Fig. l zeigt einen Teil eines Fahrzeugs, der einen
Spiegelmechanismus 12 besitzt und an dem äußeren
Teil einer Fahrzeugtür 14 befestigt ist. Der Spie-
gelmechanismu12 wird durch Kabel 16 mit einem
von
Hand zu betätigenden Antrieb 18 verbunden, der an
der Innenseite der Türverkleidung befestigt ist.
Nach den ii'ii;. 2 bis 6 enthält der Spiegelmechanismus
12 ein äußeres zylindrisches Gehäuse 2o, das mit einer
Befegtigun-skonsole 22 verbunden ist. Diese ist an
dem Blech der Fahrzeugtür 14 befestigt. Das Gehäuse
ist mit einem nach innen gerichteten Ansatz 24 ver-
sehen, der zentral in dem Gehäuse angebracht ist
und dazu dient, einen Zapfen 26 aufzunehmen. Der
Zapfen besitzt eine Gewindebohrung, welche an dem
einen Ende eine Schraube 28 zur starren Befestigung
des Bolzens an dem Gehäuse aufnimmt. Das andere Ende
des Zapfens ist mit einem kugelförmigen Kopf 30 ver-
sehen, der einen Schlitz 32 quer durch den Kopf ent-
hält und dazu dient, einen gebogenen Verbindungs-
draht 34 aufzunehmen, dessen Enden in die Nuten 36
und 38 passen, die in einer Spiegelauflage, allgemein
mit 4o bezeichnet, angebracht sind. Zusätzlich hat der
Kopf 30 ein Paar seitliche Ansätze 42 und 44, welche
entsprechend in die Kanäle 46 und 48 einreifen, die
an die kreisförmige Öffnung 50 in der Spiegelauflage
4o angebracht sind. Somit paßt der Kopf 30 in der
ge-
zeigten zusammengebauten Weise,in die Öffnung 5o und
dient dazu, die Spiegelauflage 4o universell drehbar
zu lagern. Dabei stellen die Ansätze 42 und 44 Mit-
tel dar, um die Spiegelauflage auf dem Kopf @n Stel-
lung zu bringen und um eine relative Bewegung zwischen
beiden zu verhindern. Ferner verbindet der Verbindungs-
draht 34 die Spiegelauflage mit dem Zapfen, ohne eine
Hemmung zwischen beiden hervorzurufen, und
es. ist von
Bedeutung, daß der Durchmesser der Ansätze genügend
kleiner ist als die Größe des Kanals, um eine allge-
meine.ßewegung der Spiegelauflage zu gestatten,
ohne einen Klemmeffekt hervorzurufen.
Wi.e aus den Fig. 5 und 6_am besten zu ersehen ist,
wird die Spiegelauflage 4o vorzugsweise aus einem
Plastikmaterial gefertigt und mit einem flachen
Auf-
lageteil 51 versehen, auf welchem der Rücken
einen
Spiegelelements 52 aufliegt. Die Spiegelauflage hat
Nockenfläohen in Form von Rampen 54, 56,
58 und 6o,
die direkt am Rücken der Auflage angeformt sind und
eine ringförmige Lippe, die anschließend an den Um-
fang der Rampen angebrachti Jut und mit dem Auflageteil
51 sugammenwirkt, um das Spiegelelement sicher in
Stellung zu halten. Der Auflageteil 51 liegt
in
einer geneigten Ebene, so daß die normalerweise reflek-@
tierende Fläche des Spiegelelements zum Fahrer des
Fahrzeugen gerichtet iatg wobei die Rampen auf einem
konzentriechen Kreis zu dar Öffnung 50 liegen.
Um di'* Spiegelauflage für die gewünschte Rückansicht
in Stellung zu bringen, ist ein Paar von Nockenteilen
61 un4.62 drehbar um den Ansatz 24
angebracht. Jeden
Nockenteil hat ein Paar sich radial erstreckender
Arme, wobei jeder mit einem aus einem Stück be-
stehenden Ansatz oder Nocken versehen ist, um in
eine der Rampen an der Spiegelauflage zu greifen.
