Description
The invention relates to a method for deformation hardening of cobalt-nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys, consisting of 7 to 16% molybdenum, 13 to 25% chromium, 5 to 40% nickel up to 2% each, up to 4% in total, manganese, titanium, aluminum and / or Zirconium, up to 6%, preferably 1 to 5%, copper, the balance 25% or more cobalt with the usual manufacturing-related impurities, including up to 0.5% silicon and up to 0.02% hydrogen, sulfur and phosphorus, with the proviso that up to 6% of the sum of the nickel and cobalt contents is due to iron can be replaced and that the quotient of the sum of the cobalt and nickel contents divided by the chromium content is 2.5 and more.
Such a method is - at least with regard to the content of required components of the treated alloy - from US-PS 28 41 511 known. However, the cited patent does not indicate that the quotient of the sum of Cobalt plus nickel divided by the chromium content must be at least 2.5 to achieve the desired goal to reach.
In this known method, an improved fatigue behavior and an improved wear resistance at higher temperatures are achieved in that a stable equilibrium between two allotropic cobalt modifications is brought about in the material structure. In order to bring about a balance between the face-centered cubic cobalt modification and the most densely packed hexagonal cobalt modification, in the known method the alloy is kept at a temperature after casting which is in the range of the operating temperatures later expected for the material. The alloy is then subjected to permanent hot deformation, which takes place at temperatures of 750 to 870 ° C., with about 35% deformation being carried out under heat. To successfully carry out this known method, however, it is necessary that the alloy to be treated contains relatively high carbon contents of more than 0.6%, since only such high carbon contents can reduce the cooling rate of the alloy so that the alloy continues to hold the casting at a temperature in the range of the expected operating temperatures is guaranteed over a sufficiently long period of time.
However, this known method is disadvantageous in that the alloys treated in this way have a pronounced tendency to become brittle due to their high carbon content. Moreover, it is regarded as disadvantageous that the required for the partial conversion of the face-centered cubic modification in the hexagonal close-packed modification permanent deformation in the known process carried out in the heat and in particular at temperatures of 750 to 87O 0 C with a reduction ratio of about 35% because heat treatments in the specified temperature range have an unfavorable effect on the desired structural influence.
From GB-PS 6 47 819 an alloy is known, soft from 20 to 50% cobalt, 15 to 30% chromium, 5 to 31% nickel, up to 18% iron, with the proviso that the sum of the iron and nickel contents is not less than 20%, up to 3% manganese, up to 0.3% carbon, 0.01 to 0.09% beryllium and 3 to 10% molybdenum. In order to harden the structure of this known alloy, the above-mentioned British patent is used the structural hardening, which is essentially based on beryllium, by means of a cold forming process Solution heat treatment and precipitation hardening following cold working. The Precipitation hardening caused by an aging treatment at 482 ° C for several hours.
As known to those skilled in the art, the precipitation hardening is based on the fact that a chemically different phases from the matrix material into the matrix stress states in the structure which are the cause of the desired precipitation hardening. In contrast to this one Precipitation hardening based on the chemical differences between the precipitation phase and the matrix phase is based, a deformation hardening or solidification is understood to be a process in which chemically similar phases involved in the form of two simultaneously present allotropic modifications where a partial transition from one modification to the other is the cause of the deformation hardening achieved.
The invention is based on the object of creating a method of the type mentioned at the beginning, which enables the production of cobalt alloys with extremely good high temperature properties, great Toughness and excellent corrosion resistance.
Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst,According to the invention, this object is achieved by

The technical progress that can be achieved with the aid of the invention is compared with that from US Pat. No. 2,841,511 known processes can be seen in the fact that now also extremely low-carbon cobalt alloys can be subjected to deformation hardening, which is simpler and less time consuming can be than the known and on top of that leads to far better results. There are those with The improved material properties that can be achieved with the aid of the method according to the invention are primarily the Consequence of the specially coordinated content ranges of the alloy and those according to the invention deformation to be carried out in the temperature range based on the cobalt modifications.
Cobalt, nickel, molybdenum and chromium are preferred for carrying out the method according to the invention melted together at a temperature of 1260 to 1815 ° C so that the melt achieved the specified ranges of composition is sufficient.
