Abstract
Description
The threat to the soldier from chemical warfare agents continues today still a current topic, especially since its production is not complicated technology. Their use can be particularly tempting if the opponent does not have sufficient protection. Since many Warfare agents not only through the respiratory tract, but also through the skin protection is required in addition to the respirator suit that protects the whole body. Because protective suits for hours or even have to be worn for days, is the removal of body moisture activity indispensable.
This gave rise to the development of breathable protective suits. A sol The protective suit always has a filter layer based on activated carbon, which Filter out warfare agents from the air entering the suit. Since the Ak activated carbon should only adsorb vapors, but no liquids - the latter would which saturate the coal locally - must have droplets of warfare agents through a oil-repellent outer layer can be kept away from the adsorption layer. Oil-repellent layer and filter layer must be supple and flexible to be processed into a suit.
There are several options for the filter layer today. So describes at for example, GB 1.173.143 a thin fleece with a slurry is sprayed from finely ground activated carbon in a binder dispersion, so that the fibers are coated with a carbon-containing layer. The de 2,843,974 describes a 1.5-2 mm thick, open-pore polyurethane foam, which also has a carbonaceous slurry of fine ver ground coal is coated in a binder dispersion. In both versions It is very finely ground coal (average particle size 10 µm), but their adsorption kinetics due to the all-encompassing binder is heavily braked. Furthermore, a maximum of 80 g coal / m² can be applied will. Both versions have the disadvantage that the activated carbon in the bin which is embedded so that the warfare agents first pass through the binder must migrate, which of course very disturbs the adsorption kinetics. Dissolved in the binder Most warfare agents can also be heated (sun exposure) desorb again.
The fil described in DE 29 51 827 represents a significant advance layer. Here is an air-permeable, textile carrier material with a Adhesive mass applied at a point and with a granular or spherical carbon (average diameter 0.5 mm) sprinkled. Perform special procedures under each coal particle to small support bases, which the accessibility of the Improve activated carbon. The main difference to the two The filter material described first is that the adsorbent is only one small part (15-20%) is covered with glue and therefore the disadvantages of this Filters are avoided. In addition, because of the high coal coverage (up to 200 g / m²) the adsorption capacity much higher.
A further improvement of the filter material described last is in the DE 33 04 349 described. By using a masked, prepolyme Ren diisocyanate as an adhesive, which is crosslinked with a diamine a particularly good adhesion of the beads to the substrate and the automati cal formation of "support bases" achieved because the adhesive system during cross-linking undergoes a pronounced viscosity minimum. This detention However, the system also has disadvantages, which are particularly evident in mi make it noticeable through the pores of coals. The split off during networking, masking component, butanone oxime, is largely used despite the high Temperature in the narrow micropores adsorbs and leads to loss of capacity up to 20% when it comes to substances that are difficult to adsorb, such as for example butane, in low concentration ranges.
It has now surprisingly been found that polyurethane isocyanate Prepolymers are excellent as an adhesive system for the activated carbon grains can turn and not have the disadvantages of DE 33 04 349 sen. The normal use of the adhesive of the invention is the coating of textiles for the production of shoes and bags material with a foamy structure that is reminiscent of the coagulation process. Crosslinking takes place even without exposure to heat from atmospheric moisture.
Beispiele). With an initial viscosity of approximately 19,000 Pa · s, the invention with a rotary printing stencil onto a textile Print substrate, forming hemispherical piles of adhesive which exclusively with adsorber grains, preferably with spherical ones Activated carbon (average diameter about 0.5 mm), which are sprinkled on this is immediately liable. The high initial stickiness causes the particles stay where they hit. Since both the activated carbon and the textile carrier et what contains moisture sets at the interfaces of the glue to coal or to the textile very quickly the crosslinking, which causes the adhesive not sacked into the textile and the activated carbon particles on the top of the Stay in piles and don't sag. In the further course of networking the pile of glue puffs up slightly, so that it is in the two before outgoing registrations described "support base" trains again. The Adhesion particles have excellent adhesion to the substrate. It became white ter found that the butane capacity of a microporous activated carbon on the Carrier material has not suffered in any way (see examples).