Nach den FiG. 4 und 5 greifen die Ansätze, die sich
von den Nockenteilen 61 und 62 erstrecken, in die
Rampen 54, 5E3 bzw. 56, 6o ein. Somit greift jeder
der Ansätze, wenn die Nockenteile in der mit
ausge-
zoGenen Strichen gezeigten Stellung nach Fig. 2 sind,
in dessen zugehörige Rampe an einem Punkt zwischen
deren niedrigsten und höchsten Punkt ein. Jedoch,
wenn angenommen wird, das das Nockenteil 62 sich
im
Uhrzeigersinn in die Stellung, die strichpunktiert
(Feg. 2) dargestellt ist, dreht und das Nockenteil
61 die Stellun` in vollausgezogenen Strichen beibe-
hält, wird die mit dem Nocken in Ringriff stehende
Hampe 6o zu dessen niederen Punkt sich bewegen, wäh-
rend der mit der Rampe 56 in Eingriff stehende Nok-
ken zu dessen hohen Punkt seich bewegen wird, woraus
sich eine drehende Bewegung der Spiegelauflage um
eine
vertikale Achse ergibt, so das sich die linke Seite
des Spie4els aus der Ebene der Zeichnung gegen den
Betrachter bewegt. Eine Bewegung entgegengesetzt dem
Uhrzeigersinn des Nockenteiles 62 bewirkt, das die
Spiegelauflage um die vertikale Achse in eine ent-
4egengesetzte Richtung gedreht wird, so daß in die-
sem Falle sich die rechte Seite des Spiegels zum Be-
trachter bewegen würde. Ähnlich, wenn angenommen wird,
daß das Nockenteil 62 in der mit voll ausgezogenen
Strichen gezeigten Stellung nach Fig. 2 ist, und das
Nockenteil 61 wird entgegengesetzt dem Uhrzeigersinn
in die mit strichpuhktierten Linien dargestellte Stel-
lung oder im Uhrzeigersinn gedreht, würde die Spie"el-
auflage sich um eine horizontale Achse aufwärts oder
abwärts bewegen. Wenn beide Nockenteile 61, 62 zu-.
,gleich in die mit strichpunktierten Linien gezeigten
ßtellungen nach Fig. 2 bewegt werden, würde sich die
Spiegelauflage um eine Achse drehen, die zu der Hori-
zontalen-geneigt ist.
Der Betätigungsmechanismus zur Erzielung einer relati-
ven und gleichzeitigen Bewegung der Nockenteile ist
in seinen Einzelheiten in Fig. 2 gezeigt und enthält
ein zylindrisches Gehäuse 66, das an einem Ende mit
einem Gewindeansatz 68 zur Aufnahme eines Befestigungs-
ringes ?o endet, der das Gehäuse an eine Stütze, wie
der Türverkleidung 72, starr befestigt.-Ein von
Hand betätigter Knopf ?4 ist universell in das Gehäuse
66 durch einen kugelförmigen Teil 76 eingebaut, der
in Zusammenhang mit einer kugelförmigen Auflage-
fläche 78 steht, welche an den Ansatz 68 angrenzend
angebracht ist. Ein Kugelzapfen So ist auf einer
Platte 82,- die am inneren'Ende des Gehäuses 66 be-
festigt ist, angebracht und dient als Angelpunkt um
den der Knopf 74 beweglich ist. Ein Paar Drähte 84
und 86, die so angebracht sind, daß sie auf Druck
und Zug arbeiten, enden an dem einen Ende in den
Kugeln 88 bzw. 9o, welche in passenden PIuffen, die in
dem Betätigungsknopf angebracht sind, aufgenommen
werden. Jeder Draht wird von einer Hülle umgeben,
in der der Draht so weit frei gleiten kann, daß das
Detätigungsende von jeder Hülle fest in der Stellung
zu der Platte 82 durch Kopfschrauben gehalten wird,
während die anderen Enden in dem Gehäuse 2o durch eine
Scirauben- und Scheibenkombination 91 befestigt sind.
Die entgegengesetzten Enden der Drähte 84 und 86
sind mit den Ansätzen 92 bzw. 94 verbunden, welche
wiederum entsprechend mit den Nackenauflagen 61 und
62 verbunden sind. Somit wird in Abhängigkeit der
Bewegung des Betätigungsknopfes der eine oder beide
Drähte in ihren entsprechenden Hüllen axial bewegt,
um eine Drehbewegung der Nackenteile au bewirke.
Fig. 7 stellt perspektivisch die relativen Stellungen
der Kugeln 88 und 9o, die mit den Betätigungsdräh-
ten verbunden sind, und des Kugelzapfens 8o, um
den sich der Betätigungsknopf 74 dreht, dar. Die
vertikale Achse, V, V1 und die horizontale Achse,
H, H, schneiden sich in der Kugelmitte des Kugel-
zapfens. ferner liegt das Zentrum der Kugel 88
auf der vertikalen Achse V, Vl, und die Mittellinie
der Kugel 9o liegt auf der horizontalen Achse
H, Hl.