Shaped workpieces are produced from the melt, these are cooled and then combined in one machined to such an extent that the cross-section is reduced by at least 5, preferably 10 to 80%, while the workpiece is at a temperature below the upper temperature of the Conversion range is. Preference is given to treating alloys in which the percentages of Nickel, cobalt and chromium are related in such a way that the sum of the percentages of nickel and cobalt divided by the percentage of chromium gives a value greater than 2.6. However, this can Value can also be 2.5 if elements such as manganese, aluminum, titanium, zirconium, copper and / or iron are included. It is also beneficial if the total content of the alloy is carbon, boron, Oxygen, nitrogen and beryllium does not exceed 0.1%. The conversion range specified here refers to a temperature range above which a face-centered cubic crystal lattice of the cobalt alloy is stable. Below the upper temperature of this range, the face-centered cubic tends to Lattice when voltage is applied to merge into the hexagonal close-packed lattice. the The method for determining this area is described in more detail below.
The product obtained by the process according to the invention is an alloy of cobalt, nickel, Molybdenum and chromium in the given proportions and essentially consists of two phases: one Base mass and at least 5 to 70% by volume and above, preferably 5 to 50% by volume, of a second Phase of fine platelets, whereby the phase of the matrix is a solid solution of the alloy components with face-centered cubic lattice and the platelets are a solid solution of the alloy constituents hexagonal close-packed lattice, with the platelets on the [lll] faces of the crystals Basic mass are distributed. The platelets each have a thickness of three atomic radii (about 4.15 A) up to one micron, preferably 0.002 to 0.1 micron, their width and length being 5 to 10,000 times greater than theirs Strength. The platelets are about 0.01 to 1 micron, preferably up to 0.5 micron apart. Many platelets are twins in their hexagonal close-packed lattice, with the main planes of sliding of the twins approximately at right angles to the main planes of the non-twins Areas run.
It is believed that the formation of the platelets caused by stress during deformation within the face-centered cubic lattice of the metastable phase of the matrix for the significant Improvements in the properties of the product according to the invention is responsible. More precisely, it has been found that a limit conversion region exists within and below which the cubic face-centered grids (which occur above this area) by the aforementioned processing into the Hexagonal close-packed grid can be transferred, which creates the strength.
The deformation products according to the invention show unusually high strength properties at room temperature. Specifically, its yield point at 0.2% elongation is at least 11,200 kp / cm 2 and reaches up to about 24,600 kp / cm 2 . Their constriction is at least 3% and can be up to 75%. It should be noted that the strength properties of the products manufactured by the process according to the invention are 3 to 4 times as high as the strength properties of castings made from this alloy. In addition, these products retain their strength properties to a substantial extent after exposure to temperatures of 650 ° C for 100 hours. Some of the products produced by the process of this invention retain these properties even after 100 hours at 760 0 C at.
These products are extremely useful at high temperature and as press dies for metals such as aluminum and brass. Especially hers The extrusion of red brass, which was previously impossible with conventional hot-worked tool steel molds. Moreover, these products are sufficiently tough (the minimum notched impact strength according to C h a r ρ y is 20.77 mkg) to be used as a head or Bridge injection mold to serve in the extrusion of aluminum where sharp corners and inadequate mandrels in bearings require a low notch sensitivity and bending without breaking. the Products manufactured according to the invention are resistant to thermal stress, oxidation and certain corrosive substances, such as alkaline and acidic solutions and are suitable as building elements, such as Carrier, die holder, extruder press chuck and extrusion die; as molds for hot forging and Shape; as hot metal scissors; Upsetting dies for hot forming in presses; and similar metal goods.
Man schmilzt die erforderlichen Mengen der Elemente in einem Ofen, der zumWhen carrying out the process according to the invention, preference is given to using commercially pure Elements. Since only minor changes in the relative proportions during processing of the essential elements take place, it is possible from the amounts sought in the final product Components to run out. The required quantities of the elements are melted in a furnace that is used for
Melting of alloys in the temperature range 1260-1815 ° C is determined and casts the resulting molten mass in molds or crucibles made of graphite, cast iron, copper or ceramic. The casting can be carried out in air, in a vacuum or in an inert atmosphere. Can be used to cast the shaped workpieces to use permanent molds and lost wax molds.
In a special process, the mixture of elements in one with magnesium oxide or Silica-lined open induction furnace melted and poured into cast iron molds. At the start the desired amounts of cobalt and nickel are melted and then molybdenum, chromium and optionally half the amount of silicon added. At this stage there is only such an amount Silicon, which is necessary for use as a deoxidizer. In vacuum melting it is It is not necessary to add silicon in this process stage. When using silicon as a deoxidizer the addition takes place just before the casting of the alloy mass. At that time you can other alloy additions are also made. Calcium silicon, ferrosilicon or ferromanganese can be added, to deoxidize the alloy, or you can use conventional blowhole powder to remove the porosity and To reduce voids in the cast workpieces to a minimum. One should have molybdenum and Add chromium in the form of the cheaper ferro-molybdenum and ferro-chromium alloys. However, the Total iron content, which can partially replace required nickel and cobalt, does not exceed 6%. More than 6% iron leads to a serious deterioration in the product properties, especially with regard to stress fracture and corrosion resistance to aqueous acids.
