Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an injection molding device and a method for Manufacture of precision optical and precision mechanical parts from one Thermoplastic with the in the preamble of claims 1 and 23 mentioned features.
The International Society of Optical Engineering, Vol. 2600, 23.-24. A summary overview of the basic structure of a Injection molding device for precision optical parts from one thermoplastic and those to be observed during their production Process parameters, as well as those suitable for injection molding technology optical materials is the essay "Opto-mechanical details in injection molded assemblies, Raymond T. Hebert, Proceedings SPIE - The International Society of Optical Engineering, Vol. 2600, 23.-24. Oct. 1995, pp. 34-41. The optical which is produced is important in the production Quality of the surfaces and the optical homogeneity in the injection molded Plastic material.
Precision optical parts are defined by the fact that with interferometric Checking the surface the maximum deviation of the surface geometry a strip up to a free diameter of D 50 mm from the nominal value is.
One speaks of precision mechanical parts when one Surface roughness in the nm range, dimensional tolerances in the µm range, one high stress corrosion resistance and dimensional stability of the Injection molded parts are required.
The dimensional accuracy of the quality achieved is increasing over a long period demand. The dimensional accuracy is directly dependent on the size of the Internal stress and flow orientation in the injection molding. Residual stresses arise from the usually existing large difference between the Temperature of the plasticized injection molding compound and the temperature of the Form nests in the manufacturing process.
For the melt temperature (MT) of the plasticized injection molding compound and the Tool temperature (WT) of the respective mold nests generally applies to Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) MT = 240 to 270 ° C with WT = 40 to 90 ° C, for polycarbonate (PC) MT = 280 to 330 ° C with WT = 60 to 120 ° C and at Polyoxymethylene (POM) MT = 180 to 210 ° C with WT = 30 to 60 ° C.
This shock-like cooling of the injection molding compound when entering the A mold cavity is created at the injection molding compound / mold cavity wall interface So-called spray skin, which has very strong mechanical stresses. By A voltage gradient is generated based on the existing temperature gradients. These mechanical ones "frozen" at the solidification temperature Tensions can arise in the amorphous, thermoplastic represented polarization-optically and via the associated path difference (Phase difference) can be given quantitatively.
The spray skin usually has a thickness of approx. 0.1 mm even with careful processing. With a usual path difference of approximately Γ = 850 nm, a mechanical stress of at least δ = 12 N / mm 2 results.
Such mechanical stress conditions in the injection molded part are the cause of the inadequate long-term stability of the injection molding. The through the mechanical stress states forced internal flow processes over time, the voltage states will be the same or in total individual areas (relaxation) and thereby create a z. T. strong deformed geometry of the injection molded parts. The relaxation already begins Room temperature, but can be accelerated by higher temperatures become. So z. B. an injection molded lens initially precision optical quality become completely unusable in this way.
The remaining mechanical stress states in one precision optical injection molding lead to the optical behavior of a quasi uniaxial crystal, d. H. the optical constants, e.g. B. the Refractive index, are dependent on the respective mechanical State of tension. This is not acceptable for precision optical parts. Also the problem of the permanent coating of injection molded parts with optical and mechanical functional layers is due to the presence of the Spray skin attributed.
In the case of a precision mechanical injection molding, the frozen ones produce mechanical stresses a reduction in mechanical resilience.
In connection with organic solvents, the z. B. contained in adhesives are, and under the influence of air humidity this leads to the so-called Stress corrosion cracking and thus failure of the component. Still is the dimensional accuracy of the injection molded part in long-term behavior is not given, which is also unacceptable for precision mechanical parts.
With the manufacturing process of injection molding technology are also inevitable molecular changes in the plasticized injection molding compound, that need to be carefully analyzed. The plasticized injection molding compound consists of a polymeric material, d. H. the individual "molecules" are Molecular chains, made up of 25,000 to 75,000 individual molecules, depending on Material and type. This plasticized, amorphous mass now flows from the Injection molding cylinder via the sprue and the connection to the mold cavity, the mass shows a "non-Newtonian behavior", i. H. the viscosity of the Melt depends on the size of the shear and deformation rate from. This behavior is called structural viscosity. So that's it Peculiarity of the melt meant, with increasing shear rate to show better flow properties. Rising shear rate produces a falling viscosity and thus better flow properties and vice versa. In addition, the viscosity depends on the temperature. Here applies that rising temperature also a falling viscosity and thus produces better flow properties.
