Description
Luminous projectile The invention relates to a luminous projectile with a projectile front part and a projectile rear part, which are connected by a first shear connection be held together with a flare and a parachute in the projectile arranged and connected to one another by a first flexible rope, with a arranged in the tip of the projectile front part, which when ignited the two projectile parts blasted from each other, and with means to after the separation of the two projectile parts from each other the flare and the parachute from the projectile eject.
Such luminous projectiles can, for. B. at night over enemy Area to be shot, where then after reaching the right point over the enemy territory the flare ignited and ejected from the projectile together with the parachute will. The flare then slowly floats to the ground hanging on the parachute and lights up The area.
A luminous projectile is already known which has two ejector charges for separating the projectile parts from one another and for deploying the parachute. In addition to the risk that the ignition of the second charge could fail, there are also with this luminous projectile difficulties in the design of the projectile, and in particular the space available for the parachute and / or the flare is reduced. Here, too, the ejection charge acts directly on the parachute, so that means Provision must be made to protect the parachute from damage from the explosion to protect the second discharge.
Luminous projectiles are also known in which an elongated helical spring is used to launch the parachute. Such a coil spring is claimed a substantial part of the length of the projectile so that the parachute can be accommodated and / or the available space of the flare is reduced accordingly.
Finally, a light projectile is also known in which the parachute arrangement is ejected from the projectile by an ejection charge and after ejection the opening of the parachute is caused by a weight hanging on a rope.
In contrast, the invention is intended to create a luminous projectile in which the parachute reliably from the projectile body after igniting the ejection charge is deployed without the ejection charge directly on the parachute itself acts and without the need for mechanical ejection means that take up significant space required are.
For this purpose, it is proposed according to the invention that the flare, the is arranged in the front part of the storey, with the front part of the storey by a second flexible rope is connected, which is on the front part of the projectile or on the housing of the flare is attached via a second shearing device.
In this way it is achieved that the deployment of the flare inevitably brought about by the leading projectile front part and anyway the separation of the two storey halves is guaranteed. The ejector used, namely the second flexible rope, takes up very little space on the floor.
The luminous projectile is characterized in a further embodiment of the invention characterized in that the container of the flare against the rear part of the projectile, the encloses the parachute, press-fit.
Das Geschoß ist vorzugsweise ein Granatwerfergeschoß.The projectile is preferably a grenade launcher projectile.
An embodiment of the luminous projectile according to the present invention will now be described by way of example, reference being made to the accompanying drawings. It shows F i g. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a projectile according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a side view of the projectile after it has been fired and after the front part of the projectile and the rear part of the projectile have been separated, FIG. 3 shows a side view of the parts of the projectile after the complete detachment of the flare and the parachute from the projectile and FIG. 4 is a side view of the deployed parachute with flare. The projectile consists, as can be seen from the drawings, of a projectile front part with a point 2 and a projectile rear part 3 with a tail and fin arrangement 4. The projectile rear part 3 has a tapered opening 5 which fits exactly into the opening of the projectile front part 1 , and it is attached to this with three shear pins 6. A normal firing charge (not shown) is provided in the tail and fin assembly 4, while an ejection charge (not shown) is provided in the tip 2 of the projectile, which is intended to be detonated at a certain time after the projectile has been fired .
A flare 7 is arranged in the hollow front part 1 of the projectile and has an outer cylindrical container 8 which fits exactly into the projectile front part. Of the. Container 8 contains a luminous material 9 which is surrounded by a cardboard cover 10 . The container 8 is closed at one end with a cover 11 to which a pivot bearing 12 is fastened in the center. The cover 11 rests against the edge of the opening 5 of the projectile rear part 3 by means of a sealing ring 13 . A rope 14 is attached at one end to the ropes 15 of a parachute 16 and is provided at the other end with a ball 17 arranged in the pivot bearing 12. It thus connects the parachute 16 to the flare 7, but both can rotate relative to one another.
The end of the luminous material 9 remote from the cover 11 is closed by means of an igniter 18, a ring 19 being fitted into the adjacent end of the container 8, the outer edge of which is connected to the end edge of the container 8 by shear pins 20 . The ring 19 rests against a shoulder 22 of the projectile front part 1 via a spacer ring 21. A pivot bearing 24 with a ball 25 , which in turn is fastened to one end of a flexible rope 26, is also arranged on a center piece 23 of the ring 19. The other end of the flexible rope 26 is fastened in a pivot bearing 28 via a ball 27. This pivot bearing 28 is attached to a center piece to form a ring 29 which is inserted into the tip 2 on the front part 1 of the projectile.
In use, the projectile is fired in the usual way, and at a certain time after the launch, the ejection charge in the tip 2 of the projectile is ignited with a delayed ignition. The ignition of the discharge charge leads to the ignition of the flare detonator 18 and at the same time to the generation of gases which press the luminous material 9 in its container 8 against the edge of the opening 5 of the rear part 3 of the projectile. The projectile rear part 3 is exposed to a rearward force, while a forward force acts on the projectile front part. As a result of these oppositely directed forces, the shear pins 6 break and the two projectile parts 1 and 3 separate from each other, with the projectile front part 1 moving forward away from the projectile rear part 3 and the flare 7 being ejected from the projectile front part 1 under the action of the explosive gases of the ejection charge . F i g. 2 of the drawings shows the state after the separation of the projectile front part 1 from the projectile rear part 3 at the moment when the rope 26 is tensioned taut. At this moment, the jolt transmitted via the rope 26 as a result of the further forward movement of the projectile front part 1 with respect to the projectile rear part 3 leads to the breakage of the shear pins 20 and subsequently to the fact that the flare 7 moves away from the projectile rear part 3. As a result of this movement, the rope 14 and the parachute roof 16 are pulled out of the rear projectile part 3 or, as shown in FIG. 3 of the drawings, the projectile front part 1, the rope 26 and the ring 19 are separated from the flare 7, and the free flare 7 now begins to fall under the effect of gravity, the pull of gravity acting on the container 8 leading to this that the parachute 16 opens. The free-floating parachute unit with the flare is shown in FIG. 4 shown.
While in the arrangement described above, the flexible rope on the flare is attached with shear pins, it could of course just as well on the front part of the projectile be attached with a shear device.
It is obvious that the device according to the present Invention in which the flare with the front part of the projectile through a flexible Tau, the effective ejection of the parachute unit from the projectile relieved after the explosion of the discharge. It should also be noted that the space that is required for the rope connecting the flare to the projectile to accommodate is very small compared to the space that is known to accommodate or another ejection device is required. This fact makes it easier the creation of a luminous bullet, its outer shape and shape ballistic is cheap.
