Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung von weitgehend bekannten bicyclisch substituierten Harnstoffen als insekten- und
milbenabweisende Wirkstoffe.
Es ist bereits bekannt geworden, daß man Dirnethylphthalat
und insbesondere m-Toluylsäure-N,N-diäthylamid als Repellents gegen Insekten verwenden kann. Die Verbindungen haben in der Praxis
bereits eine erhebliche Bedeutung erlangt. Sie besitzen eine Repellentwirkung, die mehrere Stunden anhält.
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß die weitgehend bekannten bicyclisch substituierten Harnstoffe der Formel

starke insekten- und milbenabweisende Eigenschaften aufweisen.
Es ist als ausgesprochen überraschend zu bezeichnen, daß die
erfindungsgemäß zu verwendenden Wirkstoffe eine erheblich höhere Repellentwirkung auf Insekten und Milben haben als die aus dem
Stand der Technik bekannten Insektenrepellents. Die erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe stellen somit eine wertvolle Bereicherung
der Technik dar.
Die erfindungsgemäß zu verwendenden Stoffe sind durch die obige Formel (i) eindeutig charakterisiert. In dieser Brmel steht R'
vorzugsweise für Wasserstoff und Alkyl mit 1-4 C-Atomen und R" für Wasserstoff, Alkyl mit 1-4 C-Atomen, Alkenyl und Alkinyl mit
2-4 C-Atomen sowie für Alkoxyl mit 1 - 3 C-Atomen. R'" steht

Die erfindungsgemäßen stoffe gemäß Formel (I) sind zum Teil
bekannt und können nach einer Vielzahl von bekannten Verfahren hergestellt werden (vgl. DBP 1 o8l 453).
So kann die Herstellung dieser Verbindungen erfolgen, indem man
(1) bicyclisch substituierte Isocyanate, Carbaminsäurechloride
oder Carbaminsäureester mit Aminen umsetzt oder
(2) bicyclisch substituierte Amine mit Carbaminsäurechloriden oder Isocyanaten umsetzt.
Von den zur Umsetzung geeigneten bicyclisch substituierten Aminen,
die z.B. aus Dienadduktenoder aber auch z.T. aus Naturstoffen
leicht zugänglich sind, selen beispielsweise folgende genannt; 2-Bicyclo-/?, 2, l7-heptylamin, 2-Bicyclo-/5, 2,jL7-hepty !methylamine
1- und 2-(2-Bicyclo-/2,2,l7-heptyl)-äthylamin, Fenchylamin» Brrr.yi amin,
Isobornylamin, 2-Amino-isocamphan, N-Methylbomylamin,
(2-Methyl-bicyclo-/§,2,l7-heptyl-2)-methylamin. Weiter findet
als bicyclisch substituiertes Amin das durch katalytische Hydrier ^r
von Abietinsäurenitril erhaltene Amin Verwendung.
Bicyclisch substituierte Isocyanate können aus den primären Aminen J.n bekannter Weise (DBP 1 o8l 453) durch Phosgenierung
oder durch Diensynthese gemäß DBP 1 156 79? herges >ellt
werden.
Bicyclisch substituierte Carbaminsäureester werden aus den
entsprechenden Aminen durch Umsetzung mit Chlorameisensäureestera oder in speziellen Fällen durch Anlagerung von

an define (DAS 1 157 598) hergestellt. Als Beispiele für die Amine
seien genannt: Methylamin, Dlmethylamin, Methyläthylamin, Diäthylamln, Isopropylamin, n-Butylamin, Isobutylamin, tert. Butylamln,
Dl-n-butylamin, Methylbutylamin, Diallylamin, Di-n-propylamin, Methylbutylamin, Dilsobutylamin, N,0-Dimethyl-hydroxylamin,
N,0-Diäthyl-hydroxylamin.
Die zur Umsetzung mit den bicyclisch substituierten Aminen verwendeten Carbaminsäurechloride leiten sich von den aufgeführten
einfachen Aminen ab und können aus diesen, beispielsweise durch Umsetzung mit Phosgen, hergestellt werden.
Die Umsetzung der bicyclisch substituierten Isocyanate mit den Aminen kann in Abwesenheit oder in Gegenwart von Verdünnungsmittel
durchgeführt werden, wie Wasser, Alkohole, Ester, Ketone und aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe.
Zur Beschleunigung des Reaktinsablaufes können tert. Amine, wie Trimethylamin, zugesetzt werden.

Die Umsetzung wird in üblicher Weise durchgeführt, z.B. in
äqulmolaren Mengen oder unter Verwendung eines Überschusses des technisch einfacher zugänglichen Amins.