Bei dieser Anordnung dreht sich der Betätigungsknopf
um die horizontale Achse H, Hl, wenn er in der ver-
tikalen Ebene auf und ab bewegt wird, und bewegt da-
bei die Kugel 88 vorwärts und rückwärts. Da die Ku-
gel 9o auf der horizontalen Achse H, Hi ließt, bleibt
sie bei dieser Bewegung in Ruhe. Im Gegensatz dazu,
wenn der Betätigungsknopf seitwärts um die vertikale
Achse V, V, gedreht wird, bleibt die Kugel 99 in
Ruhe und die Kugel 9o bewegt sich vorwärts und rück-
wärts. Wenn somit der Betätigungsknopf in eine Ebene
bewegt wird, die zwischen 'der vertikalen und horizon-
talen Achse liegt, wie z. D. in eine Stellung zwischen
V1 und Hl, würden beide Kugeln 88 und 9o sich rück-
wärts bewegen und einen Lug auf die entsprechenden
Drähte bewirken. Natürlich bewirken Bewegungen des
Betätigungsknopfes in Stellungen zwischen den Haupt-
Horizontal- und -Vertikalachsen das gleiche Ergebnis.
Diese Anordnung ist für den oben beschriebenen Rück--
spie#-,-elmechanismus von Bedeutung, da es ermöglicht
wird, letzteren durch die Anwendung von nur zwei Dräh-
ten zu betätigen und in alle Stellungen einzurichten.
Bei der Betätigung der oben beschriebenen Konstruktion
muß der Fahrer nur den Betätigungsknopf ?4 ergreifen
und in eine vorbestimmte Stellung bewegen, um eine
dementsprechende Bewegung der Spiegelauflage 4o zu-er-
zeugen. Angenommen, es wird beispielsweise gewünscht,
das.Spie`elelement seitlich einzustellen, dann wird
der Betätigun`sknopf in einer horizontalen Ebene um
die vertikale Achse V, V1 bewegt, wodurch der Draht
86 bewegt wird, was zu einer Drehbewegung der Nocken-
auflage 62 führt. Wie oben beschrieben, bewegen sigh
die vorspringenden Nocken am Nockenteil 62 entlang der
hampen 56 und 6o, um die Spiegelauflage seitlich um
eine vertikale Achse zu drehen. Ähnlich bewirkt eine
Bewe;ung des Betätigungsknopfes in einer vertikalen
Ebene um eine horizontale Achse ü, ii, eine Bewegung
des Drahtes 84 und dreht das Nockenteil 61, dessen An-
Sätze mit den Rampen 54 und 5£3 in Eingriff stehen. End-
lich bewirkt eine Bewegung des Betätigungsknopfes in
Stellungen, die zwischen den gegenseitig senkrechten
Achsen liej-eri, eine BeweL.@un @; der beiden Driihte und
eine entsprechende Drehung der beiden Nockenteile,
um die Spie, elauflaf,;e um die lichsen, die zwischen
deneen@:eitif., senkrechten ilchsen liegen, in btel-
lie
Luna zu bringen.
:Die 1'i#. 8 bis 11 veranschaulichen eine zweite Aus-
führun;t:sform der Erfindung. Ein Rückspiegelmechanis-
mus, der mit hr: 1o bezeichnet wird, in in Fig. ß
außen an das äußere Blech einer r'ahrzeugtür 12 an;-e-
baut gezeigt. Lin Paar Kabel 14 und 16, welche einen
Draht und Hüllenteil enthalten und auf Zug und Druck
arbeiten, sind mit einem Ende in dem Spiegelmechanis-
mus befesti#:t, während die anderen Enden mit einem
Antrieb, der mit Nummer 18 bezeichnet wird, verbunden
sind. Der ferngesteuerte Spiegelmechanismus ermög-
licht es, eine Spiegelauflage 2o durch den Fahrer
innerhalb des Fahrzeugs einzustellen. In dieser iIin-
sicht ist nach Fi-. 2 der Antrieb zur Einstellun4an
die Verkleidung 22 der Tür in leicht zugänglicher
Reichweite des Fahrers befestigt.