Another effect is that the long molecular chains move in the direction of flow orient, regardless of whether a temperature gradient between flowing mass and sprue wall is present or not. The one with it connected order in the molecular structure is expressed in a quasi crystalline behavior of the injection molding. On the way from Injection molding cylinder over the sprue and the connection to the mold cavity but turbulence caused by sudden Redirections / changes of direction and gradual changes of the Sprue or connection cross-section arise. The one on one straight path of the runner created defined order state is thereby partially changed, so that an undefined order status with flow-oriented molecular chains. It has been shown that the Flow orientation is irreversible and is not subject to relaxation.
One of the processes to be considered in the molecular area also the shear of the thermoplastic material during the injection molding process and the resulting thermal degradation of the thermoplastic material.
Shear is the internal friction of the material during the Filling process. The internal friction arises from the Velocity gradient of the plasticized mass when flowing inside the sprue, the connection and the mold nest. Due to the Adhesion is the flow rate at the interface between plasticized injection molding compound and sprue wall almost zero. in the The plasticized injection molding compound moves with the cross-sectional center maximum speed. Have the different speeds a strong friction and thus shear of the chain molecules. This Friction releases a considerable amount of heat. Exceeds the generated thermal energy the binding energy z. B. the -C-C bond, so the polymeric molecule is broken down (cracked). Show precision optical parts then a large deviation of the optical parameters from the target values, such as B. refractive index and ν value (Abbe's number). The optical values differ across the cross section of the optical component, causing streaks arise that are independent of the flow orientation and the Residual stresses are.
In the case of precision mechanical parts, it occurs on the one hand because of the different density (density gradient) to a volume change that a Deformation / warping of the component and on the other hand to a lower mechanical strength. The manufacturer of the Injection molded mechanical data are no longer or only valid to a limited extent.
If the specified temperature set on the injection molding cylinder for Plasticization and processing of the thermoplastic injection molding compound is exceeded, in the worst case this can even lead to Burn the thermoplastic material. That manifests itself in transparent parts in a discoloration of the material. At precision mechanical, black colored parts, consisting of one amorphous plastic, this damage is not discernible. Only that Determination of the dynamic solvent viscosity provides information about this. In the case of a black, semi-crystalline plastic, the Crystallite melting point of the granules and the injection molded part determined and hence the degree of damage.
From the described context, the task for Invention an injection molding device and a suitable for its operation Specify a process to avoid the formation of a spray skin, the Flow orientation and shear minimized, adhesion reduced and the injection speed can be optimized.
This object is achieved with an injection molding device and a method of initially mentioned type according to the invention by the in claims 1 and 23 specified characteristic features solved. Beneficial Refinements and developments result from the features of Subclaims.
The invention is based on considerations that, in contrast to the previously common principles. One is currently in the foreground The highest possible production speed with a stable production process. The shortest cycle times are only thermally slow Injection mold and minimum values for the temperatures of the Injection molding compound and the injection mold, as well as maximum To achieve filling speeds. Rapid demolding of the Injection molding can only be reached if the temperature of the Injection mold already close to the demolding temperature of the Injection molded part.
According to the invention, however, to avoid a spray skin, the fact that in the Plasticized injection molding compound introduced during the mold Flowing into the mold cavity and while cooling Demolding temperature no significant temperature gradient build up.
This is achieved on the one hand by the fact that the Injection molding compound the temperature in the sprue area and in the mold cavity is at least almost the same. However, the same temperatures are desirable. On the other hand, the cooling process is to be set so that the on the Interface between plasticized injection molding compound and cavity wall amount of heat dissipated at any time with that from the core area of the Injection molding amount of heat is equal.
