals being preferred, and [Z] for a linear polyhydroxyalkyl radical whose alkyl chain is substituted by at least two hydroxyl groups, or alkoxylated, preferably ethoxylated or propoxylated derivatives of this radical. [Z] is also preferably obtained here by reductive amination of a sugar such as glucose, fructose, maltose, lactose, galactose, mannose or xylose. The N-alkoxy- or N-aryloxy-substituted compounds can then, for example according to the teaching of international patent application WO-A-95/07331, be converted into the desired polyhydroxy fatty acid amides by reaction with fatty acid methyl esters in the presence of an alkoxide as catalyst. If non-ionic surfactants are contained in the granules, they are contained in a maximum of 20% by weight, preferably in a maximum of 15% by weight.
The granules according to the invention preferably contain only medium to low Amounts of water, since the flowability of the surfactant granules increases with the water content decreases significantly. According to the invention, preference is given to granules of the maximum 10% by weight of water, preferably less than 7% by weight of water and in particular then if the surfactant content is above 70% by weight, preferably less than 4.5% by weight Water.
The anionic surfactant granules preferably also contain carrier substances. Are suitable here in particular compounds which contain a builder or Can perform cobuilder function. It can be inorganic or act organic compounds.
Among the suitable inorganic carrier components are in particular To count aluminosilicates, alkali sulfates and carbonates. Also preferred according to the invention is the joint use of different inorganic carriers, especially the Combination of aluminosilicate and soda as a carrier, the weight ratio of Aluminosilicate to soda from the range 1: 5 to 5: 1, particularly preferably from the Range 1: 2 to 2: 1, is selected, has proven to be advantageous in anionic surfactant granules proven.
Among the aluminosilicates, crystalline aluminosilicates - the zeolites - are preferably used. Zeolites A, P, X, Y and mixtures thereof are preferred zeolites as carriers. The use of zeolite A as a carrier is known from numerous publications. However, zeolite P and the faujasite-type zeolites have an increased oil absorption capacity compared to zeolite A and can therefore be preferred in granules. In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, at least part of the zeolite used, preferably at least 20% by weight and preferably even the entire zeolite, is made of faujasite-type zeolite. In the context of the present invention, the term “zeolite of the faujasite type” denotes all three zeolites which form the faujasite subgroup of the zeolite structure group 4. In addition to zeolite X, zeolite Y and faujasite and mixtures of these compounds can also be used according to the invention, pure zeolite X being preferred. The zeolite A-LSX described in European patent application EP-A-816 291, which corresponds to a co-crystallizate of zeolite X and zeolite A and in its anhydrous form has the formula (M 2 / n O + M ' 2 / n O) .Al 2 O 3 .zSiO 2 , where M and M' can be alkali or alkaline earth metals and z is a number between 2.1 and 2.6. This product is commercially available under the brand name VEGOBOND AX from CONDEA Augusta SpA. If zeolite P is used, it may be preferred to use a zeolite MAP as described in European patent EP-B-380 070. The particle sizes of the zeolites used according to the invention are preferably in the range from 0.1 to 100 μm, preferably between 0.5 and 50 μm and in particular between 1 and 30 μm, each measured using standard particle size determination methods.
Organic builder components suitable as carriers are, in particular, polycarboxylates. Here are, for example, the polycarboxylic acids that can be used in the form of their sodium salts, where polycarboxylic acids are understood to mean those carboxylic acids which are more than bear an acid function. For example, these are citric acid, Adipic acid, succinic acid, glutaric acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, maleic acid, Fumaric acid, sugar acids, aminocarboxylic acids, nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA), if one such use is not objectionable for ecological reasons, as well as mixtures from these. Preferred salts are the salts of polycarboxylic acids such as citric acid, Adipic acid, succinic acid, glutaric acid, tartaric acid, sugar acids and mixtures of this, especially trisodium citrate.
