Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Apparat zum Destillieren von Kohle, Kohlenschiefer, Ligniten, Torf u. dgl. zwecks Gewinnung von schweren .ölen, Paraffin und anderen Produkten, und zwar jener Art, bei welcher die Rohmaterialien in kleineren Mengen auf in einem Gehäuse übereinander oder versetzt zueinander angeordnete Tröge verteilt sind. Die Erfindung besteht im wesentliehen darin, daß das die Tröge enthaltende Gehäuse an einer mit Hebevorrichtung versehenen Laufkatze mittels Hakenstangen aufgehängt ist, welche sich durch einen im oberen Teil des Apparates vorgesehenen, vorn offenen und während des Betriebes verschließbaren Längsschlitz hindurch erstrecken.