As mentioned earlier, the finished alloy should contain the following ingredients: 5 to 40% nickel, 7 to 16% molybdenum, 13 to 25% chromium and at least 25% cobalt. The one after deoxidation the remaining amount of silicon must not be more than 0.5%. The preferred alloy should be after Deoxidation contain a maximum of 0.1% silicon. The amounts of chromium, molybdenum and cobalt are for that desired end product is critical. Are the percentages of cobalt, chromium and / or molybdenum higher than that? Maximum values, the alloy becomes too brittle to be at temperatures within or below the transformation range to be edited. Are the percentages of molybdenum and / or chromium below the given minimum values, the alloy does not adequately respond to deformation hardening on. It should also be pointed out that the alloy does not contain more than 0.05% carbon, boron, oxygen, May contain nitrogen or beryllium, the total content of these components not being 0.1% may exceed. Amounts greater than this, especially carbon, generally cause Embrittlement.
The alloy must also contain no more than 0.02% hydrogen, sulfur and phosphorus. Manganese, Titanium, aluminum and zirconium must be limited to a maximum of 2% each and not more than 4% in total. In fact, the presence of elements such as manganese, aluminum, titanium or zircon gives up to the specified limits a certain additional hardening or solidification. The limit for copper is about 6%. At least about 1% copper and up to about 5% copper favor the processability by the Creation of a second phase at the grain boundary is eliminated. Larger amounts of these substances than that not only adversely affect the properties of the finished alloy, but also reduce them also the processability through mechanisms such as embrittlement, emergence of a second phase at the Grain boundary etc.
Die Pulver lassen sich weiter zerkleinern durch Vermählen in einer mit Stahl oder Tungstenkarbid ausgekleideten Anlage.ίο work pieces is that you get the mixture first premelted, then the resulting alloy is crushed to a powder and finally the powder in transferred the desired shaped workpiece. Premelting can include arc melting and induction melting include. One can atomize the molten mass to the finely divided alloy receive. The powders can be further crushed by grinding in a steel or tungsten carbide lined plant.
The powders obtained can easily be deformed by cold pressing in steel molds at pressures of about 1575-7870 kgf / cm 2. It is preferred to sinter the cold-pressed workpieces at temperatures of 982-1370 0 C for 15 minutes to 6 hours in the presence of an inert gas or hydrogen or in a vacuum oven. Can be the powders in graphite dies at 1090-1310 0 C by applying pressure of 70 kgf / cm 2 and pressing it.
After the workpieces have been shaped by casting, pressing or otherwise, they are formed by deformation hardened. The deformation hardening process involves reducing the cross section of the workpiece by 10-80% in the temperature range in which only the hexagonal close-packed phase or the cubic face-centered phase and the hexagonal close-packed phase coexist. To achieve the Reduction of the cross section one can use the usual metalworking techniques, such as forging, Die upsetting, extrusion, rolling, pipe reducing, embossing, drawing, pressing, blasting treatment and impact load. Die upsetting is a suitable method for deforming the workpieces. The die upsetting system can be a 30 horsepower two hammer machine, with each upsetting die one 12 to 20% reduction in cross-section generated.
Man versteht, daß es nicht immer möglich ist, bei allen Legierungen, die in den angegebenen Bereich fallen, den Querschnitt um bis zu 80% bei einer besonderen Temp., besonders denThe conversion range depends to a certain extent on the particular alloy and ranges from about 430 0 C to about 930 0 C. This shows that the deformation hardening, which must be carried out below the upper temperature of the conversion range, preferably below the conversion range, for the specified alloys can be safely carried out below 430 ° C. without departing from the scope of the method according to the invention. However, higher temperatures, which are still below the upper temperature of the transformation region, allow greater reductions in cross-section when a certain force is applied. It is therefore desirable to harden at higher temperatures. Indeed, machining can commence while the workpiece is still at a temperature above the transition zone and allowed to cool to at least 10% reduction in area at a temperature of the workpiece below the upper temperature of the transition zone. It is understood that it is not always possible for all alloys that fall within the specified range to reduce the cross section by up to 80% at a particular temperature, especially the
For this invention is deformation hardening by reducing the cross section by at least 10% is critical.