In addition, polymeric polycarboxylates are also suitable as organic carrier materials. These are, for example, the alkali metal salts of polyacrylic acid or polymethacrylic acid, for example those with a relative molecular weight of 500 to 70,000 g / mol. For the purposes of this document, the molecular weights given for polymeric polycarboxylates are weight-average molecular weights M w of the particular acid form, which were determined in principle by means of gel permeation chromatography (GPC), a UV detector being used. The measurement was made against an external polyacrylic acid standard, which provides realistic molecular weight values due to its structural relationship to the polymers investigated. This information differs significantly from the molecular weight information for which polystyrene sulfonic acids are used as standard. The molecular weights measured against polystyrene sulfonic acids are generally significantly higher than the molecular weights given in this document. Suitable polymers are, in particular, polyacrylates, which preferably have a molecular weight of 2,000 to 20,000 g / mol. Because of their superior solubility, the short-chain polyacrylates which have molar masses from 2000 to 10,000 g / mol, and particularly preferably from 3000 to 5000 g / mol, can in turn be preferred from this group. Also suitable are copolymeric polycarboxylates, in particular those of acrylic acid with methacrylic acid and of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid with maleic acid. Copolymers of acrylic acid with maleic acid which contain 50 to 90% by weight of acrylic acid and 50 to 10% by weight of maleic acid have proven to be particularly suitable. Their relative molecular weight, based on free acids, is generally 2,000 to 70,000 g / mol, preferably 20,000 to 50,000 g / mol and in particular 30,000 to 40,000 g / mol.
In particularly advantageous embodiments, mixtures of organic and inorganic carriers are used. Independent of Mixtures of different carriers, or only one carrier component can be used, the carrier content in the granules is preferably between 5 and 55% by weight. Under the aspect of anionic surfactant granules with the highest possible surfactant content it is preferred, however, if in the granules the carrier in amounts less than 50% by weight, less than 40% by weight is particularly preferably present, in particular Carbonates are preferably contained only in amounts of less than 30% by weight.
If the granules are to have only low water contents, it is particularly so preferably use as a carrier those compounds that are still in the granules Can absorb moisture and thus prevent the anionic surfactants from sticking together. The Use of such carriers thus improves the flow and dissolving behavior of such Granules and increases their shelf life. Carriers particularly suitable for this purpose are the zeolites of the faujasite type and zeolite P and additionally, for example calcined soda. It is to increase the shelf life of the granules according to the invention preferred if the zeolite is used in an over-dried form, d. H. that he has a removable water content at 800 ° C, which is lower than that Equilibrium water content of the type of zeolite used.
For the production of the granules according to the invention which have only one Krafft point and are easily soluble, all granulation processes are suitable in principle, whereby it is as has significantly emphasized that intimately mixed surfactant pastes for granulation can be used that have an almost neutral pH.
Accordingly, preferred granules are obtained by using a paste at least two anionic surfactants are prepared and mixed intimately, this paste is then adjusted to a pH from the range 6.0 to 8.5 and is then subjected to a granulation step.
Another object of the invention is a process for the preparation of anionic surfactant Granules that are suitable as additives in detergents and / or cleaning agents and one Krafft point below 46 ° C, characterized in that a paste at least two anionic surfactants are prepared and mixed intimately, this paste is then adjusted to a pH from the range 6.0 to 8.5 and is then subjected to a granulation step.
The surfactants already described above are used as surfactants, the Anionic surfactants are used in the form of pastes, preferably aqueous pastes. In particular, it is preferred if one of the anionic surfactants is an alkyl sulfate acts. However, this manufacturing process can also advantageously be used to manufacture alkyl sulfate free anionic surfactant granules are used.
Mixing the pastes can be done in any liquid mixer that is intimate Mixing ensures. For example, systems such as Static mixer (Sulzer or Kenics), loop reactors and mixing vessels with one intensive mixing stirrer. It is only essential that in the resulting paste there is a homogeneous mixture of the anionic surfactants.