These conditions also apply to injection molded parts made from a semi-crystalline material Plastic too. Caused by different crystallite growth by a temperature gradient, are serious density and Volume differences built up between the edge and middle area and thus a stress gradient that the mechanical resilience and the Long-term stability of the injection molded part significantly reduced.
The conditions according to the invention are achieved in the Device used injection mold in that the steel mass of Mold top and bottom mold and the mold stamps depending on the mechanical strength is reduced so that the thermal inertia adapted quickly to the heat balance of the injection molding to be cooled Cooling allows. The basic idea of reducing the mass of the Construction elements of the injection mold leads to an additional one Advantage, which is that the upper and lower die and the Sheathing the mold cavity as interchangeable parts in the upper and lower mold Mold bottom can be executed. Because in the manufacture of precision optical and precision mechanical injection molded parts the parts produced with an injection mold are smaller economic reasons for the versatility of the Basic structure of the injection mold is of particular importance.
The heat balance of the injection molded part can be Material type, volume, surface and geometry using known methods be determined. This heat balance is the basis for the construction the injection mold. The calculated amount of heat that the Injection molded part must be removed until demolding also serves as Basis for the temperature program to be created for the Cooling process. The sizes known from thermodynamics, such as Thermal conductivity, heat transfer, heat transfer, specific heat are crucial for creating the cooling Temperature program that ensures the formation of a spray skin avoids.
Both liquids and gases can be used as coolants. Suitable liquids are e.g. B. water, glycerol, water / glycerol mixtures, polyglycols, paraffins C 12 to C 16 , phthalic acid esters and chlorinated paraffins. Air, nitrogen and carbon dioxide are particularly suitable gases.
The heat balance of the Injection molding, the specific heat of the mold cavity material and Coolant, because the economical manufacturing for manufacturing Precision optical and precision mechanical components also required not only the shortest possible cycle time, but also a short one Coolant flow. Are preferably for the sheathing of the mold cavity To use bronze alloys which, with suitable strength, are higher Have thermal conductivity as corresponding steel alloys.
The course of the temperature control channels must be arranged so that there is a counterflow from the gate-distant to the gate-near part of the mold cavity.
The head part of the die forming the mold nest for manufacture Precision optical components preferably consist of a galvanic illustrated nickel / copper replicas of a corresponding optical Glass surface. The material thickness of the copper replica must be Strength reasons at the thinnest point to be about 5 mm Avoid deformation under injection molding conditions. Does the The optical surface should be made of a high-alloy steel Back ribs contain, due to their geometric design ensure that the heat transfer over the entire optical surface goes smoothly. This requirement also applies to manufacturing precision mechanical components.
Specially shaped inserts made from highly heat-conducting materials can also be used as carriers Material such as B. copper or copper alloys may be provided. Form- and temperature-fit molded parts can be formed that they are in direct contact with the tempering agent and a homogeneous heat dissipation adapted to the heat balance enable.
B. ist ET ≈ 140°.The temperature program must be set so that the physical Conditional thermal inertia after minimizing the injection mold remaining mass does not unnecessarily extend the cycle time. It will achieved that before the cooling process to the demolding temperature of the injection molding the heating of the injection mold in the area of Connection already starts again. At least two are therefore independent provide temperature control circuits that can be controlled or regulated from one another. The first Circle runs in the connection already mentioned and the second circle surrounds the mold nest. The upper limit of the temperature when heating of the mold nest should be 1.3 to 1.5 times the freezing temperature ET of thermoplastic amorphous material amount to the emergence of a To avoid spray skin. For polymethyl methacrylate, the ET is ≈ 100 ° C and for polycarbonate z. B. is ET ≈ 140 °.
For semi-crystalline thermoplastic materials, 1.1 to 1.2 times that applies Crystallite melting point.
