Description
The invention relates to the development of photographic silver halide emulsions in the presence of the development influencing substances and mixtures of the same substances with development accelerators.
It is known that the development of halftone images using a hydroquinone / p-N-methylaminophenol developer is accelerated under the influence of polyoxyalkylene compounds with a molecular weight, preferably higher than 1500. However, when such polyoxyalkylene compounds are used together with a hydroquinone / formaldehyde bisulfite developer are, as described in the German Auslegeschrift 1 141 5 31, an increase in gradation and desensitization are found. It turned out that the latter combination because of the high-contrast development that can be achieved with it for use in the graphic field is very suitable.
Es ist auch bekannt, dass die bei Verwendung einer Mischung einer Polyoxyalkylenverbindung mit dem Entwickler des obengenannten Typs veranlasste Entwicklungsverzögerung entgegengearbeitet und die Anfangsgeschwindigkeit der Entwicklung^ gesteigert werden kann, indem man nebst dieserIt is also known that when a mixture of a polyoxyalkylene compound is used with the developer of the above type caused development delay and the initial speed of development ^ can be increased by adding to this

Mixture also uses quaternary ammonium compounds. Well-known these quaternary ammonium compounds act in the Use in photographic emulsion layers, however, is very vague.
An increased initial development speed and the widest possible development interval, in which still sharp RasteiL points can be obtained in practice from important importance for the development of graphic reproductions.