The pH is preferably adjusted using an acidic one Component. For this purpose, all are preferably suitable for use in washing and Acid components suitable for cleaning agents. This can be both carboxylic acids as well as mineral acids or acidic salts of mineral acids. Among the Carboxylic acids are preferred in particular those which are also cobuilders own. Here are in particular polycarboxylic acids such as citric acid, adipic acid, Succinic acid, glutaric acid, tartaric acid, sugar acids, aminocarboxylic acids, Nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA), provided that such use is not permitted for ecological reasons is objectionable, as well as mixtures of these. These acids can can be used anhydrous or in the form of their hydrates. Among the usable Mineral acids are especially sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, carbonic acid and Hydrochloric acid, and its acid salts. According to the invention is preferred as acidic component, preferably citric acid and / or sodium hydrogen sulfate used, the sole use of citric acid a particularly advantageous Embodiment represents. It is desirable to adjust the pH to Neutral range 6.0 to 8.5, with pH values from the range 6.5 to 8.0 being preferred.
This step of adjusting the pH, which is essential to the invention, leads to various advantages: First, the viscosity of neutral anionic surfactant pastes is generally lower than that Viscosity of alkaline anionic surfactant pastes. Accordingly, the processing of the Pastes facilitated and in particular an economical spraying of the pastes by the pH adjustment enabled. On the other hand, it can with regard to the application of resulting granules may be preferred if they have a neutral effect. It should be mentioned here in particular the use in agents which, when used in contact with the human skin. For example, in cosmetic Products, but also in washing and cleaning agents, for example hand washing agents, be desired to use neutral components.
Especially when using α-sulfo-fatty acid methyl ester as an anionic surfactant Adjustment of the pH value is another essential function: in particular at elevated temperature hydrolysis of the methyl ester, which leads to undesirable formation of the so-called disalt, in particular the disodium salt, the corresponding sulfo fatty acid leads is prevented. Accordingly, is suitable the process described here, in particular for the production of anionic surfactant granules, which contain methyl α-sulfo fatty acid, but only a small proportion of α-sulfo have fatty acid disodium salt. With a small proportion of α-sulfo-fatty acid di In the context of the invention, sodium salt is understood to mean that disalts of α-sulfo- fatty acids less than 5% by weight of the granules, preferably even less than 3% by weight of the granules.
The subsequent granulation step can be carried out in any suitable plant respectively. However, it is preferred if the paste, preferably using a Carrier component, granulated by spray agglomeration and preferably simultaneously is dried.
The granulation can be suitable for any spray agglomeration Mixer / granulator take place; However, granulation in a batchwise manner is preferred or continuously running fluidized bed. It is particularly preferred to carry out the process continuously in the fluidized bed. The liquid preparations into the Fluidized bed introduced.
The production, as described in the European patent EP-B-603 207, respectively. According to the teaching of the patent, a surfactant preparation that is not Has surfactant liquid component and under normal pressure at 20-40 ° C in liquid to pasty form, granulated and dried at the same time. Advantages of this Process for the production of free-flowing granules of different types of surfactants the avoidance of browning of the surfactants due to gentle drying and that Absence of dust in the granules.
The carrier materials used are those already mentioned above described carrier. The carrier component, as well as any other components that may be present Solids are either dusted pneumatically via blow lines, the Add either before the liquid components are sprayed or at the same time as this takes place, or as a solution or suspension in a mixture with the liquids. Here the liquid components are mixed either before atomization or immediately in the nozzle. The arrangement of the nozzle or nozzles and the spray direction can be any, as long as there is a substantially uniform distribution of the liquid Components in the fluidized bed is reached.
Fluidized bed apparatuses used with preference have base plates with dimensions of at least 0.4 m. In particular, fluidized bed apparatuses are preferred, the one Base plate with a diameter between 0.4 and 5 m, for example 1.2 m or 2.5 m have. However, fluidized bed apparatuses which have a base plate are also suitable have a diameter larger than 5 m. As the base plate is preferred a perforated base plate or a Conidur plate (commercial product from Hein & Lehmann, Federal Republic of Germany). Preferably that is Method according to the invention at swirl air speeds between 1 and 8 m / s and performed in particular between 1.5 and 5.5 m / s.