To ensure the adhesion of the thermoplastic material to the surface of the To reduce form stamps, these are expediently with a Provide non-stick layer. The non-stick layer preferably consists of a Plasma layer with a thickness of 100 up to 200 nm. A larger layer thickness must be avoided in order to Not unnecessarily reduce heat transfer. When demoulding the Injection molded parts are then no disadvantage because of the non-stick layer mechanical forces exerted on the surface. In addition are in the area of the interface between thermoplastic material and Mold cavity wall the shear and thus the emergence more optically effective Inhomogeneities minimized.
Flow orientations are not complete in the injection molding process due to the system to avoid. But you can take special measures so far be reduced so that they no longer meet precision optical requirements to appear disruptive. First of all, make sure that none turbulent flow within the plasticized injection molding compound during of the mold filling process occurs. The cavity filling must be laminar flowing mass.
Particular attention must be paid to the geometry of the sprue. For the diameter in the sprue, z. For example, the following values must be observed: nozzle side D min = 4 mm, cavity side D min = 6 mm with a length of the sprue of I max = 100 mm. The resulting minimum cross-sectional area is then S min = 28 mm 2 . This value must not be undercut in the area of the transition from the sprue to the mold nest, the connection, so that the flow orientation can be kept negligible.
formenden Optikteile gelten:
In the area of the transition into the mold cavity, the following values for the ratio V of the length L to the height H as a function of the edge height H R of the optical parts to be molded should preferably apply to the rectangular cross section of the connection:
VL:H = 2 : 1 (L = 7,5 mm, H = 3,75 mm)
für Optikteile mit einer Randhöhe HR ≧ 5 mm
VL:H = 3 : 1(L = 9,3 mm,H = 3,10 mm)
für Optikteile mit einer Randhöhe HR ≦ 5 mm
VL:H = 4 : 1 (L = 11 mm, H = 2,55 mm)
für Optikteile mit einer Randhöhe HR ≧ 3 mm
VL:H = 12 : 1 (L = 19 mm, H = 1,50 mm)
für Optikteile mit einer Randhöhe HR ≦ 3 mm,
V L: H = 2: 1 (L = 7.5 mm, H = 3.75 mm)
for optical parts with a rim height H R ≧ 5 mm
V L: H = 3: 1 (L = 9.3 mm, H = 3.10 mm)
for optical parts with a rim height H R ≦ 5 mm
V L: H = 4: 1 (L = 11 mm, H = 2.55 mm)
for optical parts with a rim height H R ≧ 3 mm
V L: H = 12: 1 (L = 19 mm, H = 1.50 mm)
for optical parts with a rim height H R ≦ 3 mm,
Dabei gilt:
In the case of precision mechanical parts, the ratio V L: H must be determined as a function of the flow length S L from the connection to the point in the mold cavity that is furthest from the connection. The following applies:
VL:H = 2 : 1 bei SL = 100 bis 150 mm
VL:H = 3 : 1 bei SL = 60 bis 100 mm
VL:H = 4 : 1 bei SL = 20 bis 60 mm
VL:H = 12 : 1 bei SL ≦ 20 mm.V L: H = 2: 1 at S L = 100 to 150 mm
V L: H = 3: 1 at S L = 60 to 100 mm
V L: H = 4: 1 at S L = 20 to 60 mm
V L: H = 12: 1 at S L ≦ 20 mm.
A completely different one from conventional methods There is also a procedure for the treatment of the loss of volume when the injection molding cools down. In injection molding technology, Cooling of the thermoplastic mass in the mold cavity from the Melt temperature to the demoulding temperature shrinkage compensated with the help of a "reprint". It will be in the already partially cooled mass still further at mass temperature Material fed under increased pressure.
Of course, this method has a very high flow orientation and Internal stress in the gate area. For the production Precision optical and precision mechanical parts is one of them Volume shrinkage compensation method completely unsuitable.
The result of the flow orientation and residual stress To avoid disadvantages, the compensation of the shrinkage in volume done without pressure, d. H. there must be the possibility of a so-called. free shrinkage be created. To achieve this, the material in the range of Under no circumstances "freeze" the connection, but must be on the same Temperature is maintained, as in the mold cavity. Then it can in the mold nest cooling material automatically according to the volume change material Pull out of the gate area, which thus serves as a material depot. The Temperature programs for the sprue with the connection and for that Form nest must run synchronously. This demand is one with high Reproducibility working regulation of the individual temperature control circuits ahead. Due to the continuous cooling, the so-called Injection mold shrinkage after molding. This in the Injection molding technology known post-shrinkage is usually caused by later relaxation of mechanical stresses and leads to that already explained geometry change in the shape of the injection molded part.