The figure shows as a graphic representation the conversion range against the cobalt content of an alloy with 20% chromium, 10% molybdenum, 0.5% silicon and the remainder nickel. The results, from which the points of the curves were obtained, are shown in Table A. The alloys were treated according to Examples 1 to 3. The conversion range was determined by X-ray diffraction. The alloys were deformed under severe conditions at 21 ° C and then heat-treated for 24 to 100 hours at temperatures between 370 and 1040 ° C. X-ray diffraction diagrams were recorded with filtered CW6x radiation before and after each heat treatment. The ratio of the intensity of the [101] line of the hexagonal close-packed grating to the [200] line of the face-centered cubic grating was determined from the diffraction images. An increase in the ratio Ir indicates the increase in the hexagonal close-packed phase at the expense of the face-centered cubic phase, while a decrease in the ratio / r indicates the increase in the face-centered cubic phase at the expense of the hexagonal close-packed phase. If the symbols HCPm appear near a point in a particular alloy in the figure, they indicate that the intensity ratio increases during the heat treatment at the specified temperature (ie the phase of the hexagonal close-packed lattice is the stable phase). As the FCC (face centered cubic lattice) symbols approach a point on the particular alloy, they indicate that the intensity ratio is approaching 0 during heat treatment at the specified temperature (ie, the phase of the face centered cubic lattice is the stable phase). The symbols HCP + FCC near a point indicate that the intensity ratio remains essentially constant during the heat treatment (ie that both the kfc phase and the HCP phase are stable).
The values in Table A show that the 0.2 limit of alloys processed at temperatures near or below the transformation range increases to over 11 200 kg / cm 2 and is then about 4 times as large as the 0, 2 limit of alloys in the as-cast state. The coded numerical points in Table A are plotted in the diagram at their corresponding deformation temperatures. In controlled machining tests at elevated temperatures, the temperature of bars with an initial diameter of 1.016 cm was measured before and after die upsetting. The deformation temperature (Td) is defined as the arithmetic mean of the temperature before and after die upsetting.

As already mentioned, the alloy produced according to the invention consists essentially of two Phases, a phase of the matrix with a face-centered cubic lattice and from 5 to 70% by volume of one second phase of fine platelets with hexagonal close-packed lattice, the second phase on the [lll] planes of the crystals of the phase of the matrix is distributed. To the presence of these phases, theirs To determine quantities and their location, one can use the relevant known techniques described in Transmission Electron Microscopy of Metals, G. Thomas, (1962) John Wiley, New York are. So you can look at the usual analysis of X-ray diffraction patterns for alloys with up to about 20% nickel, or using electron-optical methods, the samples being very thin must to allow passage of the electron beam through the samples.
In the case of alloys with more than 45% cobalt, the stress-induced formation of hexagonal close-packed platelets can be seen at room temperature. monitor using standard x-ray diffraction techniques. The ratio Ir of the intensity of the [101] line of the hexagonal close-packed lattice to that of the [200] line of the face-centered cubic lattice is a quantitative measure of the amount of hexagonal close-packed phase formed in a deformed alloy. The values in Table B show that the increase in a 0.2 limit of an alloy during deformation at room temperature is accompanied by a sharp increase in the amount of hexagonal close-packed phase formed, as expressed by the intensity ratio Ir . The intensities for calculating the values for Ir given in Table B were determined from X-ray diffraction images which were assumed with filtered CrKa radiation.
Sei. Inst. 32,411,1961, durchstrahlen zu können. For alloys with less than about 45% cobalt, the presence of hexagonal became more close-packed Phase determined using the highly sensitive techniques of electron microscopy and electron diffraction. These techniques can be used to determine the stress-induced formation in all alloys produced according to the invention. The samples were electrolytically etched to help them an electron beam emerging from a window according to G. Thomas (pp. 153-155 of his book) or according to the "jet cupping" method of P. R. S t r u 11, Res. Sci. Inst. 32,411,1961.

Inside of grains taken up under severe conditions of deformed alloys. The electron diffraction patterns consisted of the superposition of single crystal diffraction patterns of cubic area-centered ones Grains and the single crystal diffraction patterns of the hexagonal close-packed platelets on one or more of the four sets of (III) planes of the face-centered cubic grain. The diffraction spectra also indicated the presence of twin lamellae within many hexagonal close-packed platelets, the main gliding planes of the twins being approximately at right angles to the main gliding planes of the not as Twins form present areas.