The granules are advantageously discharged from the fluidized bed via a Size classification of the granules. This classification can be done with a Screening device or by an opposite air flow (classifier air), the is regulated so that only particles from a certain particle size out of the Fluidized bed removed and smaller particles retained in the fluidized bed. In a preferred embodiment, the inflowing air settles out of the heated one or unheated classifier air and the heated bottom air together. The Soil air temperature is preferably between 80 and 400 ° C, in particular between 90 and 350 ° C. The vortex air cools through heat loss and through Evaporation heat of the constituents of the solvent. In one particularly preferred embodiment, the temperature of the vortex air is about 5 cm above the bottom plate 60 to 120 ° C, preferably 70 to 100 ° C. The air outlet temperature is preferably between 60 and 120 ° C, especially below 100 ° C.
If the discharge from the fluidized bed takes place against a classifier air flow, as described in EP-B-0 603 207, dust-free granules are obtained by this classification, ie the particle sizes of the particles are above 0.2 mm. Granules preferred according to the invention have ad 50 values between 0.4 and 2.0 mm. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the grain fraction that is greater than 2.0 mm is returned. This coarse grain fraction can either be added as a solid component after grinding the fluidized bed or it is dissolved again and sprayed into the fluidized bed.
Furthermore, the fluidized bed apparatus can be a device for generating an air rotation about the vertical axis of a fluidized bed apparatus, such as that in the older application DE 198 50 099.8 is described, which is designed so that an air supply is installed above the horizontal vertebral floor, which has at least two injection channels that are evenly spaced from each other and at the same height above the vortex floor at an angle of attack of at least 30 ° and a maximum of 90 ° are attached. This device performs in a round Fluid bed apparatus with rising external flow to a homogeneous Temperature distribution. In such an apparatus can also special spherical granules are made because of the vertical flow outside the fluidized bed apparatus has a higher speed than in the center of the apparatus and via an air supply above the vortex floor, a vortex flow around the vertical axis of the apparatus is generated.
In the granulation according to the invention, to maintain the Fluidized granulation process continuously powdering the fluidized bed be introduced. Zeolites are preferably used as powdering agents, it being particularly preferred to use the carriers according to the invention Zeolites can also be used as powdering agents. Reduce these powdering agents during granulation, additionally, and promote the stickiness of the moist granules thus the swirling and drying to the desired product. The particle size the powdering agent is less than 100 μm and contains the granules thus obtained then between 1 and 4% by weight of the powdering agent. For the production of This variant can be advantageous for granules by the process according to the invention, however, it is not absolutely necessary to carry out the invention.

The washing and cleaning agents according to the invention, which are in the form of granules, powder or tablet-shaped solids or other moldings can be present in addition to mentioned compounds in principle all known and usual in such means Contain ingredients. Beispiele hierfür sind (Talg-) Fettalkohole mit 14 EO, 16 EO, 20 EO, 25 EO, 30 EO oder 40 EO.The surfactants already mentioned are preferably also used as nonionic surfactants. In particular, however, alcohol ethoxylates with linear residues from alcohols of native origin with 12 to 18 carbon atoms, for. B. from coconut, palm, tallow or oleyl alcohol, and an average of 2 to 8 EO per mole of alcohol preferred. The preferred ethoxylated alcohols include, for example, C 12 -C 14 alcohols with 3 EO or 4 EO, C 9 -C 11 alcohols with 7 EO, C 13 -C 15 alcohols with 3 EO, 5 EO, 7 EO or 8 EO, C 12 -C 18 alcohols with 3 EO, 5 EO or 7 EO and mixtures thereof, such as mixtures of C 12 -C 14 alcohol with 3 EO and C 12 -C 18 alcohol with 7 EO. The degrees of ethoxylation given represent statistical averages, which can be an integer or a fraction for a specific product. Preferred alcohol ethoxylates have a narrow homolog distribution (narrow range ethoxylates, NRE). In addition to these nonionic surfactants, fatty alcohols with more than 12 EO can also be used. Examples of these are (tallow) fatty alcohols with 14 EO, 16 EO, 20 EO, 25 EO, 30 EO or 40 EO.
