Die Benutzung von Dachpappe zur Abdichtung und inneren Verkleidung bei Falzziegel-Dachdeckungen ist an sich bekannt und u. A. auch durch die deutsche Patentschrift 8601 bekannt geworden. Die Anbringung der Pappe geschah bisher in der Weise, dafs Streifen derselben, deren Breite der Länge der Ziegel entspricht, fortlaufend unter einer Reihe von Ziegeln mit oder ohne Befestigung an den Dachlatten hinweggeführt wurden. Diese Eindeckungen sind mit manchen Mängeln behaftet. So ist zunächst schon das Decken der Ziegel unbequem und gefahrvoll, da der Arbeiter auf den Latten, die vorher mit den Pappstreifen belegt sind, nur einen unsicheren Standpunkt hat, wenn er die Pappe nicht durch Durchtreten beschädigen will. Letztere mufs auch wegen der beträchtlichen Länge der Streifen stellenweise Stützpunkte erhalten, weil sie sonst Einsackungen oder Hohlräume unter den Ziegeln bildet und dann namentlich unter der Einwirkung des in die Hohlräume einschlagenden Windes leicht reifst.