Die Probe (Meßlänge : Durchmesser = 4 :1) hatte folgende mechanische Eigenschaften:Measurements of the thickness of the hexagonal close-packed platelets and the mean distance between the Platelets were obtained with the aid of electron microscope photographs. The percent volume caused by tension The conversion of the hexagonal close-packed phase induced was determined by area analysis of the Electron microscope images determined. For example, an alloy with 34.5% cobalt, 35% Nickel, 2% chromium, 10% molybdenum and 0.5% silicon at room temperature. 80% rolled. Area analyzes of Electron micrographs of a sample of this alloy showed the presence of about 30% by volume hexagonal close-packed phases. The average thickness of the hexagonal close-packed platelets was 300 angstrom units, the mean distance between the plates 1400 angstrom units. The sample (measuring length : Diameter = 4: 1) had the following mechanical properties:

A load of 24.9 kg with 49.5% cobalt, 10% molybdenum, 20% chromium, 0.5% silicon, 20% nickel was melted in an open coal arc furnace (with acid furnace lining) and placed in a cast iron mold 10x10 cm with a taper to 6.35 χ 6.35 cm poured at the bottom and a length of 22.9 cm, which had a sand caster about 10 cm high. First cobalt and nickel were melted and chromium,
Before the metal directly into the mold was poured, the remainder of the silicon was added. The casting temperature was 1640 ° C. The chemical analysis showed that the content of cobalt, nickel, molybdenum and chromium by at most 2% from the added amount differed. The finished alloy contained 0.3% silicon. The ingot was sufficient cold to be removed from the mold after half an hour and was then quenched with water.
Length was machined from the bottom of the ingot using standard hard metal tools for interrupted machining and this pressed in a 360-ton press at a temperature of 1260 ° C and a reduction ratio of 8: 1. Quartz glass was used as a lubricant. The staff grew wider homogenized by 1 hour heat treatment at 1200 ° C. After that, the rod was swaged by swaging deformed by 60%. The upsetting machine used was one with two hammers and one drive power of 30 hp. The deformed rod was quenched with water after leaving the upsetting machine. When determining the grain size, the grain size in the homogenized rod was obtained according to 10 up to 8 ASTM numbers.
The deformation hardening of the workpiece was then carried out by heating the ground rods from 15.24 cm in length and 1.27 - 2.22 cm in diameter an electric furnace to the temperature given in Table 1, followed by die upsetting. Each set of swage dies allows for a 12 to 20% reduction in cross section. During the Changes in shape, the rod was placed in the oven. After the last reduction in cross section the wire was quenched to room temperature with water.
The mixture of Example 1 (49.5% cobalt, 10% molybdenum, 20% chromium, 0.5% silicon and 20% nickel) was melted in an open arc furnace and placed in sand molds into bars of 3.175 cm 0 and Cast 15.24 cm in length. The rods were machined to 1.27 cm and 15.24 cm in length. They were at 885 ° C die-upset (the temperature before deformation was 1066 ° C) by reducing the cross-section by 60% was reduced. The cross-section was then made with a 60 horsepower die upsetting machine at room temperature (21 ° C) decreased by 60%.
In der Feinstruktur der bei Raumtemperatur unter strengen Bedingun-Samples were cut from the rods obtained at temperatures of 370, 430 and 650 ° C up to 100 h and examined at room temperature. The ability of the manufactured according to the invention Workpieces to maintain their room temperature strength properties to a significant extent, can be seen from table 4. The fact that the X-ray intensity ratio during prolonged Heat treatment at 370 and 430 ° C remains essentially constant, indicates that the / ■ / CP phase not essential in this alloy increases although even at these temperatures the stable structure is 100% HCP phase. In the fine structure which at room temperature under strict conditions
Bei 6500C bleibt die Plättchenform mehr als 10 h, aber weniger als 100 h in einer Legierung, die bei Raumtemperatur 60% verformt wurde, erhalten.gen deformed samples, the platelets form is predominantly obtained after prolonged treatment at temperatures below 650 0 C. At 370 and 427 ° C., the platelet shape is retained in the alloy, the properties of which are shown in Table 4 after treatment for at least 100 hours. At 650 ° C., the platelet shape is retained for more than 10 hours but less than 100 hours in an alloy that has been deformed 60% at room temperature.