Several influencing factors come into consideration as the cause of the shear, the then must also be considered for minimizing this effect. It if the temperature of the injection molding compound is too low, too high Roughness depth of the surface in the runner, high adhesion of the polymeric material on the surface of the runner, too high Injection speed or an injection pressure that is too high and too low Cross-section in the area of the connection.
According to the invention, the highest specified by the manufacturer is fundamentally Select temperature for the injection molding compound. With that, the Processing viscosity and shear minimized.
The roughness of the surface of the sprue must be between R t = 0.16 to 0.25 µm. The roughness depth in the runner, which has been usual up to now, is approx. 3 to 8 µm. Such a roughness favors both the "clawing" and the "swirling" of the polymeric mass on the surface of the runner and thus causes additional harmful shear.
The shear caused by adhesion to the surface of the runner can also be reduced by a non-stick layer.
Surprisingly, non-stick layers made of siloxane or perfluorinated polyethylene with usual layer thicknesses of approx. 0.1 mm Room temperature a much lower adhesion than with the Processing temperature of the thermoplastic molding compound, so that the Coating cheap for demoulding, for filling the Formal nests appear unfavorable. However, through trials it was determined be that lower layer thicknesses of 500 to 100 nm a clear Show reduction in adhesion even at filling temperature. For one Minimization of adhesion are therefore with siloxane and perfluorinated Polyethylene layer thicknesses from 100 to 500 nm to choose. At Diamond layers have proven themselves to be about 100 nm thick.
diesem Geschwindigkeitsbereich zugrundeliegende Einspritzdruck liegt in
bestimmt:
The optimization of the values for the injection speed or the injection pressures can only be achieved empirically. The usual injection speeds are in the range of v = 0.05 to 20 m / s. The injection pressure on which this speed range is based lies in the pressure range from p = 10 to 800 bar. It can be assumed that with the low injection speed there is certainly a laminar flow, but with the high injection speed a turbulent flow. At which injection speed the desired laminar flow changes into the harmful turbulent flow is largely determined by the following parameters:
- - Molekulargewicht des Polymeren- Molecular weight of the polymer
- - Temperatur der Spritzgießmasse- Temperature of the injection molding compound
- - Strukturviskosität der Schmelze - Structural viscosity of the melt
- - Schergeschwindigkeitsgefälle in der Schmelze- Shear rate gradient in the melt
- - Kompressibilität der Schmelze- compressibility of the melt
- - Viskoelastisches Verhalten der Schmelze- Viscoelastic behavior of the melt
- - Querschnitt und Oberflächenbeschaffenheit des Angußkanals und der Anbindung- Cross section and surface condition of the sprue and the Connection
- - Anzahl und Art der Umlenkungen auf dem Weg von der Düse bis zum Formnest- Number and type of deflections on the way from the nozzle to the Form nest
- - Temperaturverlauf der Schmelze auf dem Weg von der Düse bis zum Formnest- Temperature curve of the melt on the way from the nozzle to the Form nest
- - Volumen-/Oberflächenverhältnis des Spritzgießlinges- Volume / surface area ratio of the injection molded part
- - Rand-/Mittendicken-Verhältnis des Spritzgießlinges.- Edge / center thickness ratio of the injection molded part.
Für präzisionsmechanische Teile gilt: Maximal zulässiger Gangunterschied Γzul ≦ λ/4 ≦ 136 nm.Taking into account and adhering to all optimization parameters already explained to avoid the spray skin, the flow orientation, the compensation of the volume shrinkage, the minimization of the shear and the reduction of the adhesion, mold filling tests with injection speeds and graded in 0.5 m / s intervals are to determine the optimal injection speed carry out only 1/3 of the mold cavity. The temperature program must be set according to a complete filling of the mold cavity. The test criterion is the polarization-optically measured path difference in the sprue area of the test injection molded part. Maximum retardation Γ permissible ≦ 20 nm for precision mechanical parts applies: for precision optical parts is considered. Maximum retardation Γ permissible ≦ λ / 4 ≦ 136 nm.