With the described method, a surface filter was produced, which NATO requirements met. When using 14 and 25 mesh sts Depending on the squeegee setting, blones will have adhesive pads between approx. 20 and 70 g / m², preferably 30-50 g / m², reached. The coal layer is each according to particle size and type of grains (spheres) 100-250 g / m², in extreme cases len 300 g / m². With double-sided occupancy, the quantities are accordingly higher.
Die Rütteldichte bewegt sich zwischen 400-650 g/l.The person skilled in the art has granular or very hard spherical activated carbons (the latter based on pitch), the inner surface of which 900-1,700 m² / g can vary. For the purpose of the invention, such 1,000-1,300 m² / g preferred. The vibration density moves between 400-650 g / l.
Spherical adsorbents caused by smoldering and Activation of certain ion exchangers can be obtained (DE 43 04 026 and DE 43 28 219). While starting from macroporous cation exchange styrene-based adsorbents which, in addition to micropores, receive many mesos pores in the range 100-300Å and these adsorbents with the übli activated carbon are comparable, are made from gel-like cations exchange by smoldering and activating spherical adsorbents with very pronounced micro-pore structure without significant amounts of larger pores obtained, which in some ways is reminiscent of carbon molecular sieves and are extremely suitable for the purpose of the invention.
The polymers known under the name Sorbathene from DOW Chemical Cy Radsorber are described in DE 42 05 648. You are because of them own desorbability. They allow quick decontamina tried protective suits.
Pellets made from moisture-insensitive zeolites are also suitable. However, they have not yet been used for price reasons.
For special tasks it can be advantageous to have a very open porter, for example a knitted fabric, preferably a warp chair fabric, on both sides to prove. In this case, the goods are not printed, but with the detention mass squeezed and coated on both sides. There are runs of up to 500 g Adsorbent / m² possible.
The adhesive of the invention facilitates the manufacturing process pregnant because no heat treatment is necessary. The networking is, however faster if you add moisture and the material to 60-70 ° C warms, which allows immediate winding.
A cotton fabric with a weight per unit area of approx. 100 g / m² was printed on using a 25 mesh stencil with 42% passage with Levacast adduct 43131 from Bayer AG (overlay 39 g / m²) and immediately afterwards with a spherical carbon with an average diameter of 0.45 mm sprinkled. The printed adhesive piles were hemispherical and had a diameter of approx. 0.5 mm. The spherical carbon had been produced by carbonization and activation of a gel-type cation exchanger, had an inner surface area of 1,100 m 2 / g and a vibrating density of 0.72 g / cm 3. It was an extremely microporous coal with very few mesopores and macropores. After the coal had been sprinkled on, the excess was suctioned off and the web was slightly steamed in a drying tunnel at 60 ° C. After a dwell time of 50 s, the material web was left to stand for 3 days in the wound-up state for post-condensation. The dynamic butane adsorption was determined at a concentration of 76 ppm at 25 ° C and a flow rate of 0.6 m through 3 layers of the surface filter by recording the entire breakthrough curve. The butane capacity was 53 mg / g coal. The same coal was then examined in bulk between two porous tissues under the same conditions. A value of 51.5 g butane / g coal was found. These two values could be considered the same.
The same cotton fabric was then based on an adhesive system a masked isocyanate that has been cross-linked with a diamine and sprinkled with the same spherical carbon as in Example 1. The adhesive system was cured at 160 ° C. The butane capacity was measured on 3 layers of the area chenfilter determined. It was 39.5 mg / g coal, which is a capacity ver lust corresponds to almost 25%.
The procedure was as in Example 1, with the difference that spherical ge, polymeric adsorbents (sorbathenes from DOW Germany) used were. It was only the adhesion of the beads when used of the new adhesive system. The liability was excellent.
In analogy to Example 3, the adhesion of approximately 1.2 mm large particles investigated from agglomerated, moisture-insensitive molecular sieves. The adhesion was also very good with these adsorbents.