If the platelet shape is retained, the strength of the alloy is not reduced. If there is an excessive increase in the HCP phase at elevated temperatures, which is indicated by a substantial increase in the intensity ratio, the platelets are soft annealed into spheres, and new equiaxed grains of HCP phase are produced. In the case of the alloy listed in Table 4, the disappearance of the platelets due to soft annealing and the increase in equiaxed grains are accompanied by a decrease in the yield strength from about 21,100 to 14,100 kp / cm 2 .
··) Weichglühen der HCP-Plättchen und Zunahme an gleichachsigen WCP-Körnem zeigt die optische Feinstruktur an.*) Striations in FCC grains due to the stress-induced formation of WCP platelets during deformation at room temperature is still present in an optical fine structure after heat treatment. ··) Soft annealing of the HCP platelets and an increase in equiaxed WCP grains indicate the optical fine structure.
The mixture of example 2 (34.5% cobalt, 10% molybdenum, 20% chromium, 0.5% silicon and 35% nickel) was melted in an open arc furnace and sanded into bars 3.175 cm in diameter and cast 15.24 cm in length. They were deformed to 2.54 cm in diameter and 15.24 cm in length and then at 885 ° C. with a 60% reduction in cross section and then at room temperature with a reduction in the Cross-section machined by 60% in a 30 HP die upsetting machine.
The rods obtained were cut into samples, exposed to temperatures of 370, 430 and 650 ° C. for up to 100 hours and examined. "This example explains how important it is to limit the amount of carbon in the alloy mixture. An alloy mixture of about 34.5% cobalt, 10% molybdenum, 20% chromium, 0.5% silicon, 34.5% nickel and 0.38% carbon was melted in an open induction furnace and placed in a graphite mold poured. The V-notch impact strength according to C h a r ρ y of the cast body was <0.692 mkp. "
After 4 hours of solution heat treatment at 1205 ° C., an ingot of the alloy broke during extrusion at 1205 ° C. using a deformation ratio of 8: 1.
On the other hand, the alloy mixture of Example 22 (34.5% cobalt, 10% molybdenum, 20% Chromium, 0.5% silicon, 35% nickel and only 0.04% carbon) into an ingot in the same way deformed. Its V-notch impact strength according to C h a r ρ y was> 16.6 mkp.

In example 23, an alloy mixture of 35% nickel, 10% molybdenum, 20% chromium, 0.1% silicon and the remainder of cobalt was poured into an open iron mold as in example 1. The ingot was gesenkgestaucht at 885 ° C (the temperature before the deformation was 1065 0 C), in order to reduce its cross-section by 60%, and then gesenkgestaucht 64%. In the stress rupture test at 595 ° C., it expanded by 6% after 100 hours of stress of 6330 kp / cm 2 .
In Example 24, an alloy of 20% nickel, 10% molybdenum, 20% chromium, 0.1% silicon and the remainder of cobalt was poured into an open cast iron mold as in Example 1. The ingot obtained was gesenkgestaucht at 885 ° C (the temperature before the deformation was 1065 0 C) to reduce its cross-section by 60% and was then gesenkgestaucht at room temperature 37%. In the stress rupture test at 595 ° C., it expanded by 10% after 100 hours of stress of 6610 kp / cm 2 .
A bar of a commercial alloy based on cobalt (2% nickel, 6% molybdenum, 27% chromium, 0.6% silicon, 0.25% carbon, 1% iron, 0.6% manganese and the remainder cobalt) was used as a control ) 100 hours of stress rupture test at 595 ° C. It already broke at a tension of 4570 kp / cm 2 .

The effect of heat treatment of at least 0.5 hours at 315-650 0 C after deformation on the mechanical properties is the Table 8 below.
An ingot weighing 6.8 kg, cast in a vacuum, made of an alloy with 35% nickel, 10% molybdenum, 20% chromium, 0.5% silicon and the remainder of cobalt, was extruded 8: 1 at 1200 ° C. It was exposed to a temperature of 1200 ° C. for 1 hour, then quenched with water and then die-upset 80% at room temperature. Parts of the rod gesenkgestauchten h were in the experiment 4 25 at 430 0 C heat treated h in the experiment 4 26 at 540 0 C and h in the experiment 27 4 at 650 ° C.
The properties of the heat-treated workpieces were compared with a control piece, which 80% was swaged and that was not heat treated. The improvement of the mechanical properties, especially the improvement in the yield stress is shown in the table. It should be emphasized that the Yield stress during this heat treatment does not increase if the alloy has not previously been subjected to a Temperature below the transformation range has been deformed.