Der Mechanismus der Fig. 8 bis 11 enthält ein Gehäuse
oder eine Basis 24- für die Spie&-,elauflaz,-e, wobei das
Einstellen der 1:.@ tzteren durch ein i'aar von Nocken-
beilexi 28 und 28 bewerkstelligt wird, die drehbar
an einem @'Lnsatz 3o ans eb-aL;t sind unü daran ane-
bäute, sich in entgeiengesetzte tiicritun".i erstreh-
kende Arme haben. Die drc:llbaren Nochenl;eile sind
über die Kabel 14 und 16 mit einem universell unter-
stützten bteuerknopf 32 verbunden, so daß bei
drehender t3ewe@-ung des letzteren entweder eine
einzelne oder gemeinsame Bewei;ung der Kabel erfol;,t,
was wiederum einen oder beide Nocken-teile veranlaßt,
um die Achsen des Ansatzes 3o zu drehen. Ein koni-
scher Ansatz 45 an jedem Arm des entsprechenden
IlockenauflGeteiles berührt einen von vier iiampen-
teilen 36, die in einem Stück mit dem Rücken der
Spiegelauflage hergestellt sind. Wie am besten aus
l'ig. 9 zu sehen, ist jeder RampenteL bogenförmig
und liegt auf einem Kreis, so daß bei einer Dreh-
bewegung z. B. des Nockenteiles 26 der Ansatz auf
einem Arm davon auf eine Rampe ;leitet, während der
andere Ansatz die andere Rampe hinabgleitet. Dies er-
gibt eine t#ippbeweiun" der Spie;#elauflage uni eine
horizontale Achse H . Hl. Wenn der Nockenauflageteil
28 gedreht wird, wird in ähnlicher Weise eine seit-
liche i;ewegung der Spiegelauflage um eine vertikale
ochse V - V' erzeugt. wenn beide hfockenauflageteile
zu,:leich dedrmht werden, entsteht shcli.ßlich 2ine

in derselben Ebene liegt wie die Achsen V-V' und
1-1-Hl , aber dazwischen.
Nach den Fi-. 1o und 11 unterstützt die Bpieäelauf-
lage 2o einen Spiegel zwischen einem 'feil 35 und
einem band 3`j, der mit lem vorher;;e#an.;enen durch
ein Paar sich radial erstreckender Arme verbunden
ist. :Die gesamte Spiei;elaufla,#,eist aus einem leicht
formbaren l:aterial wie Plastik "emacht. Der Körper-
teil 35 besteht aus einer hauptsachlich kreisför-
miGen äußeren form mit einer flachen Lagerfläche j8
an deren vorderer 21'läche, die in einem Stüc°- mit
einem axial erstreckenden leingteil 4o verbunden 'ist,
das von seinem breitegtan zu seinem schmalsten
Punkt sich verjüngt, so daß die .Front der Spiegel-
auflae k.ewöhnlich dem Fahrer zugewendet ist. Der
kingteil geht in einen radial nach innen sich er-
streckenden Teil 42 über, dessen Rückseite mit den
Rampen 36 versehen ist. eine dünne ringförmige 1-iem-
brane 44 verbindet den Teil 35 mit einem Bolzen 46,
der zentral zu den Tampen und der Randecke des Pfeils
lieft. Wie am besten aus der Firä. 3 zu ersehen, ist
der 3olzen in einer Lohrun@, des Ansatzes 3o auf-
4jenommen und ist dort starr befestigt, um die Ram-
pen an der SpieGelauflage mit den Ansätzen 34 in
:Berührung zu halten.
Die l-iembrane 44 ist ein bedeutender Bestandteil der
Spiegelauflage 2o, da sie die Notwendigkeit einer
Kugelverbindung zur universell drehbaren Unter-
stützung der Spiegelauflage überflüssig macht. Die
leinbrave bestellt hier aus einem Stück mit dem Teil
35 und dein Bolzen 46 und ist aus einem Material wie
Plastik zu einer dünnen biegsamen Platte geformt.
Die Membrane enthält einen sich adial erstreckenden
Grundteil 48, welcher an seinem Umfang mit der Spie-
gelauflage 35 verbunden ist und zum Zentrum einen
nach außen gebauschten oder gebogenen Teil 5o auf-
weist, der an dem Bolzen 3o befestigt ist. Die Mem-
brane dient als eine bewegliche Verbindung zwischen
dem 'feil und dem Bolzen, so daß die Spiegelauflage
ent4prechend der Bewegung der drehbaren Nackenteile,
wie oben beschrieben, kippen kann, wobei der gebogene
heil 5o eine vergrößerte Beweglichkeit gibt. Da die
1#;em brave aus einem relativ dünnen Querschnitt besteht,
kann die Beugung dieser leicht stattfinden und erlaubt
somit jede yinstellünf der @piegelauflai,;e, diesonst
durch eine hui;elverbinduni; erstellt werden könnte.