The nonionic surfactants also include alkyl glycosides of the general formula RO (G) x , in which R is a primary straight-chain or methyl-branched, in particular methyl-branched aliphatic radical having 8 to 22, preferably 12 to 18 C atoms and G is for one Glycose unit with 5 or 6 carbon atoms, preferably for glucose. Die N-Alkoxy- oder N-Aryloxy-substituierten Verbindungen können dann beispielsweise nach der Lehre der internationalen Patentanmeldung WO 95/07331 durch Umsetzung mit Fettsäuremethylestern in Gegenwart eines Alkoxids als Katalysator in die gewünschten Polyhydroxyfettsäureamide überführt werden.in which R 3 for a linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl radical having 7 to 12 carbon atoms, R 4 for a linear, branched or cyclic alkylene radical or an arylene radical with 2 to 8 carbon atoms and R 5 for a linear, branched or cyclic alkyl radical or is an aryl radical or an oxyalkyl radical having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, C 1 -C 4 alkyl or phenyl radicals being preferred, and [Z] for a linear polyhydroxyalkyl radical whose alkyl chain is substituted by at least two hydroxyl groups, or alkoxylated, preferably ethoxylated or propoxylated derivatives of this radical. [Z] is also preferably obtained here by reductive amination of a sugar such as glucose, fructose, maltose, lactose, galactose, mannose or xylose. The N-alkoxy- or N-aryloxy-substituted compounds can then, for example according to the teaching of international patent application WO 95/07331, be converted into the desired polyhydroxy fatty acid amides by reaction with fatty acid methyl esters in the presence of an alkoxide as catalyst.
Another class of preferably used nonionic surfactants, which either as sole nonionic surfactant or in combination with other nonionic surfactants, in particular together with alkoxylated fatty alcohols and / or alkyl glycosides, are used are alkoxylated, preferably ethoxylated or ethoxylated and propoxylated fatty acid alkyl esters, preferably having 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the Alkyl chain, especially fatty acid methyl esters, such as those found in Japanese Patent application JP 58/217598 are described or preferably according to the in the international patent application WO 90/13533 become.
Also nonionic surfactants of the amine oxide type, for example N-cocoalkyl-N, N-di methylamine oxide and N-tallow alkyl-N, N-dihydroxyethylamine oxide, and the fatty acid alkanol amides can be suitable. The amount of these nonionic surfactants is preferred not more than that of the ethoxylated fatty alcohols, especially not more than that Half of it.
So-called gemini surfactants can be considered as further surfactants. Below are in generally understood such compounds that have two hydrophilic groups per molecule have. These groups are usually separated from one another by a so-called "spacer" Cut. This spacer is usually a carbon chain that should be long enough that the hydrophilic groups are spaced sufficiently apart to be independent can act from each other. Such surfactants are generally characterized by a unusually low critical micelle concentration and the ability to Greatly reduce the surface tension of the water. In exceptional cases under the term gemini surfactants not only "dimer", but also understood accordingly "trimeric" surfactants. Suitable gemini surfactants are for example sulfated hydroxy mixed ethers according to the German patent application DE 43 21 022 or dimer alcohol bis and trimer alcohol tris sulfates and ether sulfates according to German patent application DE 195 03 061. End group sealed dimeric and trimeric mixed ethers according to German patent application DE 195 13 391 are particularly characterized by their bi- and multifunctionality. So they own end-capped surfactants mentioned have good wetting properties and are included Low foaming, so that they are particularly suitable for use in machine washing or Cleaning procedures are suitable. Other suitable organic builder substances are dextrins, for example oligomers or polymers of carbohydrates, which can be obtained by partial hydrolysis of starches. Geeignete Einsatzmengen liegen in zeolithhaltigen und/oder silicathaltigen Formulierungen bei 3 bis 15 Gew.-%.Oxydisuccinates and other derivatives of disuccinates are also preferred Ethylene diamine disuccinate are other suitable cobuilders. Here, ethylenediamine N, N'-disuccinate (EDDS), the synthesis of which is described, for example, in US Pat. No. 3,158,615 is preferably used in the form of its sodium or magnesium salts. Farther preferred in this context are also glycerol disuccinates and Glycerol trisuccinates, such as, for example, in the US patents US 4,524,009, US 4,639,325, in European patent application EP-A-0 150 930 and Japanese Patent Application JP 93/339896. Suitable Amounts used in formulations containing zeolite and / or silicate are 3 to 15% by weight.