The optimal injection speed for the complete filling of the Formnestes is the one that is 0.5 m / s below the test Injection molding determined injection speed with the permissible Path difference is.
Dabei zeigen The invention is illustrated schematically in the drawing illustrated embodiment described. Show

Fig. 2a-2d Querschnitte durch verschiedene Formstempel. Fig. 2a-2d cross sections through different form stamps.
The injection mold 1 consists of an upper mold part 2 and a lower mold part 3 , into each of which two upper mold punches 4 , 5 and lower mold punches 6 , 7 are inserted. The head parts 8 , 9 of the upper die 4 , 5 and the head parts 10 , 11 of the lower die 6 , 7 are positively held in the upper mold part 2 and in the lower mold part 3 , respectively. In the exemplary embodiment, this area is designed as an interchangeable insert 12 , 13 and 14 , 15 , which is in positive contact with the upper mold part 2 and lower mold part 3 , as well as the mold stamps 4 , 5 ; 6 , 7 stands. In the inserts 12 , 13 ; 14 , 15 , a sprue 16 , 17, which is preferably round in cross section, is incorporated in each case. As material for the inserts 12 , 13 ; 14 , 15 , a brass bronze is preferably provided, in which the stamping shafts made of steel can slide with good emergency running properties.
The upper mold part 2 and lower mold part 3 each have base plates 18 , 19 , to which the foot parts of the upper mold dies 4 , 5 and the lower mold dies 6 , 7 are fastened. The upper mold part 2 is slidably mounted perpendicular to the base plate 18 . As a result, the upper mold part 2 and the lower mold part 3 can be detached from one another along a separating surface 20 . In order to achieve a mutually centered contact of the upper mold part 2 and the lower mold part 3 to one another, the interchangeable inserts 12 , 13 ; 14 , 15 provided on their contact surfaces with centering edges 21 , 22 . Since the sprue channels 16 , 17 lie in the separating surface 20 , they can be processed well in terms of their shape, shape and surface quality.
The interchangeable inserts 12 , 13 ; 14 , 15 and the top surfaces of the upper mold punches 4 , 5 and lower mold punches 5 , 6 form mold cavities 23 , 24 , which are connected to the sprue channels 16 , 17 via connections 25 , 26 , preferably with a rectangular cross section. Plasticized plastic compound is injected into the runner channels 16 , 17 via a nozzle 27 from a feed channel 28 . The feed channel 28 can be kept at the temperature required for this via a heating band 29 . The device for filling and processing the plastic granules and the pressure cylinder are not shown. They correspond to conventional technology.
The upper mold part 2 and the lower mold part 3 are provided with temperature control channels 30 , 31 , which are each shown as open circles in the cross-sectional view. The channels 30 , 31 can be combined into a self-contained system. However, it is advantageous to design them as separate systems, which can optionally also be controlled separately in terms of temperature. The channel system is laid out so that the inserts 12 , 13 ; 14 , 15 with the sprue channels 16 , 17 and the connections 25 , 26 is possible.
Tempering channels 32 , 33 are also incorporated along the longitudinal axis of the upper die 4 , 5 and lower die 6 , 7, which are supplied via associated supply channels in the base plates 18 , 19 . Within the form stamp 4 , 5 ; 6 , 7 , the temperature control channels are formed by separating plates 34 , 35 in a bore. The temperature control element is deflected in the head part of the die. The direction of flow of the temperature control means in the head part, indicated by arrows, can be controlled relative to the direction of flow of the plastic compound injected into the mold cavities 23 , 24 via the alignment of the separating plates 34 , 35 and the inflow or outflow. Here, too, the channels 32 , 33 can be combined into a self-contained system. However, it is also advantageous for a separate temperature control system to be formed for each form stamp, and separate channel systems can even be provided for the upper form stamp and the lower form stamp.