Werden Carbaminsäurechloride mit Aminen umgesetzt, so werden zweckmäöigerweise Lösungsmittel wie aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe,
Xther, Ketone, Ester, und Säurebinder wie Triäthylamin, Pyridin, Natriumcarbonat oder Natriumhydroxyd zugegeben. Die
Reaktionstemperaturen liegen bei dieser Verfahrensweise zwischen 0 und 100°.
Bei der Umsetzung von bicyclisch substituierten Carbaminsäureestern
nit Aminen arbeitet man vorzugsweise in Lösungsmitteln
wie Alkoholen, Xthern oder aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen. Die
Reaktionstemperatüren können in einem gröieren Bereich variieren.
Im allgemeinen arbeitet nan zwischen 100 und 250°, vorzugsweise zwischen 15o und 23o °. Man verwendet äqulmolare Mengen der
Reaktionskomponenten oder einen Überschuß des technisch einfacher zugänglichen Amins. Zur Beschleunigung der Umsetzung können
basische Katalysatoren wie Natriumcarbonat oder Kaliumcarbonat zugesetzt werden.
Nachfolgend soll die Herstellung eines der erfindungsgemäß
zu verwendenden- Wirkstoffe näher beschrieben werden:
N-Isobornyl-N',N*-dimethylharnstoff
Zu einer Lösung von %3o g Urethan und 2oo ecm BF,-Ätherat in
4oo ecm wasserfreiem ^enzol wird 8 Stunden unter N2 bei 7o° eine
Lösung von 544 g Camphen in 3oo ecm wasserfreiem Benzol zugetropft.

punctatum), der Brotkäfer (Anobium paniceum), der Speckkäfer (Dermestes lardarius), der Mehlkäfer (Tenebrio molitor) und
Termiten, wie Re,ticulitermes lucifugusj Ameisen, wie Lasius. niger
Zu den Milben gehören Zecken, wie Ornithodoros moubata, Boophlluj
microphus und Amblyomma hebraeum und Milben im engeren Sinne, wie Dermanyssus gallinae, Sarcoptes scablei.

Die erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe können in unverdünnter oder formulierter Form zur Anwendung gelangen. Als Formulierungen
eignen sich Lösungen, Emulsionen, Suspensionen, Pulver, Pasten, Salben, öle, Lacke, Sprays. Diese werden in bekannter Weise
hergestellt, z.B. durch Verstrecken der Wirkstoffe mit Lösungsmitteln und/oder TrKgerstoffen, gegebenenfalls unter Verwendung
von Emulgiermitteln und/oder Dispergiermitteln, wobei z.B.
. im Falle der Benutzung von Wasser als Verdünnungsmittel gegebenenfalls organische Lösungsmittel als Hilfslösungsmlttel
verwendet werden können (vgl. Agricultural Chemicals, März i960, S. 35 - 38). Als Hilfsstoffe kommen im wesentlichen in Frage:
Lösungsmittel, wie Aromaten (z.B. Xylol, Benzol), chlorierte Aromaten (z.B. Chlorbenzole) Paraffine (z.B. Erdölfranktionen),
Alkohole (z.B. Äthanol, Isopropylalkohol), tierische und pflanzliche Fette (z.B. Lanolin, Olivenöl, Nußöl), Amine und
Amlnderlvate (z.B. Ethanolamin, Dimethylformamid) und Wasser;
Trägerstoffe, wie natürliche Gesteinsmehle (z.B. hochdisperse
) .Kieselsäure, Silikate), Emulgiermittel, wie nlchtionogene und
anionische Emulgatoren (z.B. Polyoxyäthylen-fettsäure-ester,
Polyoxy-äthylen-fettalkohol-äther, Alkylsulfonate und Arylaulfonate) und Dispergiermittel, wie Lignin und Methylcellulose.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe können in den Formulierungen miteinander gemischt oder auch in Mischung mit anderen bekannten
Wirkstoffen vorliegen. Sie können auch als Rohprodukte eingesetzt ■ werden.

Die Formulierungen enthalten Im allgemeinen zwischen 0,1 und
95 Gewichtsprozent Wirkstoff, vorzugsweise zwischen 0,5 und 9o.
Zum Schutz gegen blutsaugende Insekten oder Milbe» werden die
erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe entweder auf die menschliche
oder tierische Haut aufgebracht oder Kleidungsstücke oder andere Gegenstände damit imprägniert. Zur Abwehr gegen Tiahruugs- oder
Materialschädlinge werden die zu schützenden Stoffe entweder direkt mit ihnen behandelt oder die Mittel were? ^, um <i3* ?x\
schützenden Stoffe herum angewendet und so Sperrzonen gegen
das Eindringen der Schädlinge geschaffen.

Zur Herstellung einer zweckmäö^en Wirkstoffzubereitung
vermischt man 5 Gewichtsteile Wirkstoff mit 100 Volumenteilen Lösungsmittel.
Meerschweinchen werden die Haare suf einer RUckenflache von

50 cm abrasiert. 0,4 cnr der Wirkstoffzubereitung werden
auf dieser Ausrasierten Fläche gleichmäßig verteilt. Danach
werden die Tiere In enge Käfige aus feinem Maschendraht gebracht,
der die ausrasierte RUckenflache freiläßt. In diesen
Drahtkäfig werden die Meerschweinchen 1.Ö Minuten lang in
größere Käfige gesetzt, in denen, mehrere tausend stechlumtlge
Müokan fr»i herumfliegen, Es wird beobachtet, ob die Mücken
die Meerschweinchen an der behandelten Stelle stechen. Das Einsetzen aer Meerschweinchenkäfige viru stündlich wiederholt.
Die Repeilsntwlrkiuig gilt alß besaitet, wenn das Meerschweinchen
während der Becbachtungszeit von mehc al? sirier Mücke gestochen
wird.