Other useful organic cobuilders are, for example, acetylated Hydroxycarboxylic acids or their salts, which may also be in lactone form and which have at least 4 carbon atoms and at least one Contain hydroxy group and a maximum of two acid groups. Such cobuilders will described for example in international patent application WO 95/20029.
Another class of substances with cobuilder properties are the phosphonates. These are, in particular, hydroxyalkane or aminoalkane phosphonates. Among the hydroxyalkane phosphonates is 1-hydroxyethane-1,1-diphosphonate (HEDP) of particular importance as a cobuilder. It is preferably used as the sodium salt used, the disodium salt neutral and the tetrasodium salt alkaline (pH 9) responds. The preferred aminoalkane phosphonates are ethylenediamine tetramethylene phosphonate (EDTMP), diethylene triamine pentamethylene phosphonate (DTPMP) as well as their higher homologues in question. They are preferably in the form of neutral reacting sodium salts, e.g. B. as the hexasodium salt of EDTMP or as hepta and Octa sodium salt of DTPMP, used. As a builder, the class becomes the Phosphonates preferably used HEDP. The aminoalkane phosphonates also have a pronounced heavy metal binding capacity. Accordingly, it can, in particular if the agents also contain bleach, aminoalkanephosphonates are preferred, use in particular DTPMP, or mixtures of the phosphonates mentioned to use.
In addition, all compounds that are able to complex with Form alkaline earth ions are used as cobuilders.
A preferred inorganic builder is finely crystalline, synthetic and bound water containing zeolite, as already used as a carrier for the Granules according to the invention has been described.
Suitable partial substitutes for zeolites are layer silicates of natural and synthetic origin. Layered silicates of this type are known, for example, from patent applications DE-B-23 34 899, EP-A-0 026 529 and DE-A-35 26 405. Their usability is not limited to a special composition or structural formula. However, smectites, in particular bentonites, are preferred here. Also crystalline, layered sodium silicates of the general formula NaMSi x O 2x + 1 .yH 2 O, where M is sodium or hydrogen, x is a number from 1.9 to 4 and y is a number from 0 to 20 and preferred values for x 2 , 3 or 4 are suitable for the substitution of zeolites or phosphates. Such crystalline layered silicates are described, for example, in European patent application EP-A-0 164 514. Preferred crystalline phyllosilicates of the formula given are those in which M is sodium and x is 2 or 3. In particular, both β- and δ-sodium disilicate Na 2 Si 2 O 5 .yH 2 O are preferred.