Each form stamp can on its outer surface with an additional, for. B. with current heated, temperature control device 36 , 37 , 38 , 39 may be provided. In the case of a self-contained temperature control duct system 32 , 33, it is possible in this way to individually influence the temperature on each of the shaping dies 4 , 5 ; 6 , 7 can be realized. This is particularly advantageous during the heating process in order to be able to reach the same temperature between the mold cavity and the connection area as quickly as possible after removal from the mold.
The tempering agent preparation, the associated pumps, mixers and Connections to the injection mold are not shown because they are more conventional Correspond to technology.
The base plates 18 , 19 and the elements of the upper mold part 2 and the lower mold part 3 provided with the temperature control channels 30 , 31 are made of steel. For inserts 12 , 13 ; 14 , 15 , a bronze alloy can be provided which, in addition to good thermal conductivity, has good emergency running properties for the shaping stamps used. The dimensioning of the elements of the upper mold part 2 and the lower mold part 3 is chosen with the aim of reducing the mass so that the injection mold is not deformed during injection molding and sufficient temperature control of all components is ensured.
The diameters of the shafts of the shaping stamp can be chosen that there is a head surface for a maximum diameter of Injection molded parts. In connection with adapted Inserts can then also be used with head parts for injection molded parts with a smaller diameter can be inserted into the injection mold. A basic body of the injection mold can be used in this way with a large number different form stamps / inserts combinations. In particular, there are also stamps for precision mechanical components applicable.
The head surface of the die 4 , 5 ; 6 , 7 must be manufactured with special care, since it determines the geometric shape of the surface of the injection molded part. Various methods are known for this.
In Fig. 2a, a punch 6 is shown, which is made of steel. The shaft is drilled to the limit of the required mechanical stability. Instead of the temperature control channels shown in FIG . B. a spirally wound flow tube with wall contact can be used. A rib-shaped thickening 40 is provided on the head side in the central region. The temperature transition resistance is changed at this point compared to the surface edge areas. The top surface of the die is covered with a glass enamel layer 41 . An anti-adhesive layer can also be applied in the same way.
FIG. 2b shows a similar molding die in which the head face, however, a glass-ceramic cap 42 is placed. The cap is held with clips 43 engaging the shaft. The surface of the glass ceramic cap 42 can be brought to the desired shape using conventional optical processing methods, such as grinding and polishing.
Fig. 2c shows a forming die, wherein a mold part is worked 44 having a particularly good thermal conductivity in the head part. For this purpose, a cavity corresponding to the molded part 44 , e.g. B. by spark erosion, incorporated into the head part and then the molded part is pressed. The molded part 44 then has direct contact with the temperature control medium flowing through the longitudinal bore, as shown in FIG. 1. However, the molded part can also be made as a separate component and inserted into the stamp from the top. The top surface can then be provided with a uniform coating. The design of the molded part is chosen so that there are different thicknesses and thus different temperature conductivities from the top surface of the die to the temperature control agent. These are adapted to the temperature flow out of the mold cavity in order to achieve the most homogeneous possible temperature flow.
In Fig. 2d, the head part is provided with a cavity 45 which can be flushed through by the temperature control agent. The cavity can be expanded by spark erosion almost over the entire rear surface of the head of the die pointing towards the mold cavity, as long as the mechanical strength of the die is not impaired. By appropriately controlling the temperature of the temperature control medium, the required temperature can be built up very quickly in the mold cavity.
It is essential to avoid a shock-like cooling of the plasticized plastic mass on the head part of the die. The Shaped stamps should be designed so that the Temperature difference to the injected plastic mass as small as possible and then the temperature depending on the temperature flow the injection molding can be regulated out.
The top surface of the stamp 6 made of steel can, for. B. can be chemically nickel-plated, the layer thickness being approximately 5 mm. Such a layer is very homogeneous. A maximum surface roughness of 5 to 10 nm can be achieved by diamond turning.