The preferred builder substances also include amorphous sodium silicates with a modulus Na 2 O: SiO 2 of 1: 2 to 1: 3.3, preferably of 1: 2 to 1: 2.8 and in particular of 1: 2 to 1: 2,6, which are delayed release and have secondary washing properties. The delay in dissolution compared to conventional amorphous sodium silicates can be caused in various ways, for example by surface treatment, compounding, compacting / compression or by overdrying. In the context of this invention, the term “amorphous” is also understood to mean “X-ray amorphous”. This means that the silicates in X-ray diffraction experiments do not provide sharp X-ray reflections, as are typical for crystalline substances, but at most one or more maxima of the scattered X-rays, which have a width of several degree units of the diffraction angle. However, it can very well lead to particularly good builder properties if the silicate particles provide washed-out or even sharp diffraction maxima in electron diffraction experiments. This is to be interpreted as meaning that the products have microcrystalline areas of size 10 to a few hundred nm, values up to max. 50 nm and in particular up to max. 20 nm are preferred. Such so-called X-ray amorphous silicates, which also have a delay in dissolution compared to conventional water glasses, are described, for example, in German patent application DE-A-44 00 024. Compacted / compacted amorphous silicates, compounded amorphous silicates and over-dried X-ray amorphous silicates are particularly preferred, the over-dried silicates in particular also preferably being present as carriers in the granules according to the invention or used as carriers in the method according to the invention.
It goes without saying that the generally known phosphates are also used as Builder substances possible, provided that such use is not for ecological reasons should be avoided. The sodium salts are particularly suitable Orthophosphate, the pyrophosphate and especially the tripolyphosphate. Your salary generally not more than 25% by weight, preferably not more than 20% by weight, each based on the finished product. In some cases it has been shown that in particular tripolyphosphates in small amounts up to a maximum of 10% by weight, based on the finished agent, in combination with other builder substances to form one lead to synergistic improvement of secondary washing ability.
Among the compounds which serve as bleaching agents and supply H 2 O 2 in water, sodium perborate monohydrate or tetrahydrate and sodium percarbonate are of particular importance. In order to achieve an improved bleaching effect when washing at temperatures of 60 ° C and below, bleach activators can be incorporated into the preparations. A surfactant paste was used to produce anionic surfactant granules according to the invention from alkyl (en) sulfate (FAS) and α-sulfo-fatty acid methyl ester (MES) in a mixer manufactured and homogenized. Then the pH of the paste was measured Citric acid adjusted to pH = 7. The paste was then in a Fluidized bed granulation system (AGT 400; Glatt) sprayed into the simultaneously as Carrier zeolite X was introduced.
Degussa) verwendet. The α-sulfo-fatty acid methyl ester used in all examples E1-E3 according to the invention was α-sulfo-fatty acid methyl ester of C 14/16 fatty acids. An alkyl sulfate of the C12-18 chain cut was used as FAS in E1 and E2 (Sulfopon 1218G®; trade name from Henkel); in E3 an oleyl cetyl alcohol sulfate (Sulfopon O 680®; trade name from Henkel) was used. In Examples E2 and E3, alkylbenzenesulfonate was used in addition to the homogeneous MES-FAS paste. Sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (Maranil A 55®; trade name from Henkel) was used here, which was sprayed into the fluidized bed via a three-component nozzle separate from the FAS-MES paste. Wessalith XD® (trade name of Degussa) was used as zeolite X in all examples.
Als Vergleichsbeispiel V wurde ein FAS-Granulat (Sulfopon 1218G®; Handelsname der Fa. Henkel) hergestellt.A FAS granulate (Sulfopon 1218G®; trade name of Manufactured by Henkel).
Free-flowing granules with compositions according to Table 1 were obtained. The Grain size distribution was measured directly at the discharge of the fluidized bed, a Coarse grain screening was not carried out here.
All of the granules produced according to the invention can be handled in air. without sticking or losing their free-flowing properties, and dissolve quickly.
To determine the solubility behavior (L test), 8 g were placed in a 2 l beaker of the granules to be tested with stirring (800 rpm with laboratory stirrer / propeller stirring head Centered 1.5 cm from the beaker bottom) and sprinkled for 1.5 minutes at 30 ° C or 20 ° C stirred. The test was carried out with water with a hardness of 16 ° d. The lye was then poured off through a sieve (80 μm). The beaker was rinsed with very little cold water over the sieve. There was a double Determination. The sieves were dried in the drying cabinet at 40 ° C ± 2 ° C Constant weight dried and the residue weighed. The results are also given in Table 1.
The Krafft point was determined according to DIN 53918 using a Turbidity measurement.
